Skating was one of the two things that helped clear Skylar's mind. Skating and reading. During the Christmas holidays his father and a few of his out-of-school house mates had brought him gifts, one of which was a brand new skateboard. Having spent the majority of his time back holed up in his room he had specifically set aside time to practice and ride the new board, knowing the corridors would be perfect for such an activity.
The second year Ravenclaw had waited until it was dinner time again, using one of the only times the corridors would be scarce, so he could avoid seeing people and better yet professors. He didn't know if it was rule breaking, if anything he could say he was practicing a muggle ritual if asked, but he always thought it best to be discrete if possibly rule breaking.
Whizzing down the hallways the only faces he came across were those of long gone ghosts and the portraits he zoomed past. He must have startled one of the ghosts as he heard it yell, but turning around to check was a big mistake as he passed through another ghost and it felt as if icy water was thrown over him as he hurtled towards a wall at an incredible speed.
Jumping clear of the board he rolled away just as it slammed into the wall, leaving a pretty deep dent. Shaking himself off he checked himself for bruises and went to retrieve his board.
