Paolo was feeling pretty giddy, having just finished sneaking a couple of brooms off with his fellow Ravenclaw 1st year Ava. It started off in a conversation they were having up in the Common Room, and Ava came up the rest of the plan and shared it with him. These were the kind of adventures he was looking forward to after his get his letter from Hogwarts. Having heard all kinds of fun stories from his parents and their days at the other Hogwarts, he couldn't wait to create some of his own memories at this one.

It all started with his new friend Ava. They had met at the Sorting Ceremony after they both were sorted into Ravenclaw. Paolo sat down next to her and the rest was history. The two first years got along great and he couldn't have asked for a better adventuring buddy! He couldn't wait to write to his sisters about all of this and his new friend.

The two arrived to the Courtyard where they planned to start flying around, seeing the grande sights of the castle and everything it had to offer in the landscape. They both knew they could get into some serious trouble for it, but it was worth it to both of them. Once the idea was brought up, they just ran with it. "So are you ready for this, Ava?" he asked, grinning at his friend.

Ava snuck along with Paolo, careful to watch her step and keeping an eye out for teachers. The sun was starting to set, so most students should be in their dorms. A little part of her mind told her this was a bad idea- but a much larger part told her that this was the perfect opportunity to see the castle and send her papa an even better painting, one with more details.

They made it to the courtyard without getting caught, and that left Ava in high spirits. So when Paolo turned to her with his Chesire grin and asked if she was ready, she gave him a bright smile in return. "Of course! Are you? There's no going back once we're in the air," she asked, trying to confirm his commitment.

"I was born ready for this!" Paolo laughed. He readied his broom and swung his leg around it. Jumping off the ground, he hovered slightly in the air above Ava. He had forgotten how exciting this was, and hoped he would be able to get more experience on a broom at school. His parents let him have a go on their brooms back at home, but he hadn't gotten a lot of time on them there. However, he figured him and Ava would be slowly flying around the castle, taking in the view. Nothing quick or fast-paced like a Quidditch match.

"Come on up Ava, the view is great up here," he said looking down to his friend. He couldn't wait to fly around with her.

Ava smiled brightly up at Paolo before mounting her own broom and rising up slowly after him, making sure she could still keep her balance. Once she was level with Paolo she flashed him a confident grin, raising a finger to her lips and shushing him playfully. "Quiet, silly, or we'll be caught." She winked playfully and started off on their flight, keeping a decent pace.

She looked around excitedly, and the higher they got the happier she was. The castle was stunning, beautiful. She tried to keep a careful eye out for any prying eyes, but it was hard to do when there was so much to be taken in. She glanced over to Paolo, her blue eyes sparkling.

Ava reminded him to be quiet. In all the excitement and going up into the air, he forgot they needed to be careful about getting caught! Paolo followed behind his friend a little bit, taking in everything. He figured he would let her lead the way since she was going to use the sights for inspiration for her paintings. He couldn't wait to see what she made from this. Everything was so beautiful up in the air, and he knew she would be able to capture it all.

"Wow, it's so amazing up here!" Paolo exclaimed. He grinned when she glanced back at him. "What do you think? See anything that inspires you?" he asked, looking all around and partially keeping an eye on any place someone might see them from. As fun as this was, he knew they had to be careful. They didn't know exactly how much trouble they could get in for doing something like this, but Paolo was having the time of his life so he didn't put much thought into that.

Ava pulled the magic camera her papa had given her from her pocket and began to take a few pictures. She wasn't sure she'd be able to do this again and she wanted to make sure she got it right. When Paolo asked if there was anything that inspired her, she looked around. It was all so pretty, but if she were to choose one thing to focus on... She chose quickly and veered, heading closer but attempting to stay near the courtyard, at least. She was adventurous, sure, but she didn't want to take on too much too soon. If a quick landing became necessary, she wanted to be able to do it safely. She pointed towards the towers and began to head in that direction. It was a good camera, so she didn't need to get really close, but she still needed to be closer than she was. Her focus was so intense that she didn't bother checking the nearby window before drifting in front of it.

Paolo watched as Ava took some pictures with her magic camera and followed her as she went off in another direction. She was smart to point and go rather than speak out loud, a good way to stay up there not causing any attention to them. He followed her around, keeping an eye on the ground below them. As they were soaring along they happened to pass by a window. Paolo noticed someone on the other side of the window and his heart sank.

The courtyard had been one of Flavio's favourite places to read, ever since his third year. It was a place he could get some fresh air and clear his head while listening to birds chirp in the distance. That evening he was in the mood to catch up on more reading of his own accord, before classes picked up fully again and all his reading would be related to his subjects. With a book about the nine muses in greek mythology in hand, he strolled around attempting to find the perfect window to read next to. He was pleased to quickly find a large open window with a bench underneath and sat down, opening the book he was holding to the page where he left off.

Though it was only a minute or two before he heard something usual and turned around to see not one, but two students that could not have been older that their first year hovering on brooms. It was not unusual for Flavio to be interrupted while reading in the courtyard but it was unusual to be interrupted by students flying nearby. His first reaction other than feeling shocked at the sight was worry, knowing that it was too early on in the semester for first years to ride brooms safely outside of their flying lessons. It was dangerous and there was a possibility they could injure themselves. Not every student began their learning at Hogwarts without experience in flying, and Flavio understood this, but he still knew that it wasn't safe for them and if he didn't say something first a professor likely would if they were seen by one. He shut his book, placing it on the bench next to him as he leaned slightly out the window, calling to the students. "First years should not be flying here. I suggest you get back inside before a professor finds you." He moved out of the way so they could return to the courtyard and land, ready to get a professor himself if they did not take him seriously.

Ava jumped as an unexpected voice broke her concentration, looking quickly to the side with big blue eyes. "Oh... H...hello," she greeted with a nervous smile. "It was my idea, I just wanted to get a better view of the castle." She told the older boy quickly, waving at the magnificent castle around them.

"Do... Do we really need to come down? We're going slow and I promise to be careful." She gave the older boy her best pleading look, though she was prepared to listen if he insisted.

Out of the two students that were flying, it was the blonde girl that spoke first. She tried to assure him they were being safe and despite how much he wanted to trust her, Flavio couldn't shake the worry something would go horribly wrong. No matter how slow they were flying, it did not change that they were flying at all and accidents could always happen. There was no way he was going to let them continue with the concern of their safety in his mind.

Flavio had never used his authority as a prefect before, but with the girl attempting to convince him she and her friend should continue flying, it seemed they were adamant to continue putting themselves in danger, and it was his only option to convince them to return to the ground without running to find a professor and risking them flying away to evade getting caught properly. "You have to come down. It is not safe." He insisted, taking a deep breath. "I am taking away points from both of you. Three from you because it was your idea, and two from him for going along with it." He looked between them as he spoke, trying to keep his tone of voice firm so they knew he was serious. "I do not want to take away more than that, but I will if you do not come inside right now."

Paolo was disappointed they had gotten caught so early, knowing there was so much more to see around the castle. He listened as Ava pleaded with the older boy below, and winced slightly as he heard them losing points for their house. It really sucked to lose points already before classes even began, but it was better than detention or worse...expelled. However they knew the risks going in, being the rambunctious youth that they were. "Fair enough," Paolo replied to the other boy about the house points. He turned to Ava and said, "let's head down, maybe we will get another chance when we're allowed to fly around." Landing next to the prefect, Paolo apologized to him and waited for Ava to land next to him.

Ava took her camera from around her neck and snapped a few quick pictures so that at the very least her trip wouldn't be pointless. She sighed and followed Paolo to the ground, looking up at the prefect that had caught them with big blue eyes. "Here you go," She offered him her broom. "We got them from the Quidditch Pitch." She told him, wondering if it was really as dangerous as he said.
