Lizzie's next rose's recipient was a Slytherin from her own year, so Lizzie figured it would be safe enough to wander around the dungeons a little after leaving Professor Pendleton's office and see if she could spot the girl. After wandering for a while Lizzie was about to give up and wait until lunch to find the girl when she spotted a face vaguely familiar from classes. She hurried over, smiling quickly. "Hey, you're Anabelle Williams, right?"

Though Anabelle had sent a secret rose of her own, she hadn't expected anything to come out of Valentines Day. She was looking forward to going to the dance that evening, and was hoping she'd have the courage to ask the receiver of her secret note to dance. Anabelle wasn't entirely enjoying sitting at breakfast, watching everyone get a rose, as a bit of envy grew in her stomach that she wasn't getting any herself. The last time she got a rose was from Rory, and that was also the same day he dumped her, so it was a sore point for her. Anabelle spent most of the morning in her Dorm.
Figuring it was about time to get out and get over the fact that she would never receive a rose, Anabelle walked out of her Common Room, wondering where would be the best place to study and not have to watch others have a fantastic love filled day. Her eyes flicked up as someone approached her and she gave the girl a small smile back. "Yeah, that's me. Uh - Lizzie, yeah?"

Lizzie smiled and nodded happily, pleased to be recognised. She had worried it would feel a little strange if she recognised Anabelle and not the other way around. "Yeah, hey!" She said happily. "I've got a delivery for you!" Picking the soft pink rose out of the basket, she beamed as she handed it and its card over to the other girl. "Here you are, happy Valentines Day!"
note note

Anabelle grinned at the other girl when she got her named right, but it quickly turned into confusion when Lizzie said she had a delivery. She got a rose? Anabelle felt a light blush creep into her cheeks as the Gryffindor girl handed her a pink rose. Anabelle took it, saying a quiet thanks as she looked down to read the note. It didn't have anything on it. Nothing to suggest who it was from. A small hope grew inside Anabelle, that possibly it was from the person she sent one to, but it was quickly dampened by the thoughts of how ridiculous that idea was. The blonde looked back up at Lizzie. "I don't suppose you have any ideas of who it's from, do you?"

Lizzie beamed, watching the other girl's face as she read the message. It was always rewarding to see people happy to get something so nice. It took a moment for the other girl's confusion to register in Lizzie's mind and she paused a moment when Anabelle asked who it was from, then shook her head. "We just get the roses and messages, sorry. But hey, a secret admirer is pretty exciting, right?" She grinned cheerfully, trying to put a positive spin on the surprise.

Anabelle had received a secret one the year previously, she remembered suddenly, and wondered if it were the same person. She tried to ignore the thought and focus on Lizzie and she nodded in understanding when Lizzie replied, before letting out a small chuckle. "Yes I suppose it is exciting." The blonde responded, tucking the blank note into her pocket and giving Lizzie a smile. "Thanks anyway. You having a good day?"

Lizzie smiled, relieved to have been able to put a positive spin on the mysterious rose for Anabelle. "Nothing like a mystery to make life a little more fun." She said cheerfully. She nodded in response to Anabelle's question, relieved that for once someone wasn't reminding her that she hadn't gotten any roses herself yet. "Yeah, it's been great!" She said cheerfully. "Rose deliveries are my favourite part of the year, it's so nice seeing people happy." She smiled encouragingly. "If you've never done it before you should give it a go next year, it's a great way to spend a day!"
