It wasn't often that Ryan felt like his sister had very good ideas. It wasn't that she was stupid, in fact Ryan was certain it was the opposite, and Nicole definitely knew more about people than Ryan ever could get, but she rarely seemed very invested in her own good ideas than she could be. But she'd actually managed to come up with something interesting earlier while the two of them had been working on homework together (well, Nicole had been working on homework, Ryan was reading about fresh water aquatic life). Nicole had mentioned covering Stonehenge in History of Magic, explaining the theory she was working on for an essay about how it had been constructed. The whole thing had immediately piqued Ryan's interest, and while Nicole seemed ready to dismiss it the second her essay was finished, Ryan wasn't able to let go of an interesting idea so quickly.

He'd made his way outside, picking along the lakefront looking for suitably big rocks. Levitating them into the right shape couldn't be that hard, and Ryan had already found a few suitable stones and wedged them onto a flat space not too far from the shore. It had been a bit harder to find one long enough to bridge between the two he'd set up, but Ryan was carefully lifting one likely candidate about the side of his arm, trying to focus both on his levitation spell and on eyeballing the gap between the stone's he'd set up. He'd also seen some interesting creatures crawling around under the rock too he'd need to come back too, which wasn't helping Ryan's focus one bit as he swung the rock around.

Casper was slowly trying to build up the courage to talk to more people. The boys in his dorm were all very nice, but all seemed very involved in the other kids outside of the dorm and didn't seem to have much attention left over for him. He had found out Linden was dating someone- a boy, and Casper was sure that Lucas liked someone too, and sometimes Casper had thought he'd seen Emerson looking to him but Casper never seemed to be able to catch him alone. Other than Augustus and Stanislaw, who were respectively his cousins best friends, he knew he needed to get out and find something of his own.

He didnt dare say it out loud, but the longer he was away at school, the more Casper realized how scary having his life laid out for him was. His parents weren't bad people- they were generally very nice and caring. They just... They were set on what he should be and what he could do, and it terrified him to think he would disappoint them. Maybe he just needed to be more outgoing. He was sure of it. If he did, maybe he could stop the secret, longing glances to the boys around him and maybe he could see how pretty the girls were.

That was why he'd left his sketchbook in his dorm and wandered outside, hoping to find something- someone new he could talk to. He spotted someone he didn't know but vaguely recognized. Something about the look in his eyes reminded him of Addison. Stopping a little bit aways, Casper swallowed nervously. "H-hello," he stuttered.

Focusing intently on balancing his rocks, Ryan had just assumed the person talking must have been talking to someone else, so initially ignored it. He'd just manage to line things up in what he hoped was the best position, dropping his wand and letting the rock settle, but unfortunately without the magical support, it simply rolled off, too rounded and uneven to lay flat on the other two rocks he'd managed to wedge upright. Huffing in frustration, Ryan turned, realizing that the student nearby had apparently been speaking to him. That or someone invisible. "What?" He asked flatly, glancing around just to be sure they were alone, though if someone else was here and invisible, Ryan's eyes weren't going to be of much help.

Casper bit his lip as he watched the boy work. The rock he was working with, Casper could tell it was too rounded. He looked around, finding one that was more suitable for what the boy was trying. He had just picked it up, moving back towards the boy when the boy turned to him. "Um, um," He blushed, looking down. He held out the rock like an offering. "T-this one s-should work," he managed shyly, glancing up at the other boy through his hair.

Ryan stared at the boy for a moment, digesting what he'd said before glancing down at the rock in his hands. "Too small, help me get a bigger one," He settled on, content to have another set of hands. It would be easy to levitate and direct the rocks with a second person and there were a few larger stones Ryan hadn't been confident he could move closer to the lake. He didn't know if having two people levitate the same object made things any easier, but he supposed he could have his new helper help lift the old fashioned way if they had to. "What's your name?" He called over his shoulder, already moving over to the larger stones. Ryan knew he'd seen this kid in their classes, but he rarely paid attention to other people's names, something Nicole kept telling him was rude but he just couldn't be bothered to delegate mental space for it.

Casper's eyes widened, and he scrambled to quickly help the other boy with the rock, setting the one he had down. "Casper," He told the other boy. "M-my name is Casper." He stuttered nervously, hurrying after Ryan over to the bigger stones. "I can help, what do you need?" He asked, his voice a little more sure. Casper could help, he was a good helper! He tried to ignore how soft the other boys hair looked, focusing instead on the rocks and walking over to another one similar to the one he had, only bigger. "What about this one?" He asked, looking back to the other boy with hopeful blue eyes.

Ryan did his best to remember the name 'Casper', though his focus was on scanning the nearby rockpile for a good one for them to use. It was good that Casper was down to help at least, and Ryan squinted at the one Casper pointed out, measuring it with his thumb and then looking back over at the two other stones he'd already managed to wedge upright. "Yeah that should work. Do you think if we both levitate it it'll move easier?" He said, half talking to himself as he pulled out his wand again to start lifting the rock.

Casper blinked, looking back to the stone. "I... think so?" He offered, taking out his own wand and joining with the spell. He couldn't tell really if it helped or not, but he stayed focused, wanting to be useful to the other boy. He kept close to the boy, mirroring his movements and doing his best to be helpful. He bit his lip, focusing on what they were doing.

Ryan tried to notice if the stone seemed lighter when Casper joined him in levitating it, but mostly it just became harder to control, twisting one way then the other as they each tried to over-correct each other while they moved. It was more frustrating than anything and Ryan huffed and dropped his wand as they got close enough to the other rocks he'd propped up, not bothering to warn Casper or see if he was still levitating the rock. "It's pretty easy to move rocks with magic, I don't see why everyone thinks Stonehenge is so mysterious," Ryan said, taking a moment to look at the two rocks he'd wedged upright before motioning Casper to levitate the rock onto the two of them "You lift it, I'll direct," He told him, waving his arms again impatiently. It was nice to have another set of hands but it meant Ryan had to articulate his thoughts, which was annoying.

Casper wasn't sure if they were really making much difference with them both levitating it. He wobbled a little when Ryan dropped his wand, but kept steady. He almost glanced to the other boy when he spoke about Stonehenge but he kept his eyes on the rock. "Maybe the bigger the object is, the stronger the spell needs to be," He offered. "Stonehenge was pretty big," He murmured. He nodded, following Ryan's directions as he moved the rock to where the other boy wanted it.
