Rosalind had been locked up in her dorm room all day reading about DADA and Potions. The classes had been dull. All the professors talked about was rules. She understood it was because it was the first day, but that didn't stop the fact that she wanted to learn more about those subjects. She had read so many pages, she decided to take a break and walk to the lake.
She liked being outside. The fresh air and the beauty of nature made her feel at home. Earth, in fact, was one of her favorite elements. Her other was fire since it represented her personality. Rosalind even thought fire was pretty. She sat by the lake indian style with one foot tucked under the opposite leg's thighs. She could see the Forbidden Forest in the distance, promising herself she'd go in there soon. There had to be a reason it was "forbidden", a reason that promised her adventure. She was determined to find out what the reason was.

Ryuuji was bored, extremely bored at that. His day had been uneventful, what with the continues introduction of the students in classes, as well as the rules that the professors that always managed to remind them. not that he dislike it. it's just that, he wanted to quicken things up, he wanted to learn, he wanted to make use of his wand already.

With a yawn, Ryuuji decided to take a walk by the grounds. It had always been a cross in his life to be too energetic that he cannot really let himself stay without nothing to do. Looking around the milieu for anything that could possibly interest him, Ryuuji caught sight of the lake. It had been said that there was a giant squid residing there, he hardly believe rumors, but in the world where he was moving right now, nothing was really impossible, no matter how ridiculous the idea may sound. Making a run, he quickly approached the lake, not giving a second glance to the girl who had happened to be sitting there as well. He kneeled just near it, too near that a slight push would result to him falling off the lake.

Taking her attention away from the Forbidden Forest, she turned to see what had disturbed her thoughts. She saw a boy not too far away from her kneeling by the lake. He looked like he was around her age, and she brightened at the idea that would distract her from her boredom.
"Hi," she said to him. "The lake seems interesting to you too, hmm? I'm Rosalind." She wondered what house he was in. Rosalind didn't remember him from the common room, and she was an observant person. She hoped he wasn't in Slytherin, since they were mostly rude, but some of them actually were nice. Though, he didn't give off a bad vibe or anything so Rosalind pushed the thought of him being a vulgar person aside.

Ryuuji almost fall to the lake as he heard a voice behind him. Luckily enough, thanks to his athletic reflexes, he had avoided that unfortunate thing to happen. Turning around quickly as he could, he finally registered who it was that had just spoken. Supposedly, it was the girl that he didn't bother to look at before. "It does look interesting, I mean, it seemed to hold quite a lot mysteries..." He said casually, casting a small glance at the lake before giving his full attention to the girl.

She was definitely not from his house, he had already met some of those students there and and seen a lot of them and he was sure that she was not one. He had a pretty sharp memory after all, and he's rather observant, well, if he wanted to. realizing that she had introduced herself, he stated his name as well. "Ryuuji, that's my name.." He said with a sheepish smile, extending his hand for a handshake, an act that was probably too formal yet he decided to do still.

Rosalind had to hold back a chuckle when he almost fell into the lake. But, it seemed his reflexes were good enough to prevent that. Rosalind nodded. The lake did seem pretty mysterious. It was part of what drew her to the lake in the first place. "It does. Especially about a certain giant squid and mermaids," she said. Rosalind actually believed the rumors a bit. Though, she wouldn't admit she did unless she had the proof laid out in front of her.
When he stuck out his hand, she smiled at his formality. Even though the shake was too formal for her taste, she put her hand in his and shook it. "Polite, are you?" She said, liking the fact that he had good manners.

"Precisely, that's why I'm here actually, to check whether the rumors are true.." Ryuuji said with a shrug, laughing at how pathetic he may have sounded. It's true though, that was precisely the reason why he was there, to see whether there really was a giant squid in that lake. He then shook his head in disagreement as the girl commented on how polite he was. "Nah, not really, I'm not polite, It's just a habit I guess.." He replied. He was just used to such gestures, they do that a lot of times at their hometown after all, and of course, there was also this "bowing" thing that most people in the place where he is currently living now finds weird.

Rosalind smiled. "Well, I don't know if we'll have much success from here. Squids prefer deep water, though that might not apply in the wizarding world," she said. Rosalind was a half-blood, yes. But the only things she knew had came from her father. Not only that, but she lived in the muggle world apart from wizards. Rosalind looked back into the water, thinking that there must be something to help explore the depths of the lake.Though, the punishments would probably be very severe. Sure, she broke the rules a lot. But when a consequence like expulsion came up, she had enough common sense to stay out of trouble. "It's a good habit to have," she responded.

"I guess you're right.." Ryuuji said with a shrug, sighing as he let himself lay on the soft grass, head being cushioned by his hand. He had really thought that seeing the giant squid would somehow get rid of his boredom, but he guess that that was not the solution. He didn't want to return to their common room as all he'd be able to do there is read, and at the moment, he's in no spirit to do so. "What can I do now?" He said softly, more to himself rather than the girl with him. He really is bored and he'll do anything to be entertained.

Even though he seemed like he had said it more to himself than her, Rosalind looked at the Forbidden Forest. She really wanted to explore it. Even if they did get caught, she'd deal with the consequences. Though, she didn't plan on getting a detention. She didn't realize how badly she wanted to go in it until now. It'd be much better to go in with someone else, too.
She looked at Ryuuji, trying to see if he was the type of guy that would break the rules. He didn't seem like it. He must be a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw, though it seemed more like Ravenclaw given that he came to the lake to seek out the validity of the rumors. "Well, I've got an idea. You don't mind breaking the rules, do you?" She asked, a mischievous smirk on her face.

Ryuuji sat up abruptly as he heard the girl's question. From her tone and expression, it is real obvious that she was planning something, whatever it was, he was really interested. "Breaking the rules? i don't mind really.. especially now.." He said with an equal smirk, feeling excited at whatever it is that she was about to say. "Why? Do you have any idea to get rid of boredom?" He inquired, the mischievous smirk still plastered on his fair face.

Rosalind's smile widened and she pointed her thumb towards the Forbidden Forest. "I've never been in it. I've heard rumors and such, but I'd like to see for myself why it's forbidden," she said. Rosalind was excited now, and a bit of adrenaline started shooting through her veins. "It'd have to be at night though," she said, her smile falling a bit. "We don't want to get caught. Just a couple of hours."

Ryuuji cannot help but to feel a real rush of excitement through his whole system. The girl's idea was really interesting, though if they were caught, the consequence would be grave. Nevertheless, being who he was, he didn't really care about being caught if it means that he'll be able to discover something, probably the ravenclaw in him, he wanted to explore and learn those that haven't been learned before. "That sound's dangerous... BUT great, really great.." He exclaimed, a confident appearing in his usually calm face.

"We'll meet at night?" He then inquired excitedly, the thought of going out at the middle of the night to explore somewhere that is forbidden is a very exhilarating for he, he loves adventures as well as the thrill. "Where?"
