It was a bit cold out, but that wasn't going to stop Rhys from getting some fresh air instead of staying all cooped up inside. He'd made sure to grab his sketchpad and some pencils as well before he left the common room, wandering out onto the grounds and finding a quiet spot under his favourite tree to settle under, crossing his legs in front of him so he could rest his sketchpad on them. The next step was finding something interesting to start sketching, frowning as he glanced around until his gaze settled on a girl. One he was pretty sure was in his year. She would do, he supposed, turning his eyes to the blank page in front of him as he started with the outline of her shape as he started to sketch. While it might have been an idea to ask permission, Rhys wasn't usually one for talking too much and asking permission to draw someone just sounded like too much effort to him. There was no harm in it, anyway.

@Riley King

Being that it was colder outside, a lot of students were more inclined to stay indoors. That worked great for Riley, because she was always on the lookout for peace and quiet. The lawn was definitely one of Riley's favorite places and though she usually propped herself up against a tree, today she was just sitting in the sun, enjoying the warm rays warming up her cold body. She was actually doing her homework this time, which was a change from her scrambling to get it done last minute. It was boring though, and Riley often found herself gazing around the lawn. Her eyes landed on a familiar boy a couple of times, and she was sure she could feel his eyes on her every now and then too. With a huff, Riley closed her homework book and looked at the boy. "Can I help you?" She asked rather shortly.

He was so absorbed with his drawing that he wasn't much paying attention to anything else going on around him. Once he was satisfied with the outline he had started with the finer detail, the tip of his tongue poking out just a little in concentration as he drew. But, that concentration was shattered rather suddenly as the girl he had decided to try and draw happened to notice and was now addressing him. Rhys blinked. "Not really," was his rather simple response, twiddling his pencil in his fingers as he started to tap it against his sketchpad. "You moved," he also noted, glancing between his work in progress and the girl once again. That was not good for his drawing, how was he supposed to draw her in one position if she had moved to another?

Riley raised an eyebrow at the boy's reply, taken aback that he was just as short and blunt. His comment on her moving definitely confirmed that he was drawing her, and Riley wasn't entirely sure how she felt about that. She hadn't actually met any other artists yet and so while she was intrigued and wanted to see how his handiwork was, Riley felt like her privacy mattered more. So, ignoring the complaint that she had moved, Riley stood up and stormed over to the boy. "Well. Let me see what you've done then?"

Rhys really didn't see what the big issue was. So he was drawing her. Not like he was going to post his art all over the castle walls or anything. The only person who was ever going to see it was him. And anyone who happened to look in his sketchbook. Which was rare. And then she went and moved even more and Rhys just sighed, giving up as he dropped his pencil on top of the sketchbook as he pressed his lips together. "It's not done," he hadn't gotten the chance to get much further than the outline and some small shading before she had interrupted.

Riley let out a small laugh of dibelief, trying to peek at what he had done so far, but she couldn't quite see what he had done. Unfolding her arms, she threw them up slightly. "Fine. If I let you finish, will you show me what you do?" Riley asked, hoping it would at least be decent. It would be nice to find someone else that was good at sketching, so she could get some pointers. Riley was sure she'd be able to figure it out on her own, but she wasn't going to turn down any help she could get.

That sounded like a reasonable request, he supposed. He was probably going to show her what he had done even without her asking about it. "Fine by me," anything so that she would just go back to sitting how she had been when he had started the drawing in the first place so he could finish it. "Now, please sit like you were before," he instructed as he picked up his pencil again, waiting for the girl to do as he was asking, "And try not to move too much or it'll take longer."
