The prefect's meeting had already lead to a frustrating start of the year. Fuming, Soren stormed through the corridor, taking every necessary portrait hole to get him further away from Felix and Alana. The Hufflepuff could barely believe the two of them had been appointed Head Boy and Girl. They didn't suit the roles at all. The Slytherin girl had the audacity to lecture them on professionalism, and immediately followed it up with childish sarcasm and attitude. It was hypocritical, and Soren was glad he got out of there when he did. He could hear her taking house points as he left, as it seemed someone else followed suite, and he didn't know how well he would have taken it if he'd stayed a moment sooner. It was unfair of them to act the way they did, and to be able to get away with it. What could they do about it? Professor Styx was far too intimidating to complain about Alana to, and he wasn't sure the Deputy or the Headmistress would have listened either. Ms Alicastell had chosen them, after all.
Prior to the meeting, Soren had left Des in the student lounge. He wasn't sure how long his friend would have remained there, but by the time the Hufflepuff returned, far too early from the meeting, he entered to find an almost empty room, all of its chairs upturned and Desideratus, thankfully, still there. Soren closed the door behind him much harder than he intended, almost jumping at the sound of it slamming behind him. He was still so angry, and at a loss for words. Maybe he was overreacting, but he had been in a situation before, where he'd suffered torment from someone he was assigned to patrol with, and it wasn't something he, nor anyone else should have to suffer through. Alana's "Byeeee" continued to ring in his ears, sounding so smug and superior. He wish he'd said more, and hoped Hamish at least did. She thought she could make up facts to get them to conform. That wasn't right. Huffing loudly, the Danish boy pulled his prefects badge from his sweater and threw it toward the nearest couch. He didn't ask to be a prefect, and if it wasn't for the privileges and ability to stand up against the bullies of the school, he would have quit rather than be ruled over by people like Felix and Alana. They didn't care about other people.
