So Onyx had been a jerk. He sat alone in the empty student lounge, attempting to play a game of Wizards Chess. He wasn't in the best mood. He wasn't very good at this game. Maybe if he hadn't stuck his foot in his mouth his sister would be here showing him how to play. As it was he doubted she would make it through a game without throwing half the board at him. Not that he didn't deserve it. He sighed in frustration, leaning back in his chair. It didn't help the chess pieces were all being snarky little jerks.

It didn't help the situation any that Sapphire wasn't going to go to the house for Christmas holiday with him. He'd begged and pleaded, but she wasn't listening. And who could blame her? He ran a hand over his face. Exams were tomorrow and he should be studying but he just couldn't focus on anything. He'd been helping his sister study but she had been subtly ignoring him since he yelled at her. She had accepted his apology, sure, but she hadn't seemed to have completely forgiven him yet. Maybe he could do something to prove he was sorry.

His mind was whirring as he thought over what he could do. He hardly acknowledged when the cute boy came into the room.

With the holidays coming up, Asmodeus debated on whether or not he would go home. He did not really feel like it, and an empty dorm sounded more appealing than going back to France. Asmodeus had a piece of parchment in his hand, and a quill that was self-inking. He 'borrowed' it from a classmate. Asmodeus looked around the lounge before finding a table, and a chair. He went to it, ignoring all others while he started to write to his mother, apologizing that he would not be coming home for the holidays. Asmodeus said that he was feeling ill, which was obviously a lie unless one counted having the hots for another girl illness, which Asmodeus kind of did. He just hoped that his mother would buy the story and not give him a howler for Christmas. That would be embarrassing since his mother was probably the scariest woman he had ever known. After all, she was the first person ever expelled from Hogwarts New Zealand.
