Emmaline had not waited long after Professor Corrins mentioned she waited a meeting with each third year individually. The young Gryffindor wanted to show that she was listening, that she knew what she was supposed to do. However, that did not make Emmaline less nervous about meeting with a Professor in their office. The young girl had never really been to a professor's office. It almost felt like she was in trouble, even though that was not the case. Even though she knew the professor had mentioned she would be in her office, Emmaline was nervous. Was she intruding? Did she misunderstood what the professor meant in her lesson? For some reason, Emmaline could feel the nervous butterflies making her stomach flip. Why was this even such a big deal? Overall, the young girl felt like she did well in Charms class. She never acted up. This was a friendly meeting, not one in which the professor would pick apart everything she did wrong. This isn't like being home She thought, the memories of her mother's lectures still fresh in her mind from over break. Maybe that was why she was such a mess, at least part of the reason.
Emmaline stopped outside of the office door. Letting out a small breath, she knocked on the door softly. While she waited for any sign, Emmaline tucked a stray piece of hair out of her face and readjusted her uniform. The young girl logically knew this was not a meeting to be nervous about, but sometimes logic did not always take over.
