James was not a fan of going down to the dungeon, and since he was no longer dating Charlotte and wasn't taking potions that semester, he had not expected to spend any time there. That was until he signed up to deliver roses and now found himself delivering a rose. James made his way to where he suspected the entrance to the Slytherin common room was and waited until he found someone. "Excuse me, I'm looking for Lourdes Brackenstall," He called to the first Slytherin he came across.

Following an older group of students towards the common room, Lourdes found herself preoccupied with thoughts of an upcoming essay she hadn't quite finished yet. The classwork at Hogwarts was more challenging than she had anticipated, it made her wistful for her tuition back at home. Father had been so determined that she should go to school with others of her age, to socialise and learn how to secure her place amongst others, but at times she longed for the simplicity of her life back home. She was so deep in thought that she almost didn't hear her name, some older boy up ahead was calling for her and she tensed up instinctively. What, was he here to claim himself some long-lost cousin like the other one? She considered trying to slip past and avoid him, until she spotted the roses the boy was carrying. Oh. Well, that was a relief. Peeling away from the group she was following, Lourdes approached him. "I'm Lourdes." She said curtly, eyeing the boy. "What is this concerning?"

"Someone sent you a rose," James announced pulling a yellow rose from his dwindling bunch and the note to go with it. "Any idea who its from?" He asked, though he suspected she wouldn't offer up the information.
Dear Lourdes,

Of course I thought of you when I heard about this event - I wanted to pick out the perfect rose for you and deliver it specially, but they wouldn't let me do either. I hope whoever brought this to you didn't handle it roughly and damage it. Thank you for being my friend this year, Lourdes, I'm honoured to call you mine.

Sincerely,
Jessica.
