Arisa walked up to the lake with her book and blanket. It had gotten to noisy in the commen room so she decided to go see the lake. It seemed like a good idea. She set down the blanket and pulled out her book. She loved to read but haddent had the time to in a while.
 
Rain had been Extremely bored, she had swum and jumped, and had nothing else to do, life as a mermaid isnt all the fantastic.
she surfaces not far off the banks of the lake, gazing across is she spotted a girl, Friend she thought. Rain dived under water and quickly sped up to the lake bank, she pulled herself up onto the bank so her tail was still in the water, Rain Grinned Widely at the girl, trying not to talk,
 
Arisa heard a splashing in the water so she looked up from her book and there was a mermaid "Oh my gosh! your a mermaid" Arisa said surprised, she heard that they were in the lake but had never seen one before.
 
Rain Grinned widely,she opened her mouth to speak, but stopped, she signalled for the girl to follow here, she quickly slid back into the water turning quickly, she sped off into some deeper water before flipping out of the water, showing off, waving for the girl to come in.
 
Arisa noticed that the mermaid wanted her to go into the lake. Arisa did love swiming so she but her wand in her bag and jumped in after her. She swam over not even half as fast as the mermaid but still pretty fast. "Im Arisa" Arisa said once she caught up to the girl.
 
Rain grinned and pointed down, she quickly dived under water and waited for the girl to follow before continuing,
"Hi, I'm Rain, i'm sorry i dont want to hurt your ears by speaking above water" she said with a grin "whats your name?"
 
Arisa smiled "I'm Arisa" Arisa said getting as little water as possiable before going to the surface to get air and diving back down. "Rain is a pretty name"
 
Rain Smiled, "thanks, Arisa is a very pretty name aswell" she said in a melodic tune, "i really wish i could talk to you above water, then you wouldnt have to keep on resurfacing"
 
Arisa went up again before coming down "Oh I dont mind I havnt been swiming in forever, this is just like the times me and my friends used to have contests to see who could stay down the longest" Arisa said smiling. This was fun she had always wanted to meet a mermaid.
 
Rain did a quick circle of Arisa quickly studying her, "I'd love to talk above water though, i never can, its just a... well hard to explain" Rain said grinning, "Well you have a choice of swimming, i have swimming thats it" Rain pointed to her Shimering Blue and black tail
 
Arisa went to the sufac for air and came back down "I love your tail its beautiful, but i guess swiming everywhere would get pretty boring" Arisa said looking at rain, she really was enjoying herself, she hoped Rain was too.
 
Rain Smiled, "Thanks, i... err.... Like your legs?" Rain Laughed "Swimming does get boring, but i can do tricks... i guess that makes it fun, and i am fast, but i recon one day i will Jump and hit land, and not make it back in, or i will be on the lake edge and some Stupid student will pull my out of the water, always a fear" she continued to admire Arisa, quickly doing another circle,
 
Arisa laughed with Rain Arisa wanted to test how fast she could go "Wanna race?" Arisa asked with a smirk on her face. She started darting around under the water waiting for Rain's responce.
 
Arisa laughed "Well thats what i said" Arisa said smiling, she knew she had no chance but it was still fun. She went up for air and came back down again.
 
Arisa looked around. "How about from here to that rock" Arisa said pointing at a big rock that was about half a kilometer away. "She went up for one last breath of air before heading back down and saying "ready set go!" And she was off.
 
Rain smiled "As you wish" She watched Arisa Swim off, Quickly Rain quickly flicked her tail, she went flying through the water, she had to show off, she came up and did a flip out of water before diving back in, Rain came up along side Arisa, "Is that the fastest you can go"
 
Arisa laughed and pushed a little faster kicking her legs with more speed. She was almost half way there.
 
Rain Laughed, she moved and started swimming loops around Arisa, she sped off to the rock, swimming up again doing another Flip in the air before diving back down and sitting on the rock, she grinned as she watched Arisa come to the finish, "HURRY UP SLOW POKE" she yelled at her, laughing slightly
 
Arisa laughed as Rain clearly showed off how fast she was. Once she was at the rock Arisa swam up to the suface for a much needed breath of air. Once she was down again "Yeah i was slow but with my muggle friends i was fast." Arisa said laughing thinking off her friends and how they used to get when they lost. "You know i like it down here alot better then flying" Arisa said thinking of her upcoming flying lesson.
 
Rain Laughed "And now you have raced a mermaid" she grinned, brushing her hair out of her face "Really, its strange, i'd love to fly, thats why i loke doing tricks, so i can feel the wind, other then that i sit on rocks"
 
"Well im terified of hights, i would much rather take swiming lesson" Arisa said "One time i almost fainted" Arisa said thinking of the first flying lesson where they had accually left the ground.
 
"Well i'd Love to Swim with you anytime, you can get faster swimming with me" Rain said with a grin, she would love to have company, apart from the occasional student she would scare by randomly saying hi, "I'll Swim with you around the lake, and take you to places around the lake, if your promise to find a teacher to teach you a spell, so that i can talk above water somehow" Rain said with a grin
 
"I'll try!" Arisa said thinking of which teacher to ask. "I cant wait to start!"
