It was the afternoon and Birdie was fidgety. She hadn’t had an afternoon run in ages, and usually it would be through her endless fields but that wasn’t available right now. So she headed for the Great Lawn, hopefully it was as great as it’s name held it to be.

Putting her water bottle under a vacant tree, she began her run. She nearly forgot the feeling of running, the wind through her hair and being free. She was half way through her lap and stil didn’t feel tired. It wasn’t the same though, there were trees but they weren’t the same as home. There were hills but not as big as the ones she used to roll and run on. All in all, it wasn’t home but she just had to get used to that. At least she was running, and that felt normal.

Josh was having the time of his life at Hogwarts. He was always learning something new about the magical world. He had an actual conversation with a talking portrait and he also was beginning to learn about the moving stairs, though they were still confusing to him. Today, the Gryffindor boy had decided to make his way towards the Great Lawns to maybe learn more about the school. Maybe there were secret tunnels hidden in the gardens or something. The Gryffindor boy walked around the lawn when he noticed a girl he had noticed in his classes had been jogging around. The boy liked jogging and decided to make jog up to the girl, jogging beside her. "Hello! Are you jogging? You wanna race?"

Jumping in the air, Birdie quickly turned to the side to see who had scared her. It was a Gryffindor boy, one she recognised from some of her classes. She put a hand to her chest trying to console her heart, "Jeez, you scared me."

Putting her hand back down, she got ready to race, "Sure." Still jogging at the same pace as him, she counted down, "3, 2, 1, GO!" And she was off, wind whipping her hair all over the place causing her to regret not putting it up in a ponytail. In hindsight, it would've been common sense but she didn't and she won't let that stop her from winning this race.

Joshua chuckled when the girl mentioned that he had scared her. "Sorry bout that!" Josh says with a chuckle, as he jogged at the same pace as she was. Josh hadn't thought about jogging around school but now that he had seen someone else jog at school, he might consider doing it more often to keep his daily exercise into it. The Gryffindor boy smirked playfully when the girl had agreed of racing. He prepared himself when the girl started counting down. He then speeds off as she finishes this countdown, only he wasn't that far behind.

Birdie thought this would be an easy one. She had been running for years now and personally thought she was pretty fast. Well, she was sorely mistaken. Not far behind her was the boy, and Birdies' legs were getting somewhat tired from her previous jog. As she was running her hardest, Birdie soon realised that they didn't set out a finish line, so she quickly pointed to a tree a couple of metres away from the both of them and yelled to the boy, "That's the finish line!". Her sight was set on target and pushed hard and fast, hoping the boy wouldn't catch up to her in the last sprint, but he was close and it could be anyone's win right now. As she wiped away the hair that somehow made it into her mouth, she took a quick peek at the boy behind her.

Joshua nodded as the girl had explained to her where the finish line was, glad that there was at least a finishing line somewhere, as he thought that maybe the race wouldn't end if there wasn't one. He was only a few meters behind her, though he was still catching up to her. It had seemed like she was going to win the race between them though. "What's the prize for the winner?" Joshua joked at the girl.

Winner gets the title of the bestest person of the land,” Birdie laughed back, still pumping her legs. Her words came out breathy and her heart was racing like crazy. Not daring to look back, the tree was closing in and Birdie slowed down as soon as she past, looking back to see the boy pass the tree a second after her. Trying to catch her breath, she flopped down at the tree and looked up at the branches and some of the sun shining through the leaves. “I’m Birdie by the way.” Birdie said to the boy, still panting, “You might’ve heard me as the bestest person of the land
