Appearance: She has long wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, fading freckles, and is rather tall and skinny.
Hometown: Ruby does not really have a hometown, although the closest main settlement to her home is Queenstown, New Zealand.
Current Residency: Ruby lives in the family manor high up in the Southern Alps. The location was chosen by her ancestors as a way to have absolutely no contact with Muggles, and the manor is enchanted to be hidden from them.
Heritage: Although her family have been New Zealanders for many generations, she is mainly of English descent. Also, her maternal family is of Dutch descent.
Blood Status: She is of mixed blood, although her closest Muggle ancestor was five generations ago.
Wand: Myrtle Wand 15 1/2" Tail of Charmed Newt.
Pets: A female hawk named Felicia, whom she has had for three years. Ruby was given her as a gift from her mother's hawk breeding farm.
Currently: Gryffindor Second Year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in New Zealand.
Personality: Very dreamy. She is stuck in her own little world most of the time, thinking of things to paint, so she doesn't always take great notice of what's happening around her. She is a very kind natured girl, and can be a brilliant friend because she always takes the time to listen to others' problems and try to help them. She has a sense of honesty, fair play and respect. She is the type of person to always give others the benefit of the doubt, and is naturally hopeful.
Thoughts: Ruby is under the impression that her family is well known in society, but she has been cut off from everyone but her family all of her life due to where she lives. Most of what she 'knows' about the world outside has been fed to her by her ambitious parents and grandfather. She constantly feels under pressure to to please them, and obsesses over their expectations. Her solitude has also left her thinking she does not need or want friends, as she is happy in her own company.
Likes: Painting watercolours, exploring and stargazing. One of her favourite things to do at home is climb the mountains around her, and she often takes her pet hawk out with her. She has no fear of heights, and the higher she can climb the happier she is.
Dislikes: Ruby doesn't like disappointing her family, confrontation, or seeing other people in distress. She will often strive to do anything she can to prevent these things. She can also become nervous about doing things that she knows her parents wouldn't approve of, for example, she was never allowed to fly at home, so when she learnt to fly at school it wasn't something she felt good about doing.
Strengths: Ruby has developed a strong character from having to stand up to her parents a lot. She understands that she is different from the rest of her family (they have all been Slytherins at Hogwarts), and that one day she will not be able to do all of the things they ask of her. She can accept things that she has no control over, unlike them, and she just gets on with things as they are.
