At any point in a wizards life there are a number of decision which decide the future. Oscar Fossil was now with the ever prominent decision of what classes he would pick for the next year. He had no idea what would be a good thing and what be hard. Oscar wasn't sure of which choice would be best suited for his brain. The insane heat of the Ravenclaw dorm did not help towards his studying. Oscar wasn't the type to sit around on his own study but then, he knew that he had to catch up. Of course he was very much behind the rest of his year, but he was ever so slowly catching up. It was just each time he thought he was close to being completely caught up, the class moved further ahead. Oscar had begun to focus himself upon the work he was trying to completely, but the young Ravenclaw found it too hard to focus, at most it was just too hard to focus in the stuffy warm, common room. So Oscar head outside. Oscar didn't think that the reason he felt so warm was that he was wearing jeans and converses. Of course he wore a short sleeved top but it made for little cooling. Outside it was raining heavily. Which was why Oscar was puzzled as to why he was so warm. So, he closed over his books and went to his dorm to fetch a thin jumper. One thing that Oscar loved, without a doubt was rain. He didn't mind getting wet. he enjoyed it, and that was what was really weird, he did actually enjoy it. It was unlike most other things. With rain, it washed away everything, and so, Oscar left his books and just went out. He hurried down all the steps, and pushed past all those until he was finally taking the first steps out into the lawns of Hogwarts.

Although Oscar Fossil more often than not acted older than he was, there was something about rain that brought the kid out from within. He was just so free in rain, he didn't even care who saw him. So, as Oscar took his first steps, he was happy to hear the sound of his shoes slapping against the puddles of water, and in a matter of minutes glad to feel the water drip from his hair to be across his face. As he began to walk, the rain began to fade off. And he began to head towards the gardens. He wondered if anyone else would out in such weather. he doubted greatly. Who would really be out apart from him. But as Oscar entered the gardens the rain tailed off and stopped. Oscar was still happy, so he continued what he was doing and found a spot under a tree and was glad to see that the large leaves had kept the ground dry. He sat down and just stared out. Oscar knew it would look weird, but he saw no harm in just sitting doing nothing.

Tamalia was quite content with the way life was going at Hogwarts. Tamalia had decided on her classes: Care of Magical Creatures was first on her list. Tamalia loved animals, especially the ones that people found strange and scary, that may explain why she had a Bat as her pet, rather than a cat or rat as the other students had. Tamalia could not see the greatness in having the same animal as everyone else, most people were scared of her bat. Tamalia could not see how they could be so scared of a little common bat. It was not like Starshine was going to eat them or anything, she only ate fruit so the thoughts that ran through peoples heads was ridiculous and annoyed Tamalia alot, she hated people insulting her bat. Starshine maybe an animal but she still deserved respect like everything else.

Tamalia was bored in the common room and had planned to go to the garden earlier but had forgotten. So she stood up and left the common room for the garden. After a few minutes Tamalia saw that it was raining cats and dogs, this however did not dampen the heart of the young Gryffindor and she continued through the rain, skipping. Tamalia enjoyed skipping through the rain it was more fun than walking or running. Everynow and then Tamalia would stop to splash in a puddle and pull a tree branch so water would come crashing down. When Tamalia reached her destination however the rain had stopped and her uniform completely soaked. Her hair was sticking to her face and trails of water were running down her face. Tamalia flipped her long hair over her head and pulled at it, in an attempt to get out some of the water. Tamalia than flipped it back and it was slightly messy, as in very messy.

Tamalia ran her fingers through her hair as she started walking towards a tree. It was not until she became close to the tree that she saw a boy sitting there also. This new development in the young Gryffindors day did not stop her walking to the tree and joining the strange boy. Tamalia did not expect someone else to be outside also. "Im Tamalia, who are you?" She asked with a small smile, water still dripping down her face. It was obvious that she had been playing in the rain, the boy semmed to have played in the rain also.

Oscar really wondered if anyone would be crazy enough to like him go out into the rain and just have a bit of fun. It seemed pretty crazy Oscar knew it wasn't like he tried to be crazy all the time. In fact Oscar considered himself pretty sane. Which really probably was not saying much. Since Oscar wasn't too sane. Just sane enough to not be considered insane if he did something outlandish. But it wouldn't matter since, Oscar had been away for such a long time that any attempt towards saying that at school he was sane was really completely stupid since he had very little grounds to go on. But still, Oscar knew himself, and he knew himself to be pretty sane. It was as he pondered his sanity that a girl, who he was sure was in his year appeared in front of him. He smiled at her politely, she seemed like she had been out in the rain just like him. This made the Ravenclaw smile even more. He was not the only one. It was most definitely a good thing that. Oscar liked being able to say he wasn't the only one who did something. He stayed silent as the girl just stood beside him. He moved along slightly, saying that he didn't mind if she sat down. It was every so often that Oscar resorted to going back to not really speaking but just showing what he wanted. It was something that he did most with Sapphire, whenever he saw her. It was weird since it was the only person that Oscar was like that with. With everyone else Oscar was just normal. he was himself, casual, calm, collected, talkative. It just showed to him that he did change slightly for others. Oscar knew it wasn't the best thing to change for people but then he didn't know how else to make and keep friends. But Oscar was always sure to make the changes subtle. Minor. Oscar still spoke normally to his silent friend, but he did things more than spoke them. Oscar nodded as the girl introduced herself as Tamalia. He smiled at her again, extending a hand to her.

"Oscar, and I can say you have a much cooler name than I do. It's nice to meet you Tamalia" Oscar said with a smile, his accent clearly Kiwi. "I see you've been out in the rain. Accident or Fun?" Oscar was pretty open with most people. He wasn't like his sister, that hide everything, Oscar didn't see the point in keeping secrets it wasn't like in the long run they helped anyone. So, Oscar made a point of only smiling when he was actually happy, or when it was polite. If was annoyed or upset, Oscar would be those things. He maybe wouldn't cry but he'd show that he wasn't happy. It wasn't right for a person to pretend to be something that they weren't. Oscar had some odd values and ones that weren't really expected of him. But then Oscar prided himself on being different and being completely individual. So, as he smiled at Tamalia he hoped that she would be as genuine as him, and wouldn't turn and punch him in the face. "So what brings you out here?" The Ravenclaw boy asked, running a hair through his messy, wet dark brown hair.

Tamalia laughed slightly and shook the boys hand. “I hate my name, but sometimes it isn’t too bad.” She said with a small shrug. Tamalia did not like her name much, but others seemed to fine it nice. But they were not the ones who had the name their whole life. Sometimes her friends would not be able to pronounce her name as well, this made her wish she had an easier name so they would not feel so bad when they could not say it. Tamalia was sure that Oscar was Kiwi, though she could not be sure.
Tamalia had lost her Australian/American accent some times during the two years of going to Hogwarts, it had been replaced with an accent similar to Kiwi but not quite. “Fun, if I didn’t want to be wet than I would have stayed in the common room or something.” Tamalia explained. “I was bored and I was planning to come here earlier, but I never got around to it until now. When I was half way through the castle it started raining buckets but I couldn’t be bothered to go all the way back to the tower so I just continued, with a few puddle jumps along the way.” Tamalia explained with a small laugh. Tamalia could be a pretty giggly girl, she did not like being too serious or she would miss out of some things. Tamalia could be considered odd but she did not mind too much, being odd was great sometimes. “Can I ask you the same question?” She asked Oscar with a smirk.

Sorry, I have been having an off week :erm:

Sometimes it was just a nice feeling to be sitting outside with someone that was more or less an unknown to the other person. Oscar looked to the girl as she said she hated her name. Oscar just shrugged. He didn't know whether or not to agree. He thought it was a pretty cool name. It was somewhat different. He thought he had too plain a name. Oscar. It sounded English and annoying, and he was stuck with it. But Oscar knew that he could just change it. He had become Lucas at his ballet school, but this wasn't ballet school, this was real life proper school. And fake names, weren't very cool. And they went against the honest policy that Oscar had sworn himself to. As the girl beside him spoke, he thought that her accent was pretty odd. It was Australian, but it hinted at American, but seemed to differ on some words to a Kiwi accent. It was weird, but it really just told him that she maybe came from all over, which was different to him. He was from new Zealand, and had never once left the country. He had no intentions of leaving the country any time soon. All his family was in New Zealand, he had nothing else where. And Oscar preferred New Zealand to all other places. it was small, it had amazing senery and not to mention great people. A diverse population. And not to mention the large population of Wizards and Witches. For a small country there were a lot of them. Oscar nodded as she spoke. Saying that she had been bored. Oscar was there because of something quite similar. He had not meant to come out early. he'd just come out into the rain. And hoped for the best. The rain had stopped, but even if it hadn't Oscar would've continued what he'd been doing. It was just a lot of fun to be out in the rain. Free and wet. Happy and soaked. Dancing with the heavens open around you. Overall Oscar just liked rain more than he liked magic. Which was quite a lot. He shrugged at Tamalia while also smiling.

"I really like rain. I saw it from the common room, and had to go out. Rain is pretty amazing, Well it is to me anyway." Oscar said smiling and giving a shrug once more. He liked being just sat under a large tree, looking out on to the wet ground. "The puddles do get there own back by making the bottom of my jeans filth as well as wet. But that's the price you pay for fun." Oscar gave a small laugh looking down at the bottom of his jeans. "Now, rain is all good, but lightening storms, are like Gods of the weather. So amazing. Like, so amazing." Oscar knew he sounded odd. But when it came down to it, rain fall was all well and good, but thunder and lightening storms, were the only thing that made Oscar feel like an excited infant to a whole new and some would say sad level. It was crazy though. Oscar loved going out in them. No matter what. If it was minus temperatures or if there was a raging warmth. No matter what he loved thunder storms, more than anything in the world.

Tamalia nodded, Oscar was right rain was amazing and interesting, to Tamalia all weather was as were animals and many other things, but she did not make it a habit to go out when it was raining because her mother would kill her. Tamalia was not a mummy’s girl but she respected her parents enough to listen to them even if they were not by her side, it was respect like that that made Tamalia who she was, though the respect never stopped her from going on a wild adventure every now and then. “You are right, rain is great but colds are pains.” She said smiling slightly, sometimes you have to take the good with the bad to fully enjoy life, but colds still annoyed her. Tamalia nodded in agreement to Oscar’s comment about the puddles, they did do a number on Oscars jeans and Tamalia’s shoes and white socks. “I shouldn’t have worn white socks.” She said looking down at her wet and slightly brown socks; they were once pearly white, now no-one would ever believe that they were once white at all. Tamalia though about what Oscar said for a while. “I like hail over lightning and thunder.” Tamalia told him. Most wondered why anyone would like hail, but Tamalia thought it was great how they could make brilliant sounds when hitting the right surface, even if you couldn’t run around outside without being injured in some way they were fun to watch from afar, and if the sun came out at the right time before the fallen hail had melted to nothing but water the ice-rocks shone and sparkled, it was all rather girly but no-one could deny that it was pretty. Tamalia laughed as he enthused about the weather. Tamalia was sure passersby that would hear this conversation would be freaked out by two kids enthusing about the weather like men do sports cars. “Lightning is great but I just like hail better, personal choice.” She said shrugging. Lightning wasn’t something that Tamalia hated but she would much rather hail over lightning.
