Emmaline had not waited long after Professor Corrins mentioned she waited a meeting with each third year individually. The young Gryffindor wanted to show that she was listening, that she knew what she was supposed to do. However, that did not make Emmaline less nervous about meeting with a Professor in their office. The young girl had never really been to a professor's office. It almost felt like she was in trouble, even though that was not the case. Even though she knew the professor had mentioned she would be in her office, Emmaline was nervous. Was she intruding? Did she misunderstood what the professor meant in her lesson? For some reason, Emmaline could feel the nervous butterflies making her stomach flip. Why was this even such a big deal? Overall, the young girl felt like she did well in Charms class. She never acted up. This was a friendly meeting, not one in which the professor would pick apart everything she did wrong. This isn't like being home She thought, the memories of her mother's lectures still fresh in her mind from over break. Maybe that was why she was such a mess, at least part of the reason.

Emmaline stopped outside of the office door. Letting out a small breath, she knocked on the door softly. While she waited for any sign, Emmaline tucked a stray piece of hair out of her face and readjusted her uniform. The young girl logically knew this was not a meeting to be nervous about, but sometimes logic did not always take over.

((I just noticed this I'm so sorry))

Mallory was busy grading a few papers, Maxim was busy bothering Amara. Amara lay on the couch, watching the younger cat with a sort of tolerant annoyance while Maxim chewed on the edge of Amara's favorite pillow. Mallory had a fresh pot of tea brewing, humming a soft lullaby as she set aside another homework assignment.

She looked up as she heard the knock on her door. Smiling softly, Mallory set her stack of paperwork aside. With a flick of her wrist, the door opened to reveal a rather nervous looking young girl. Mallory gave a warm smile, folding her hands in front of her. "Emmaline. What a pleasure, my dear. Please, come in. And shut the door," she added, sparing a pointed glance at Maxim. The young kitten paid her no mind, too busy gnawing on the pillow to notice the door had been opened.

Emmaline watched as the door to the office opened. A Professor with a warm smile greeted her as it did so. Emmaline tried to mimic the same smile as she walked into the office, slightly slower than a normal pace. She wondered what the professor would say about her performance in charms class; it worried it slightly, but she was already here and ready. She could not back out now. "Hello Professor" Emmaline said as she closed the door to the office as she was instructed.

The young Gryffindor took a seat in an empty chair as she noticed the young kitten using a pillow as a chew toy. A more genuine smile fell on Emmaline's face as she thought about Nova up in her dorm. Her own little kitten who often liked to cause havoc, especially when left by herself. That was one of the wonderful things about Hogwarts, everyone seemed to have a pet, cats being a common animal to find just wondering the corridors.

Emmaline tried to get her head out of her thoughts about cats and even what Nova could be doing up in her dormitory unattended. She turned to face the professor. "Thank you for seeing me today. I bet you're super busy" Emmaline said honestly. She knew she herself had more than enough to do with all her classes this semester, but the Professor's wanting to see her third year students one-on-one was just another thing on Emmaline's surprisingly long to do list.

Mallory smiled, flicking a hand and setting the tea pot to boil. "Would you like some tea, darling?" She questioned, noting how Emmaline looked to the cats. "The little one there is Maxim. That sweet girl he's pestering is Amara," She chuckled lightly. "Do you like cats?" She asked.
