Ares was used to a big open space, the greenery stretching ahead of him as far as he could see. He was accustomed to it being on the doorstep of his home, of being able to finish his breakfast before leaving the house for a stroll, or just to be by himself. That was where his home and Hogwarts differed. There was an abundance of creatures in his house at home, various animals that his father had rescued and his mother had revitalized, but there seemed to be a lack of anything beyond other kids out in this garden. The first year had spent his life homeschooled with his three sisters, and given they were all older than him, Ares was accustomed to having one leave every couple of years, until the home had just been his and his parents. Now there was no escape, not just from his sisters but from every other snotty child that roamed the castle. Not used to having so many people around him all the time, Ares had hoped the garden would offer him some peace and quiet, but it seemed there would be fat chance of that happening any time soon, a prospect that was driving him up the wall.
Leaving his robes in his dorm and opting for something a little more comfortable, the boy had made his way outside in his brand new sneakers, jeans, and a fresh checkered shirt; gifts from his mother who had worried he'd feel uneasy starting school. If Ares was forced to bond with these people, then he was going to do it on his own terms. So far those he'd met at the school hadn't really proven themselves to be very useful to him beyond entertainment, but maybe that's all Ares needed to get through the days. Like the creatures he would sit at home and observe, now he was just observing the other students instead. It wasn't long before someone had caught his eye, and never being one to hide his emotions, the brunette's face turned to instant disgust, as he stared down at the sight in front of him.
