Arielle entered the Hogwarts Garden with a feeling of contempt. She felt like going somewhere beautiful and the Hogwarts Garden was the only place she could think of quick enough. The Slytherin strolled around, smiling at the beauty of the roses around her, they reminded her of home. If Arielle saw a fellow student, they wouldn't know who she was, this would usually anger her, but she couldn't have cared less. The reason the first year didn't know anybody at Hogwarts New Zealand yet was because she spent most of her precious time in the dungeon instead of out and about meeting new people. This was her chance to actually go something important with her time and she wasn't about to ruin that opportunity now and go back to the dungeons.

Arielle sat down on a stone bench and sighed, this was a peaceful moment for her and she wanted it to last, she couldn't remember a time where she had been so composed, if the young girl wasted this time she would regret it. Arielle twirled a lock of her curly blonde hair while she started to daydream and stare into the distance, if anybody did know who she was, they would be surprised at how she was acting, she was acting completely different from her usual self and this was a good thing for her, maybe she was starting to change as a person, and even if Arielle wasn't it would matter to her at all.

Walking through the grounds of the school, Isobel looked up and smiled. It seemed that she had finally found the place where she belonged. It had taken 12 years, yes, but at least she was here. There were people in this area who understood her for who she was, who accepted her and who were actually like her. It wasn't just her now that understood the greatness of the house she was in, but others did as well and she enjoyed the attention she got from other houses about the way she behaved. Other first years seemed to be in fear of her when they saw her just because of her house, and this in itself brought a satisfaction that made her smile. Pulling her dark, long curls into a small hair tie on the back of her head, she wandered through the trees until she reached the Hogwarts Garden. Looking around, her bright blue eyes surveyed the area in sight and the view that greeted them. The garden was well looked after, that much was obvious, and the smells were good, fresh and sweet. Picking up a stray rose from the ground, she twirled it in her fingers and pondered on the sight of it. It was perfectly red, the colour of blood and still had every single thorn perfectly intact.

Smiling at the irony of her favourite flower probably being a lot like her, she sighed and snapped off the stem half way up, before placing the loose flower in her hair tie, the combination of the deep brown and perfect red making a deadly attitude. Smiling at the effect, she continued to wander through the plants until she came across a familiar face sitting on a stone bench. Wandering over, she smiled and relaxed, a hand on her hip and her weight on a single leg. The pose was one she was well acquainted with but the meaning behind it could be either one of a evil thought beginning to sprout, or one where she was happy to talk to someone whom she decided was worthy of her talk. So, the manner of the pose generally depended on the person receiving the attention of her. This time, luckily, the person was one of appreciation from Isobel, so with a small smile, she stood there and coughed quietly. "Hey Arielle, can i join you?" She asked, a sweet smile on her delicate face. The smile was small, but as close to a normal, natural smile as Isobel could reach right now. Raising an eyebrow as she waited for a reply, she looked around, bringing a hand up to the flower in her hair to check it was still there in the right place.

The stone bench the first year had chosen to sit on gave her a feeling of doubt that was crawling in the back of her mind, sure, she was in the Hogwarts garden and she was enjoying the scenery and she liked actually being outside for a change, but there was something she couldn't quite understand, like why she was still sitting on this bench, it had been a while and the impatient Slytherin was sick of sitting around, she had to do something soon to mask the feeling of boredom that was slowly overtaking the young girl. This feeling started to deplete when a familiar face crossed Arielle's vision. Nodding gently at the girl, Arielle said simply, "Sure, if you want." If she had anything more to say, she would have said it. Yes, Arielle knew who the other first year Slytherin was, it was Isobel. Making polite conversation was what she was aiming to do now, that was if she could have a conversation without insulting the other person.

Isobel nodded her thanks as she took the seat. Looking around, she smiled warmly at the other girl. "It seems like ages since i spoke to you, even though we share the same room." She began, trying to make polite conversation but struggling to know what to say. The typical 'hello, how're you' seemed a little out of place and she thought she knew Arielle well enough to not have to go into this. "What are you doing over summer?" She asked, the question randomly popping into her head. Isobel herself was supposed to be going home, but that would mean a trip back to England with Alice and that in itself was unbearable. Sighing inwardly at the prospect, she momentarily closed her eyes as another plan formed in her mind. Letting the seed grow until it had enough to be a proper idea that could actually be carried out correctly. If she could get a friend to invite her to theirs, then she wouldn't need to go home to her muggle father. But, her father would spoil her a lot and she could have whatever she wanted. Mulling these two options over in her head, she came to a good conclusion. If she wrote to her father for money and presents, then she could go and stay with a friend as well. Perfect, win-win! Well, that was what she had for now. The only problem was finding a Slytherin friend who could help her. Sending a sly glance to Arielle next to her, she began to smile again.

At least there was somebody that knew who Arielle was, since the Slytherin had spent so much time not talking to anybody in her year, and her house for that matter, she was surprised that they had any idea she existed. "It has been a while." Arielle said, smiling back at Isobel, "I have hardly talked to anybody since I arrived at this forsaken school." Being honest was one of the traits Arielle rarely showed, she was more focused on looks than a lot of other things, honesty being one of them. Now Arielle was acting different to her usual, judgemental self, mainly because she knew Isobel a little and wasn't against talking to her, they did have a very similar family life and background, well, at least that's what she had assumed. "Nothing really, just being bored out of my mind at home while father spends all day in his studio." She said with a casual shrug. If Arielle had any plans it would be sitting in her room sketching all day, that was something she loved dearly but she always needed a break once and a while, she could always shop for some new clothes but that wasn't as fun to do without somebody there for company. "What are you doing in the Summer Holidays?" Asked Arielle, with an inquisitive grin. Maybe she could spend some time with Isobel outside of Hogwarts New Zealand. It might be a little awkward and it might be lots of fun too, Arielle liked the thought of not knowing.
