Reconciliation

Daisy made her way down the stairs to the living room with the children. She took a deep breath, then turned to face their visitors. "Hello Mother, Valcan. Glad to see you." She lead the children into the room, walking over to Lief and handing Annika to him. She was very much a daddy's girl and Daisy figured that she would be most comfortable by her father. She smiled at him, knowing this was difficult for him too. She then picked up Anders and crossed to the sofa, noticing that it seemed to be left open for her and assumed this was where she was expected to sit.

She looked at her mother and realized that she looked different somehow. She couldn't quite put her figure it out, but she was different somehow. "Anders, Annika, this is your grandmother and your grandfather."

Lief's smile was small as she entered the room, looking positively great, as she had every Christmas. If he would have to endure his relatives at least he had her here. He set his daughter on his lap, watching to see how everyone would react to each other. This was definitely something new for the twins.

Valcan nodded to Daisy as she entered the room, forcing a rather warm smile onto his face for the grandchildren. Kids didn't like grouches, from what he had heard. He knew that he would have to make a positive influence on the children in order to gain a closer bond with him. Relationships were not his forte however. Not with close family. "Good afternoon," he stated, knowing that this time was more for Sarah and her daughter than anything.

Annika sucked on her thumb thoughtfully as she watched the proceedings, looking around with wide eyes. The man sitting in the chair next to them was rather big. "Fat man," she said, pointing to her grandfather and nodding her head as a matter of factly. Crawling off of Lief's lap she moved over to sit on Valcan's, smiling broadly. She looked to Sarah. "Pretty," she stated, pointing to her grandmother and sucking on her thumb again.

Anders settled in on his mother's lap and tried to decide how he was going to act. He was a bit shy of how big the man next to his father was, but was not scared of the lady next to him. He sat quiet and calculating, watching his sister's actions.
