Luxen was more than prepared for the upcoming exams as he had watched the other students scramble around the common room trying to remember everything that had been taught to them over the year. This was especially true for the fifth and seventh years who had begun to make studying in the Slytherin Common room alone unbearable. A few had even had mental breakdowns and one had spent a particular even simply sitting by the fire crying. It was pathetic and distracting him from his own studies, therefore he had decided to go to the library and actually stay to read. He had been many times but only to check out the books as he found the presence of others annoying at the best of times.

At least the head librarian kept the drama to a minimum as Luxen smirked at the site of a fifth year being told to head to the Hospital Wing for a cheering charm. The books she had been studying were still lying all over after she had flipped out and started throwing them around asking several of them about the ingredients to a Draught of Peace. Luxen meanwhile had picked up a book called 'Transfiguration and the Dark Arts' by Lupin Thirdwest and had taken it over to a table to read. Since it hadn't come from the restricted section it didn't contain much about how to cast some of the spells but did tell stories of dark wizards that had used various spells on unsuspecting muggles that Luxen found particularly amusing.

Kia wasn't worried about exams. She never really did. Either she did well or she didn't. There was no reason to stress out about it. It would only worsen her outcomes. It was a shame, however, that most of the school didn't seem to share that sentiment and were panicking over nothing. She rolled her eyes, making her way to the library. It would be better if she found some time to herself in the library, she decided. She ignored the others in the library, as she usually did, passing by Luxen and climbing up a bookshelf to get the next book in a series of Transfiguration textbooks that she'd been studying.

'In the Year 1800 near the black forest a witch by the name of Grunhilda Baker was arrested and sentenced to three years imprisonment after cursing a local Muggle farmer. Heinz Wagner had been caught stealing a cabbage from her patch that had been magically enhanced to be much larger and tastier than anything he had ever grown. Grunhilda used transfiguration magic to turn his ears into that of a donkey and his feet into that of a pig before apprehended by local magical authorities. Heinz was returned to his normal state and his memory modified. Due to Grunhilda's defense that she was merely protecting herself and her property, she received a lighter sentence for her crimes though would repeat several more times throughout her life.'

Luxen rolled his eyes, it was obvious that the muggle got what he had deserved and should have probably just been turned into a cockroach and stomped on, however he suspected she would have gotten in more trouble if she had done that. It didn't seem right that the wizarding world was constantly having to bend over backwards just to make the lesser species feel 'safe'. There was a loud crash nearby as he turned from his reading and noticed a 6th Year Hufflepuff girl had accidentally knocked over several copies of 'The Flying Book on Flying' by Miranda Fluttershy from their shelf after a nervous looking 7th Year had walked straight into her. Three of the flying books instantly began flying around the library and seemed determined to knock over as many of the other books as possible.

Luxen followed the direction of one of the books as it seemed to be flying directly towards the shelf Sorens was climbing. The library staff were preoccupied trying to stop the other two books and clean up the ever increasing mess. Luxen knew he was probably going to get into trouble, however the alternative was to let the book hit the Slytherin girl and cause even more distractions. Pulling out his wand Luxen said in a low tone "Petrificus Totalus" and watched as the full body bind curse caused the book to instantly fall to the ground with a clunk. Getting up from the table, Luxen walked over towards the book that had only been two feet away from Sorens and picked it up. "You know, I'm sure Professor Styx could use her transfiguration magic to make you taller if you asked nicely. You wouldn't have to climb like a monkey then" Luxen said simply to the other student.

Kia grabbed her book, and jumped down, hardly aware of the book that had tried to take her down. "Why? I can handle myself," She told him, holding up her book. She tucked it back under her arm. "Are you panicking over finals like the rest of the school?" She asked, moving to sit at a nearby table.

Luxen smirked at her comment about being able to take care of herself. Sorens appeared to be more lucky than capable, lucky that better wizards were always around to keep her safe from harm that is. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing since natural luck was a rare commodity and sometimes was able to rub off on others. It was certainty better than running around the school baking disgusting things and pretending to be a damsel in distress all the time. "Never mind" Luxen simply replied to her comment.

He showed her the cover of the book he was reading "Why would I be worried about finals, unlike the rest of these fools, I've been ready for weeks. I'm just researching a few ideas for what I'm eventually going to do to my enemies" Luxen said with another smirk. It also helped that book often described what the witch or wizard did wrong that lead to them getting caught. Two Fifth Year boys decided that now was apparently the time to play a prank on another fifth year, a girl with pigtails who suddenly found one of them cut off with magic. It took her a second to notice but when she did, she gave out a loud scream of horror and began making quite the scene. Luxen couldn't help but start chuckling as one of the librarians quickly rushed over to see what was going on.

"Apparently if your an older student, the final exams make you go insane" Luxen sneered. They were behaving worse than the younger students these days as even a few of them had been required to go the Hospital Wing for some sort of cheering charm.
