Amory had never in his life felt so silly, he had a unicorn headband on for Merlin's sake. If Lumos ever saw this he'd never hear the end of it, but in his defense he had done this just to hopefully make Rose laugh even a tiny giggle would be a win in his books. That being said he was now waiting for the Gryffindor by her houses common room doors, every time the door opened the Slytherin turned his head slightly so that he could see who came out but they couldn't fully see his head and possibly make an identification. For some reason he felt like a felon on the run, but he was not risking anyone seeing him like this unless absolutely necessary. Amory prayed his plan would work and he'd get a laugh or even a smile out of his date to the feast.

@Rose Edogawa

Rose didn't really know what to wear to the Halloween party, she had gone last year with Jonah and Eurydice so she didn't really know what to expect this year. She was maybe a little annoyed that neither of them had asked her this year and she wondered if that meant they both weren't going. She could never really tell because one of the things about having siblings and cousins in every other house than the one she was in, it made it hard to keep up with what was going on with her siblings lives. Jonah, Hina-nee and Eury were all together, Yuri and Kael-nii had each other too and Eli was by himself but he liked that. So Rose sort of just of had to deal with things herself. As she stepped out into the corridor adjusting her denim cap she'd made on her own, she took a second to notice Amory waiting for her, eyes travelling up to his head where her face broke out in a grin. "Oh wow, that's a statement." She told him, laughing lightly.

NO

Lilith was not here.

Amory noticed Rose before she noticed him and wondered what on earth she was trying to be? Britney Spears from the 90's or early 00's with Justin Timberlake whenever that one VMA outfit had been? Surely not she was from a magical family so the chances of her knowing the muggle pop-culture history to this detail were slim. As Rose took him in he gave himself a mental high-five at the grin and laugh he had earned. "Yeah you like it?" He chuckled and did a slow spin. "I think it is very well suited for me plus the colour black on the rest of my clothes makes the headband stand out, I'd say I nailed it." Amory was very proud of himself.

"You look nice, but don't mind me clarifying what exactly are you?" There were many options but none felt like ones he should say out loud right now, so he opted to keeping it to himself and hearing it from her. "You ready to go? We can start walking and you can explain on the way there?" The Slytherin offered gesturing to starting the walk.

"I love it, it's cute," she said, laughing a little more and shaking her head. She wasn't surprised he didn't know what she was because she'd only thrown it together about an hour ago, she never really did know what to wear to these things and last year she'd gone as polka dots or something to match Jonah, which had been interesting. "I'm the history of denim, it's all I had really, and I didn't know what else to do with all the denim I didn't wear. On the upside this looks cool, the downside is I have no more jeans." She'd cut them all up to make the hat. She smiled lightly at him as they walked. She didn't like people giving her attention, so she fidgeted a little with the hem of her overalls, but it wasn't so bad right now and she had potions in her pocket in case she needed them. "Why the unicorn? I don't think I've ever seen anyone dress up like a Unicorn before."

It was a fight not to grimace being called cute in a unicorn costume, but for the look on Rose's face he'd be called cute more often. She seemed relaxed and at least find something fun in his silly costume. Amory listened to her explanation and nodded, it kind of made sense he supposed. "Well it does look cool, very cute outfit if I do dare say so myself but I am afraid I might steal the attention with my cuteness." He stated with a grin, he could not believe he was about to attend a social gathering with a godforsaken unicorn headband. "Well I wanted to go with something very silly and unbelievable even for you magically grown ups," the boy had no idea if that was even the right term but he had no idea how else to refer to the non-muggleborns that grew up with magic. "It's pretty difficult but I figured unicorn would be a safe option, it's not like they are real even in this world." At least Amory hadn't heard of such creature, so he felt safe to assume that one at the very least was simply a tale. Noticing Rose's nervous habit of fidgeting the Slytherin nudged her shoulder softly with his own, "I didn't attend last year, is there something I should expect?" Or more like avoid and be afraid of, not that he would but you know precautions.

She laughed slightly at Amory, he was a funny person, she thought, and she liked that he was trying to make her laugh. Most people didn't bother with her really, and she felt like maybe Amory and Esme were her only friends. It wasn't their fault really, she only really spoke to her family because she didn't have to explain things to them, and though she was decent at English, sometimes she didn't understand how to explain certain concepts that she was thinking about. She understood it a lot better than she could speak or explain sometimes, and that wasn't helpful. "Well you could wear it every year and see how that goes?" She wouldn't be opposed to be honest, she thought it was a funny and cute costume, but she thought he might get bored of it as well. She blinked at him though when he said unicorns aren't real. Of course he would think that, he'd never seen one. "They are real, Unicorns exist and if you do care of magical creatures you should even meet one eventually."

Amory made a horrified expression at the suggestion of him wearing the costume aka headband every year and shook his head. "No this is a once in a life time privilege to witness me with such blasphemy." He said with an amused tone. The Slytherin blinked far too many times at Rose's words, was she serious? Unicorns were real too? Amory opened his mouth a few times, but nothing came out he must have been in some sort of a shock. "Unicorns are real? No you are kidding, no they are not? Are they? Is there anything that isn't real?" He asked with disbelieving tone, well that was certainly something he hadn't expected though perhaps he should have expected the unexpected.

Rose had to think for a minute, it was a hard question to answer mostly because having grown up in the magical world meant that she didn't really know a lot about what they believed was fake. Well, there was a couple of things. "Mum said Mermaids don't like like how they do in some of the muggle picture books, a bit more like fish than people, leprechauns don't hoard pots of gold, Bigfoot isn't real, Dragons don't hoard treasure... uhm," she tried to wrack her brain for something he might me more familiar with and then remembered a movie her dad had once let her watch, probably entirely too young honestly and her mum had chucked a big stink about it. She and Eury loved scary movies though, "Zombies aren't real." She had no way of knowing what Inferi were of course, and probably wouldn't have mentioned zombies at all had she known.
