Fraser had arrived back at school with everyone else, but of course on the very first morning, he had planned to come out ot the quidditch pitch, even though it was lightly snowing. He'd just wrapped up warmly, with a scarf and special gloves for exactly this. But it was still a bit cold. He was sure that once he got up into the air, and began practising, he'd warm up in no time at all. Fraser began lightly stretching, trying his best to get limber in the cold, and be good to fly around, the last thing he wanted to do was accidentally injure himself before even the try-outs.

Oz knew he wasn't that good at Quidditch. It wasn't really anything groundbreaking to say that. He could fly perfectly well, but he totally sucked as a chaser and he was surprised Chase didn't kick him off the team at some point last year. But he had made a commitment to the team and he wasn't going to let them (or himself) down by just giving up. Maybe he'd suddenly get better at shooting. Maybe the opposing keepers would get food poisoning when they played games.

Short of the former miracle or the latter disaster, Oz knew the only way he'd actually improve was if he practiced. It was a cold morning, but Oz had already come this far and figured he just had to push his way through. He noticed another figure as he reached the ground, and in consideration of his unexpected new badge figured he should also go out of his way to be at least polite while he was also pushing himself to exercise. On closer inspection, he realised it was Fraser, someone he sort of knew from classes but didn't exactly know very well. "Morning," he called with a wave as he also started stretching. "It's...a day for it, huh."
