Because of the effects of the Rumor Magazine, the last few days had not been pleasant for Riley. The young Gryffindor Prefect really loved how her hair looked, and as silly as it was to get upset over hair, the Magazine had really hurt her feelings. She didn't think that many people would understand why she was so upset about it, and wished greatly to talk to the one who she was pretty sure would understand, or just comfort her. But Jerrod hadn't spoken to her for a long time, and it was getting close to her final year and she missed him desperately. Things had changed, what with her parents getting a divorce, and so much drama, Riley started struggling in classes. She wasn't sure if she would even be able to be an Auror. Though with my mom dating the Head, I'm sure I'll be fine. Riley snorted, thinking about it. While she was angry at her parents, she couldn't blame her mom for wanting to go after love. It had definitely inspired Riley to make up with Jerrod, but she wasn't sure how it would go. Perhaps telling him her ambitions had changed? Or how much she missed him? She sighed, and unknowingly sat in the same spot she was sitting in when she first met the Slytherin boy. Even though she had made a new friend in Jeremy, it didn't stop her from feeling lonely. She twisted her red hair in her fingers, thinking about what she could do to make the year end on a good note.

It was a normal day for Jerrod. Nothing new had happened recently and nothing old had come back to haunt him. At least his mum seemed to be cheering up recently. Now the girls were getting older they were much easier for her to handle so Sam had loads less work on her hands. However, Jerrod was finding Lily hard to handle. She kept having major mood swings that he'd never seen her have before. One minute she was the happiest person alive and the next she wouldn't stop crying and was having nightmares. He was getting very worried about his twin sister but could do nothing when she wouldn't say what was wrong with her.
Jerry sighed as he walked outside onto the great lawn. It was Summer so the sun was hot on the grass and he needed a rest in the heat. At least it would do him some good. Even if it wasn't much.
Jerrod's feet stopped dead about three metres away from a girl when he suddenly realised who she was. He hadn't spoken to her in a VERY long time and he didn't know how to react after seeing her now. After all, the last time they spoke was when they were ending their relationship. He also realised that he was just stood here in the middle of the lawn staring at his ex-girlfriend which would look very weird to anyone who'd spotted him. He shook his thoughts out of his head and went to turn and walk away before she noticed him.

Riley moved her hands behind her back and leaned back on them. Her dark brown eyes closed for a moment, soaking in the sun, trying to lift her spirits. However, she couldn't help but be frustrated at herself for having no close friends. Seven years at a school, and she had even lost her best friend, Nevaeh, because of being with Jerrod. And now there was no Jerrod. Nothing to show. Riley opened her eyes and shook her head of the thoughts, before noticing a fleck of glitter still glimmering through the red. A small smile appeared on her lips, knowing that there was at least one thing constant she would have for her lifetime.
Riley looked across the lawn to see if there was anyone else by themselves, a friend she could make before she left the school. Her eyes found their way to a lonesome boy standing in the middle of the lawn. He seemed to be looking at her, but before she could do anything, he was rushing away. Riley, confused, stood up and paced over to him, catching up quickly before realizing who it was. Riley came to a standstill. "Jerrod?" The word had softly emitted from her mouth without her realizing.

Jerrod stopped dead when he heard his name said in that sweet, soft voice. His heart starting racing faster as he turned to look at Riley. He couldn't believe he was actually stood here talking to her. He hated her for the fact that she wanted to be an auror but he couldn't help but love her for everything else. She was a beautiful, kind, sensitive girl who had given him a chance when no one else would. How could he hate her after that?? But how could he see her if she was just going to turn him in the second she got the job?? "Umm..." He thought for a second and then felt like a fool as the next word fell out his mouth "Hi." That was it. That was all he could say to the girl who had stolen his heart. Nothing more. It drove him mad that he couldn't even start a conversation with her but he didn't even know if he wanted to or not. Did he want to be friends with the person who was meant to be his enemy??

Riley's heart stopped and she gulped in air when he turned around. It was crazy that she was just thinking about him, and now, here he stood in front of her. Though, lately there hadn't been a moment where she wasn't thinking about him. The thoughts that Riley had had before had quickly swum away from her head, leaving her standing there speechless. Always with this boy, her never-ending verbal diarrhea disappeared. The red head stood staring at the boy, like a deer caught in headlights. She had run this scenario through her head multiple times, and, of course, it didn't even go like this. He would be smiling, and embracing her into a warm hug; she would kiss him, and he would kiss her back. There would only be silence because they didn't have to say anything, they knew what each other were thinking. Not this silence, where she was sure he was furious with her.
Riley missed Jerrod's voice, but when he spoke, his words chipped away at her heart. He seemed completely disinterested. Two words was all he could manage? Riley couldn't judge him, but she felt tears promising to break through. She blinked them away and took a deep breath before deciding to reply. "Hey." Riley said breathlessly, biting her lip. She stood there awkwardly, knowing she did the exact same thing that she was annoyed at Jerrod about, just two seconds ago. One word was all she could say? She had to break the ice, the Gryffindor was the one that followed him after all. "Um, how have you been?" Riley asked sweetly. The nerves in her stomach were killing her, it was like someone had let loose a thousand butterflies in there. Riley nervously placed her hand over her stomach, hoping to stop the butterflies, whilst trying to seem natural.

Jerrod shrugged. He at least wanted to act like he didn't care any more. If he showed his real feelings then everyone in the school would know by tomorrow how much of a soppy idiot he was and he wanted to keep his slytherin bad boy rep that he'd held up for all these years, even when Shay enjoyed hurting him and Lily. He wasn't about to let the rep drop now. Not with only a few months till he finished at the stupid school and he could finnally follow his father's footsteps.
Jerrod couldn't help but stare into Riley's beautiful brown eyes as he said "Not bad. How about yourself??" He felt like he should be having awkward feelings right now but all he felt was love for the girl who had changed his life and he couldn't even tell her because he was too stuck up aboit his appearance.

Riley noticed the shrug that Jerrod did and she dropped her eyes to the ground. The Gryffindor should have expected it coming, she couldn't have expected him to wait for her, or to still like her. Riley had walked away from him, away from the relationship they had. Sure, Jerrod had made it easy for her by being mean, but he hadn't exactly asked her to go.
The Red Head looked up to Jerrod and noticed his blue eyes looking at her. She couldn't help but get lost in them, though she knew she shouldn't. Riley closed her eyes for a brief second before forcing a smile and looking back at Jerrod. "Um. Yeah, I - I guess I've been alright." She said, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. Riley didn't know what else to say to him. She was disappointed that their reunion was not going too well, so she thought on her feet. "So, how-how is your mom going?" Riley stuttered out, remembering his mother wasn't doing well a couple of years ago. It seemed a stupid conversation to have at the moment, so after a moment Riley quickly spilled. "I don't want to be an Auror anymore." Her eyes hopefully searched Jerrod's in hope of love left in his eyes.

Jerrod had been about to answer that his mum was no longer the problem but before he could get anything out Riley spoke again. Her words went through him and warmed up every inch of his body. She didn't want to be an auror. That meant the two of them could be together again. There was no way she could do anything about his hopes and dreams if she wasn't going to follow her's. Well, she could go to the aurors but then who'd believe a seventeen year old girl?? He tried to look naturally as he attempted to speak but his throat felt so blocked up with happiness that he was struggling to get words out. "What do you want to be then??" He couldn't really imagine Riley being anything other than an auror. He'd spent the last two years having dreams about the two of them seeing each other when they're older and having to make a choice. He saw so many different situations of the two of them battling it out as auror and death eater that it had been plastered to his brain.

The Gryffindor's eyes searched Jerrod's face in hope to find a crack of emotion. Riley wasn't sure whether or not he would be happy about it, or if the damage had already been done. Jerrod was so good with hiding things, whether it be an emotion, or something he wanted; like his dream to be a Death Eater. Riley had grown up wanting to be like her brother, but the word 'Auror' had caused nothing but problems for her as of late. It was the cause for Riley and Jerrod's breakup, and the cause for her parent's divorce. There were just so many negative thoughts that came with that word, Riley was happy with her decision not to follow that career line. When Jerrod spoke, Riley listened to his words but couldn't make out his tone of voice. She desperately wanted to know what was going through his mind, but it was obvious he didn't want her too. Riley sighed, still looking at Jerrod before answering his question. "I, uh, I want to sing. But I, uh, always just want to be a mom." Riley said with a small smile on her face. The Gryffindor Prefect would give up everything to have a happy family, and to have a child of her own; she had even considered adoption during her times alone. Riley hadn't even considered being with anyone else but Jerrod; no other boy had any place in her heart. So without Jerrod being there, adoption was the only other option. "Do you still, want to do, you know - your thing?" Riley asked, unsure how to word it.

Jerrod had to think fast. This was his opportunity to either be with the girl he loved or to get her out of his life. He'd loved to grow up and marry her then have kids with her so he could watch the kids grow up and be like their mother. He loved the thought of spending the rest of his life with the person he loved the most and he loved the thought of being able to wake up next to someone as beautiful as Riley. However, the last time they'd been going out it had caused trouble in his family and the drama had only just calmed down after seven years of hell and chaos. He didn't want to give anyone a reason to stir it all back up again. Jerrod's mind swirled as he tried to think through all the pros and cons as fast as he could but before he could think about it properly his heart spoke for him. "Would you be a mum to children who are fathered by a death eater??" His heart pounded in his chest as he waited for a response from Riley. Was she going to accept him or smash it in his face and leave him heartbroken and embarrassed??

The Gryffindor Prefect continued to watch Jerrod, wondering how he was going to respond to the situation. Her fingers played nervously around a strand of her hair, her stomach still filled with butterflies. Riley supposed she had definitely thrown a spanner into the loop with letting know that she didn't want to be an Auror any more, but other than that, she didn't think she had said anything profound. Riley was confused and unsure what to say next, but Jerrod spoke instead. His words were bitter-sweet. It warmed her heart that he still wanted to be with her; that he wanted to be the father of her children! But it was also hard to know that he still wanted to be a Death Eater. Even if her dreams had changed, Riley wasn't fond at all of what they stood for. The red head felt her brown eyes start to fill up with tears. She was confused, but in love. Riley closed her eyes for a second and she dropped her hands to her side in complete surrender. The prefect looked up at Jerrod and licked her lips to wet them before slowly speaking.
"Jerrod, I love you. And, I would love for my children to be yours also." She paused briefly. "But, I can't know what you do. I just, can't. And there are some things I wouldn't want my children to know either. I want a happy world for them..." She trailed off. Riley knew that she was being selfish. Selfish for her self and for her future kid. But there was just a type of evil in the world, that if she were not fighting, she would prefer to remain ignorant to.

Jerrod understood where she was coming from. He knew that even though she didn't want to be an auror, her brother still was and Riley loved him. He knew how hard it would be for Riley to look past what her brother fought for and to love Jerrod. "Then don't tell them." The words had come out of his mouth before he had thought it through. He had always imagined having a son that he could train into the ways of the death eaters. Now that it had already come out of his mouth, he realised that he would much rather be with Riley than have a death eater son. He'd much rather have Riley's kids than have death eaters that were mothered by someone he didn't actually love. "I won't tell you anything that's happening or what I'm up to. I will get a normal job as well as being a death eater and we can talk about that. Our kids don't need to know anything about it and we can make up excuses if they ask questions. I can be a death eater and keep everything about it away from you and them and I'll make sure Dervish does as well." He sighed as he imagined his future unravelling before his eyes.

Riley scrunched her face in confusion when Jerrod said not to tell them. Was he being serious? Her hand moved up and nervously started twirling her hair again as she watched Jerrod speak. The Gryffindor couldn't believe that after two years of loneliness, this was happening so fast. A smile grew on her chapped lips as she half listened to Jerrod. All that was on her mind was how happy she was. Not the fact that she was getting involved with someone that was potentially dangerous to herself and her family; or that he wanted to be something her family stood against. All she could think about was the love that she was feeling.
Riley's hand abandoned her hair, and she found her arms quickly laced around Jerrod's neck. Riley pulled him forward and kissed him. She had been longing for this moment for quite awhile, and to have him now, his lips against hers, was pure bliss.

Jerrod stopped breathing when Riley put her arms around his neck. His hands automatically went around her waist as she kissed him. It was a huge shock for him but a good one. He was so relieved that she had accepted him after everything he had put her through. At least it proved that she really loved him. Only true love would be that unbreakable. Jerrod let the air out of his lungs as he parted their lips and looked down at Riley. "Am I to take that as a yes??" The smile on his face was ear to ear. It had been a while since he had been this happy. The hole that he felt when he'd walked away from Riley had suddenly been filled. He could feel whole again. After so long. "Now just to see Lily's reaction. That's not something I'm looking forward to." No matter what her reaction was, Jerrod loved Riley and he wasn't going to throw her away like a piece of rubbish the way he had last time. He was going to cherish her the way he should have been these last two years.

The Prefect smiled when she saw Jerrod's grin. It made her feel incredibly happy and special that she had someone that loved her so much. Riley held her hands around Jerrod and hugged him from a moment, loving the feeling of being in his arms again. The Gryffindor moved her hands down to Jerrod's waist and took a step back, looking at him as he spoke. A small frown played upon her lips as he spoke of his sister. The only time Riley had ever met his sister ended in Riley crying and Lily punching Jerrod. Riley hoped his sister had grown up somewhat from the last time they met but she couldn't help but worry. Riley wondered if he'd keep her a secret from Lily. Instead of voicing her worries, Riley asked a different question. "How do you think your whole family will react?" Riley asked, trying to keep her voice calm and clean of worry.
Their relationship would of course prove problems their whole lives, but Riley was so in love that she didn't care. As long as Jerrod loved her, and stayed with her, she would be happy.

Jerrod shrugged slightly. "Mum's given up on keeping all of us on the path our Dad wanted. She just focuses on the people she knows will. Mainly Dervish. Everyone else has moved away to go in their own direction so the only person you'd have to worry about it Lily." Jerrod didn't want to worry Riley so he didn't mention her mood swings. He guessed she would probably find out sooner or later but for now he just loved seeing how happy she was. She was so beautiful. "Anyway, they're not important. All I care about is your happiness." He did care about his family but he'd been growing distant from them so didn't really care what any of them thought of him.
