Hazel Maye Hydran was excited. It was Valentine's day and she actually had some-one to celebrate it with this year. It was rather exciting. There was the added fact that Valentine's day fell on he fourteenth, which was also Sammy's and Hazel's Anniversary. However, seeing as Sammy celebrated ever single anniversary, it made the six month anniversary kind of obsolete. Either way, Hazel was going to celebrate Valentine's day. She had set up the room so that it was filled with pinks, bears, flowers, and reds, everything that Sammy loved and that celebrated the day of love. She had spent two weeks sorting all of this out. Everyday before and after classes and during the weekend she had taken some time to decorate the room. Her mood lighting and the snowflakes on the walls, she thought were a nice touch. If Sammy could get here and not be late, then her day would be complete. However, seeing as it was Sammy she was waiting for, she could be waiting for a rather long time. He was getting better, that was something, but still. Hazel shook her head as she placed a blanket on the ground and put two pillows on it. She had spent most of the morning making snacks for their picnic. She had Potato Salad, Fried Chicken, Watermelon, Pasta Salad, Pinwheel Sandwiches, French Bread, Crepes, Lemonade and Fruit Juice. She hoped that Sammy at least appreciated her efforts. She was an amazing cook, but he always complained when she cooked something because he always wanted to do it, but the only things he could make were noodles and various desserts.

Hazel finished the decorating and pulled her present out of the bag and laid it in the middle of the blanket. She really hoped that he would like it. It had all the photos that they had taken over the last six months. It was kind of funny, it mostly consisted of photos of the various Anniversaries that Sammy had planned. She loved them, that was for sure but she didn't think that they would need to have one every single month, it was kind of ridiculous.

Love was in the air. It was completely impossible to ignore the fact that Valentines Day was here. To Sammy, everyone was celebrating it. Admittedly, the Head boy viewed the day through a candy-coloured filter, since it was the first time that he was able to celebrate it with someone special. Hazel, obviously. He made sure to get something really nice this time, because it had to be better than his previous gifts and whatever it was that Hazel was planning. It had to be the best. For the first time in his life, the Gryffindor kept track of the time. If he was late for this, he was confident that Hazel would throw him from the tower. Or never talk to him again. Which would be worse? Probably the not talking thing. It would be devastating to have Hazel refuse to talk to him, she had done it before, and it was a soul-crushing experience. He didn't want it to happen again. Where was he supposed to go again? With his eyes wide, Samual placed the gigantic, one-metre tall, white bear. It was such an adorable bear, he was tempted to keep it for himself, but it had the traditional Valentines Day stuff on it, and he got Jack to mail it over here for Hazel, not to sit on his own bed. It was a nice, fluffy white, with a heart stitched to the hands. The heart was adorned with smaller, sparkly pink and red hearts. The bear was very soft, like fluffy kitten, and it smelt of vanilla incense - Hazel's favourite smell. It had taken months for Samual to discreetly discover her favourite smell by experimenting with different perfumes and colognes, waiting for her to comment on the smell. The amount of perfume bottles in his trunk possibly outnumbered the vast amount of blazers there. There was even a time when she commented on the astounding amount of perfume and cologne bottles in his bag. His scent was clashing these days, but at least the bear still smelt of vanilla. Inside the heart were Hazel's favourite runes, which weren't too hard to figure out, she often spoke of them. It was wonderful, near-perfect. That was all that mattered. He checked the location and nodded to himself. He was nearly there!

When he finally reached the abandoned classroom, he nearly dropped the bear. Hazel totalled won. The room looked amazing, his eyes took a while to fully comprehend the scenery, but they eventually got there. There was so much fantabulous stuff! There was so much food. When did she have time to do this? He had been planning something similar, but he got too busy and she told him not to bother. She was so sneaky! "Hazel!" he entered the room. "Dear Merlin!" It was completely amazing. Fantabulous just wasn't good enough. He needed a new word for this, a better word. "It's..." he stopped. What could he say? He was speechless. Utterly speechless. He was tempted to just throw his gift away, because it couldn't measure up to this. He held his arms out, presenting the gift. He was still silent, seemingly for the first time ever.

Hazel smiled as the door opened and Sammy walked in. She was very happy that he was not late. He was actually right on time. That was amazing to be sure. She just knew that today was going to be amazing. Sammy was here to share it with her and he was on time, for once. Of course she loved that about him, but still, sometimes she wished he wasn't as popular as he seemed to be. It seemed that Sammy was overwhelmed by the room. Hazel had thought that she would get a good response, but she was surprised to find Samual speechless. It was indeed a rare sight. She wondered just how many times he had been astonished in this manner. Hazel walked over to Sam and took the bear into her own hands. It was huge, it was amazing. She squeezed it close to her and popped it down beside her, she loved it and she was happy that Sammy had thought to buy it for her. She smiled at him and presented her own gift. She hoped he would like it. Though she thought he probably would. "So I take it you like what I have done?" She asked as she put her hand out to hold Sammy's and lead him over to the picnic area. She was ready to eat and she hoped that Sammy was too. She didn't want all the food to go to waste, but because she was not a big eater, she had a feeling that maybe she had made too much food. Although of course, she could just give the rest of the food to the house elves to do something with. It would work just as well, surely.

"Sam, are you hungry? I have made so much food. Though I think I made too much." She told him as she sat on one of the pillows with her legs tucked beneath her. She flattened out the creases in her dress and placed her bear on one of the other pillows near her, leaving two pillows for Sammy to pick from. She quickly proceeded to remove to covers of all the food and smiled at the delicious smell it created and the jumps her stomach gave at the promise of food. "You can have your pick of food. Where would you like to start?" Hazel asked as she poured herself a glass of fruit juice. She was sure she was going to enjoy today.
