Pixie had been left to explore this new magical area, well, she'd been left to explore the harbour, but it had been loud and just....no. So she'd wondered into a street where the clouds seemed to suddenly keep all the sun away, where the buildings seemed darker. It was quieter, better. Pixie didn't know what this street held but it felt far more magical than the last one she'd been in. That had felt fake, like disney, this felt grimey, like an old brother's grimm story. The originals. She got the feeling it wasn't particularly safe...but it was nicer to her. She liked it, even if she wasn't really supposed to. She wouldn't turn back either determined to see where this street would take her. What wonders she might see as part of this simply magical dark place. Perhaps it wouldn't be any more magical or interesting as where she'd just been but it would still be better, there was none of that disgusting crowd.

Barnaby was having a rotten day. He did not like Bleak Street, and as far as he could tell, Bleak Street did not like him straight back. If he had his way, he wouldn't come within a mile of the place, but unfortunately a lot of the books he liked collecting tend to crop up in the more undesirable shops down here, so he little choice. He was already cursing the puddle he'd stepped in early, certain that despite his trousers being black, it was going to find a way to stain somehow, and now he was having to dodge children of all things in the street as well. "What are you doing out here, this isn't a place for kids," He said gruffly, looking around for some sort of parental figure so he could complain about the girl's presence properly. "Unless you want to get eaten by a hag I'd shove off," He added for good measure, adjusting the books in his arms and giving the girl a shooing motion with his free hand.

Pixie was enjoying her little wander, it was interrupted when an older man began scolding her for being around in this area. She didn't know what a hag was and she didn't really much care either. This was just a street, a normal street, it was just quiet, darker looking street no different from any of the other ones. She looked up at the man shook her head and rather than heading back, headed further down the street ignoring the man and not heading back.

Barnaby sputtered when the girl seemed to ignore his perfectly good advice, simply shaking her head and continuing on her way. "Alright, fine, fine, carry on then, silly me for caring. Clearly you know better," He muttered sourly, scrubbing a hand through his hair as she walked away. What did he care if some child decided they were just going to wander around Bleak Street, it'd be one less kid underfoot elsewhere. There were already plenty of those out and about with it being the school holidays and Barnaby couldn't wait for them all to be gone already so he could go back to wallowing in his own company in peace. Still, as eager as he was to vacate Bleak Street, he lingered just a moment, just to be sure the girl didn't immediately become hag food.
