Random Encounter

Sydney looked up and saw him go through the book. Her eyes widened as he flipped through the pages. First the picure of her owl, then her self portrait with her holding a muggle weapon she had seen before, finally the picture of her brother when he was quite a bit younger. After that she got up and jumped at him. Sydney grabbed hold of the book and glared at him, nails poised for attacking. "Give it back before I seriously have to hurt you." Her voice was dangerously calm and she was close enough for him to see the storm brewing in her eyes.

Even though he'd only had the book for a few seconds, he was quite pleased with what he had seen. The drawings were of good quality, and for her age, beautiful pieces of art. As he got to the final picture, she jumped at Monty. Monty was a bit frightened for a moment. He was locked into the drawings and really didn't even see her get up; even though he knew it was coming.

"Give it back before I seriously have to hurt you." Sydney said.

Monty wasn't trying to get hurt before the beginning of the school year. So he simply let go and allowed her to take it.

"Well, I thought they were very beautiful pieces of art." Monty stated, as he tried to keep his grace in his voice.

(I got to mow the lawn real quick)

(Okey doke)

Sydney snatched the book and put it on the floor next to her, which was now right in front of Alfie, facing Monty.

"It's not about how good it is, it's about how I'm not allowed to do it. You tell anyone and I am dead. I mean literally, my parents might actually kill me for doing it, if I find out anyone knows I will personally see to it that you tell anyone anything ever again."

Her anger towards Monty was coming from the fear of what her parents might do to her if they found out she was good at, and liked, a muggle past time. The fear spread out into her eyes, pushing the storm away. "Are we clear?"

He watched as she placed the pad close to her. He wasn't trying to be mean, and respected any thing she said. Monty admired her drawings, but it didn't matter, she didn't want anyone in that thing. He actually believes it was a pleasure to actually even have a glimpse at those drawings.

"It's not about how good it is, it's about how I'm not allowed to do it. You tell anyone and I am dead. I mean literally, my parents might actually kill me for doing it, if I find out anyone knows I will personally see to it that you tell anyone anything ever again." Sydney directed towards Monty.

He understood what she was saying. Monty thought it sucked to have parents like that, he loved the fact that his father wasn't anything like that. Then once again, his thoughts of his father being alone, damaged him once again.

Breaking Monty from his thoughts, Sydney said, "Are we clear?"

"Oh, very." Monty said, as he put his hands up and waved them back and forth. More or less motioning her not to do anything to him.

Sydney sighed. "Good. Now we are just going to forget any of this happened and move on with our lived." She moved back to where she was originally sitting. "Great, now I've forgotten where I was in the argument."

Monty stood up and dust himself off. He looked at both of them with a awkward face. He was more or less ready to get lost on the steps and run into more students. So far its been entertaining, Monty simply thought to himself.

"Well, I am off. It was good meeting you, Sydney. Hopefully, you can make your way out." Monty waved to the girl as he passed by her, followed with a modest chuckle.

He looked at the boy, still unaware of who he was, "Nice to meet you as well."

He made his way out of the corridor, going up to the next floor.

"Bye Monty, nice too meet you too." He replied before turning back to Sydney. He felt a pang of guilt for the girl who he had previously so intent on annoying. " Sydney, it's ok. Nobody's going to say anything." He said in a choked voice that was almost a whisper.

Sydney looked at Alfie. To her he appeared to be pitying her. "I don't want your pity." She spat. Sydney stood up and walked in the direction she had been heading in originally, un-knowingly leaving the pad on the floor infront of the boy that managed to get under her skin. She sighed as she walked, regretting mentioning what she had, they didn't need to know.

Alfie sat stunned as the girl had girl left. He had only tried to be nice and she threw it back in his face. Noticing the pad on the floor and picked it up. He was about to go after her but she was long gone. Seeing no reason to stay any longer he headed off back to the common room taking the pad with him. I'll give it back when i next see her...
