Preparing for the frost

[Zazuka Getathorn]

Zazuka could not get over Holloween night. It had been so much fun for her and Andy. She was now consentrating on what she had been worryed about for a bit. With winter coming the plants out here would not have the benifit of having the controled bio-dome that was the green houses. So with a trowl, a pair of gradening sheers and a few other things she started to work on a corner of the Gardens. She knew she wouldn't be able to get all of it in one day but if she worked dillengently for the next few days she would be able to have the entire gardens ready by the time winter really set in.

Zazuka had her large sun hat on which made her look little country but it also hid her face which was becoming more and more stained with dirt and grim and less pretty. She was also waring over-all jeans that looked like she had them for sevral years. She had infact but she still had them for this kind of work. She hoped that the rest of the Wild Patch would come out and help but she was perfictly fine with taking care of the gardens herself.

Kailey walked out and into the garden dressed in some faded jeans and a loose tee shirt. She saw someone doing something in the distance and decided to go see what was going on. She then saw that it was Zazuka "What are you doing Z?" she inquired, her curiosity getting the best of her.

 

[Zazuka Getathorn]

Zazuka looked up from under her sunhat and smiled brightly. "Getting the plants ready for winter." She said and she cut off some of the dead leaves on Asphodel plant. She missed her bestfriend already and she had only been gone for a day now. Zazuka felt alittle like she had been left behind. She wiped those thought away from her head along with some of the dirt on her long sleeve. "Want to help?" She said keeping some of her cheeryness. She didn't want to bring anyone else down with this.

"Sure." Kailey replied to Zazuka, something was off about her but Kailey couldn't put on finger on exactly what it was. "So where should I start Z?" she asked cheerily looking at Zazuka

Zazuka reached for a pair of giant looking sheers and handed them to Kailey. "You can start taking the exesive branches off the apple tree. But becarful I planted a patch of Screaming Meme's nearby. If you step on them they will utter a scream that will wake the dead." She said as a light joke. She wanted to think of anything other than Andy so she was keeping herself busy. If she was doing something, anything then she wouldn't have time to be sad.

"Will do." Kailey said taking the shears and walking over to the Apple tree, She struggled with a few stubborn branched but she like the overall sucess of it. But she unwittingly jumped down from the high branch she had been on to get the higher up branches and landed right on a screaming meme. Which immediatly emitted one of her most ear shattering screams Kailey had ever heard.

She slammed her hands to her ears and let out a long stream of curses before running back over to Zazuka. "What the fu@king hell would posess anybody to plant those little b!tches!" she seemed to realize how she had over reacted and quickly reddened "Sorry..." she added quickly looking down.

Zauzka thought her cloud of sadness maneged to laugh into her hand. "A Screaming Meme is used in a type of silencing draft. Aperently it conteracts the main ingredent so it doesn't make the person permentely mute. It's also used in the antidote as a matter afact." She said then sighed. She finished up with the Asphodel and made her way over to the Hellebore to start cliping of the dead flowers that wheren't used in Potions. "Sorry for your ears though." She said tring to add alittle bit of humer but failing misrably.

"I see, Well atleast I can still hear." Kailey replied glaring back at the cursed plants. "I'll leave anything involving those little buggers to you." she resolved looking back at Zazuka.

 

[Zazuka Getathorn]

Zazuka nodded. "I think it best too. Memes are extreamy delicute plants. Just be glad it was only one and not the whole patch screaming. I made them do that once. I had a ringing in my ears for hours afterwards but the blossomes are so beautuful it kinda makes up for it." She said laughing softly. She handed Kailey her sheer and got another one from the kit she had borrowed for the greenhouses. "I think the Hellebore is a safer plant don't you think?" She said brightly. Though Zazuka was acting like she usually did there was something lacking in her smile and in the way her eyes sparkled. It used to be that her smiled was like the sun pokeing out though the clouds now it didn't even have half that power.
