Professor Cade's Office

[Professor James Cade]

A cluttered office greets you as you enter through the door. James never fully moved out the items left behind by the previous occupant so when he put his own touch on the room and moved in his own items it all added to a sense of too many things in a small space.

A small desk sits in front of a comically large bookshelf, the shelf containing every Defence against the dark arts textbook, several magical creatures and dragon guidebooks written by some author by the name Madeline Walden. Some shelf space is taken up by artifacts, a wand that Professor Cade refuses to talk about in a glass display case, several skeletal remains of small creatures, a moving photo of James with Minister for Magic Claudia Holland an Deputy Minister Alexander Cade following their election victory and various other knickknacks that relate to James' career as an Auror and his subject of choice. The desk itself is usually covered in parchment as he struggles to keep up with his grading, three photos sit on his desk, one of him and Geo on their wedding day, one of the five Walden-Cade children taken when Lumos and Nox were toddlers and a baby photo of Eden Adler-Cade. A photo from his wedding to Maddie sits on the bookshelf beside the encased wand.

A red sofa sits along the back wall of the office, a few feet in front of the door as you enter. The sofa sits beside a table that is mostly empty save for a handful of textbooks, specifically the ones James assigns for his upper year classes. A teapot and cups that are magically filled (by Dakrey) whenever he has a guest and a couple of lit candles for added light.

Further into the office, up a couple of steps is a slightly elevated space with desks pushed up against the walls, the desks filled with various texts, rolls of parchment, dried out quills. The walls and notice board contain various items and memorabilia from James' time as a seeker for the Thundelarra Thunderers as well as a self filling schedule from the current season, a photo of James and Geo back to back with their wands, buddy cop style early on in their partnership and various photos and memorabilia from his time as a campaign staffer for Alexander's ministerial election campaign as well as his own, notably campaign buttons, election posters, and copy of the election results. Not his finest moment but one he likes to remember all the same. Lastly, in the furthest corner of the room are his other family photos, his parents, Ezra with Lyra and their children, photos of William and Kiera when they were young, Jess with Leila and numerous photos of his six children from various stages of their respective childhoods.​
