Isaiah was happily reading his book in the dorm when the sun began streaming in through the window. He had planned to sit in the dorm room and read all day, but had in the end changed his mind. He had thought, that because the sun was now shining in the room that he was happily going to be able to read outside. It had been cloudy earlier. No rain, but it had definitely been much cloudier. He glanced out the window and looked for an area that he could go. it was a little annoying because there were just so many places that he wanted to go. He didn't know where the best area would be to read his book outside. He sat down on his bed and closed over the book. Glancing around at the slightly darkened dorm room. he was the only one left that day. His dark green eyes moved between all the beds. He hadn't really met most of his roommates yet. He was really yet to run into them. Happily the boy realised that despite not really knowing them yet, it was probably a good thing. He was definitely looking forward to getting to know them when the opportunity came up. Which was why, he realised that he should go somewhere else. The boy took his book and after slipping on his shoes wandered out of the dorm room.

Happily the boy wandered down the many stairs to exit the school. He wanted to go outside, but he wanted to go out there before it started raining, or before it clouded over again and was therefore no long nice enough for him to be able to go outside. He didn't want to venture too far out incase it did rain, and his book and himself therefore would get wet. He finally reached the ground floor, but instead of just heading straight out to the grounds, the boy realised there was a place he could go. He decided that he would go to the courtyard, he'd seen it a few times but had not yet spent any time at it. Which was why, it felt like a pretty good idea now. He sat down near the back of the courtyard and took out his book. Placing it down on his lap and then taking a few moments to just glance around him. He looked at the castle in front of him. This was nice, this was definitely nice. He pulled the wand out of his pocket and held it tightly in his hands. He smiled slightly at it, he really loved the wand. It just looked so good. He loved every part of it. He gave it a small wave, but of course with no spells to utter it didn't do anything. The only spell he could do was Lumos, and that felt a little silly constantly practicing that. However, despite this being said, Isaiah did just start lighting up his wand and then putting it back out. Doing it again and again. Magic didn't grow boring to him. He had maybe had a lot of second thoughts about the school, but not the wand, or the magic.

Jasper was in the Gryffindor Common room and he was desperate to get some fresh clean air. He had his Gryffindor robes on and his lighter in his right pocket, he was not going to show it to anyone, most people were already thinking he was a nut job. Jazz did not care, he loved all of his lighters every forty three of them. He had no clue how to get to the other outside places of Hogwarts, but he knew how to get to the Courtyard. He arrived there fast enough and found it filled with other students. Some of them were reading books other just chitchatting away. Jasper had no clue what to do he was a muggleborn after all. His wand seemed useless to him, he could flick, wave, throw the thing and still nothing would happen. He could burn it and make a nice bonfire out of it, but that just seemed horrible. The weather today was lovely and the sun was burning semi bright, he liked the sun and this weather was perfect. Unfortunately, his magnifying glass was still resting in the common room, so he could not use that now.

When Jazz saw a boy lighting his wand on fire, his interests got sparked. ''Cool'' Jazz said not looking at the boy, but still staring at the fire. It was more of a vibrant colour of light, but it still looked really cool. He was fascinated by the light and every time it went out, he hoped he would relit it again. Once he had enough courage to speak to the boy, he walked up to the Ravenclaw boy. ''Nice spell'' Jazz said to the boy with one hand in his pocket holding his lighter for some form of safety. He hoped that this boy would talk to him and they could have a normal conversation. ''Do you think you can teach it to me?'' Jasper said on a pretty soft tone. ''I also want to light my wand on fire.'' He quickly muttered after.

Hope you don't mind me joining in!

James loved the outdoors, it was his favourite place in the castle. But today, he wanted to sit out a bench in the courtyard, and either draw, or just study the scenery. So, he took his sketch pad and charcoal set, a gift from his cousin, and went to the courtyard to take a look for any free seating. This late in the day, there was little of it, and so James had to make do with sharing a bench with two other First years, intent on making as much light as possible it seemed. Just as James was getting settled in for a quick sketch of the gargoyle on the side of the building, the young Gryffindor asked the Ravenclaw about how to set his wand alight.

James, angered by the disruption to his usual peaceful drawing session, put aside the burning rage in his gut, and turned to the boy.
"It's very simple really. Just say Lumos and move your wand like so." James demonstrated the movement, and his wand lit up with light. "To turn it off, just say Nox." James was about to ask them to quieten down, and return to his drawing when a thought suddenly occurred to him. He reached into his special snitch-decorated book bag and pulled out a small glass jar, an old storage place for his charcoal - now kept in a metal case. He held it up so the boy could see it, then placed his wand at the edge, and muttered an incantation under his breath. A bluebell coloured flame appeared in the jar, followed by more and more, until there was a raging fire. He gave the glass to the boy, and told him about the charm. "If you work hard in Charms, then you can learn this bluebell flames charm. Just pay attention in class! Oh and by the way, you can't put it out with water!" Satisfied that the boy had enough distractions to be quiet for a while, James turned and faced the gargoyle again to concentrate on the sketch pad.

Not at all!
Isaiah wasn't really the type of person who noticed all the things around him. He had a very poor grasp on most things when he got distracted by something. Which was why he hadn't noticed that there was a boy a little older sitting not too far from him, or even a boy his age pretty close to him. Isaiah was just lighting his wand up and then putting it off. It was an incredibly simple spell but he hadn't been able to learn it until he'd come to Hogwarts, which was a good thing he guess because his entire family might've found it annoying if all he did was light up his wand all the time. He was just annoyed, to a certain extent that he couldn't show his younger siblings the magic he could do. Since students weren't allowed to preform magic outside of school. Which was exactly what Isaiah wanted to do. It was a little annoying since his siblings would arrive in the school, when he was a fifth year, and only then would he be able to teach them anything. He could of course just be homeschooled which would allow him to not have to worry that much over what was going on with his family, and he could preform magic too. But of course, he realised this was a little bit impossible. He didn't have anyone to teach him.

Suddenly a voice spoke in front of him, and Isaiah's dark green eyes glanced up at the person, who was not looking at him, but at the wand in his hand. It was lit up with the lumos spell, but frowned slightly as the boy spoke further. He looked at the light on his wand, this wasn't a fire. it was just a light, like a flashlight or a torch. He was about to tell the boy as much when he glanced over at another boy who was an older student who was showing them how to do it. Isaiah didn't think it was think person's place to say anything. It wasn't like the younger Gryffindor had asked him. He'd asked Isaiah, and Isaiah had been about to tell him as much, when he continued talking, handing them a jar of fire that couldn't be put out by the usual method of water. Isaiah placed the wand down beside himself and took the jar from the elder student. "Thanks" he told him, with a small smile. Before looking up at the boy in front of him. "Lumos doesn't create fire, it just creates light. This is fire" He held it out to the other boy. "I'm Isaiah" he told both of them, though he wasn't sure how much the elder boy would want to know such a thing, perhaps he was looking for peace, it was just a pity, Isaiah thought that he attended a school where everyone boarded and of course were allowed everywhere. "You're a Gryffindor right?" He asked him, unsure as to if to also direct the question at the older student too.

James had just finished the body of the gargoyle when he heard the Ravenclaw speak again. Irritated, and realising that he wouldn't get any peace to draw alone until they left, he decided to put away his charcoal. When Isaiah introduced himself, James decided that the boy wasn't so bad after all. Irritating as he might be, he was only a curious young child. Typical of those Ravenclaws thought James. He himself believed firmly that knowledge was important, but that it wasn't as important to attain as bravery and honour. Typical Gryffindor views he mused.

"Yes, I am a Gryffindor. Took you long enough to see the red stripes on my robe. And if you must know, I'm James." It was a pity thought James that his anger had risen over a small annoying boy, who had done nothing wrong except to disturb him. But now that his anger had surfaced, James doubted it would return to normal levels before a few hours. Knowing he'd do something stupid if he remained around them - jinx them most likely - James got up, and headed back to the Gryffindor tower, hoping that somebody would be there to play a game of Wizard's Chess with him to calm him down.

Thought I'd better RP making myself scarce as I'm going on holiday tomorrow, and won't be able to RP.
