Ryuuji Tsukino is not a normal child.

He may act like one, and he may even be completely accepted as one, but he is most certainly not one. Not only because of the fact that he is a wizard, but rather, because of this genetically inherited ability that he had, that is to able to change his appearance at will. Yet, it was only recently that he had discovered that fact, and truth to be told, it was tad surprising, he had always thought that everything was just normal for those wizards just like him, but no, it is not.

He woke to the sound of rain, turning and glancing at the window. As his eyes adjusted, he notice there is indeed rain. It's coming down in thick sheets, forcefully pelting the glass. Sighing to himself, he got up, ready for the day ahead of him. He didn't like the rain; it soaks your hair and clothes and chills you to the bone in the process. The only thing it's good for is keeping plants alive and bodies of water full. Other than that, it's not pleasant.Stretching his sleeping muscles, Ryuuji had willed himself to head down to the hall, probably get himself busy, and at least, try to make the most out of this rainy day.

Ryuuji walked slowly across the hallway, trying not to make a sound. Jetblack hair swung gently as he moved and he made a mental note to get his hair trimmed. Though, he preferred it long, it was now reaching just below his shoulders. Golden eyes peered into the open room as he had passed through it, it was abandoned, entering the said room, Ryuuji had comfortably settled himself into the sitting at the window ledge, smiling at the scene before him.

Adriana Gabrielle Clarke, is, and probably forever will be, a snobby child.

No, she wasn't a purist or prejudiced against anyone, well... actually... She just felt as if she was better than everyone. One could suppose that this was caused by her parents spoiling her, but it wasn't like anyone stopped her. It was actually an interesting concept to think that maybe someone, one day, would put her in her place. But that day still hadn't come, and as a result she still had a head that was outgrowing her lean shoulders. The slytherin only liked certain people, and if she didn't like you at first, there was a strong (almost definite) chance she never would like you.

She had mixed feelings about the rain today. It was beautiful in it's own special way; it was bleak and sometimes depressing, but it brought the promise of greener plants and grass. At the same time, Adrianna would've rather been outside and writing as she often did in her spare time. An early bird as always, she was up and wandering the corridors curiously. It wasn't like anything new would just pop up, but watching the paintings on the wall was often entertaining and got a laugh out of her. Seeing such elderly and respected people bicker like small children was just amusing beyond comprehension. One time, a wizard had even walked away from his painting to yell at another!

The notebook was now frayed at the edges, worn from time and also over use. The silver of its exterior now fading into a dull greyish-blue. The pages themselves were still white, only slightly discolored at the edges. It was only her luck that she found the seemingly empty room. Without her glasses, she couldn't see the boy correctly. No, she wasn't blind as a bat, but the corners of her eyes were a little blurry. Without a single word she sat down on a table and opened her notebook, scanning the pages and scribbling things every here and there. The silence was golden, and yet she knew somehow that it would be broken.

Soft noise of flipping ivory pages filled the air. It was not supposed to be noticeable, if only there is no silence that was filling the air. But because of no further movement from any individual in the room, only the sound of the pelting rain and the shuffling of papers can be heard.

Hearing such a sound, Ryuuji teared his eyes off the scene before him, wondering who it was that had disturbed his peaceful time for himself, golden eyes turning to its natural dark brown color, Ryuuji squinted to see the said person better. A girl, probably about his age was sitting comfortably in one of the tables inside the room, seemingly unaware of his presence. Not that he would care, but at such a boring and lazy day such as this one, having someone to talk to is probably a thousand times better than just sitting around being idle and having nothing better that he could do.

Swinging his legs back and forth as he balanced himself in the window ledge, Ryuuji tried to make out where he had seen the said girl, or whether he had at least talked to her before. But his memory had betrayed him, he had no recollection whatsoever about the said girl whose probably from another house. Jumping as he pulled himself away from the window, he quietly approached the girl's places, hands in his pockets and hair covering a part of his face. Leaning down, he tried to look at the girl closer, unaware that he was being too close for comfort. "Hi there.." He muttered, pulling back as he smiled to see what the girl's reaction would be.

Adriana saw the boy before her, face heating up from the closeness. In a defense, she dropped the book and scrambled to pick it up, half-glaring at him wearily. "Hello." Her reply was brisk, not quite annoyed though. It was as if as hard as she tried, she couldn't stay mad at the unknown boy. It wasn't that he was special, Adriana just didn't have it in her to get annoyed with someone at the moment. It always required so much energy, was this really worth it? Probably not. After all why ruin the good mood she was in up until now?

"May I help you?" Her tone remained at a constant, staccato sound. She at least wanted a little space, after all going that close into someone's face was just plain awkward. Why didn't he realize that? Adriana was now on the floor, fixing her papers so that they were reorganized. Unknowingly, her name was in clear presentation, written on the cover of the book. Her handwriting was loopy and neat, her cursive penmanship perfect in it's own right. The prospect of sloppy handwriting also annoyed Adriana. There was no reason to write something down if nothing could be reread at will or used to share knowledge with others. This love for writing inclined her parents to believe that she would be placed in Ravenclaw, but apparently the hat thought otherwise.

Ryuuji was taken back by the girl's reaction, he had not expected that he would have startled her that badly that she would have drop her book. Running a hand through his hair, he smiled apologetically at the said girl. "Sorry for surprising you.." He said, a sheepish smile crossing his face as he knelt to help her arranged her things that were now scattered on the floor, no thanks to him of course.

As he was picking her papers up and stacking it properly for her, his eyes had caught glance of a neatly written name written on the front cover of the girl's book, Adriana. Well, it seemed that he wouldn't have to ask her name now, seeing that he had already known hers, well, not if the book wasn't hers, which is pretty much far from impossible. "No, not really, I just went to look if I know who you are." He said, not really minding that detached and short tone that she was using. He wanted to have someone to talk to, and there's no one else around except the two of them. "Here, I apologize again if I have scared you earlier." He remarked, handling the girl's possession back to her, hopefully though, she wouldn't get annoyed at him by now.

"It's fine it's fine.." Adriana sighed and waved her hand slightly, signalling that it didn't matter that much now that the action was done. If there was one thing that the girl could admit, it was that he had a nice smile. It was also nice to get helped with picking up her things. So maybe chivalry wasn't totally dead just yet. Though politeness was supposed to be given to everyone by everyone, it just seemed as if people lacked to remember that in modern times.

With a heavy sigh she sat back down and smiled, placing her book down and doing the same with her glasses within a couple of minutes. "Well, I'm Adriana Gabrielle Clarke. Call me whatever you want, even a nickname is fine." People seemed to give her nicknames a lot, it just sort of happened but it was getting a tad tiresome. She would have to remember what people called her, how she acted with them, and how to respond. It was just getting annoying and more strenuous with every new person met. "And who are you, stranger?" She raised a brow, then smiled even more. Well, her smile was more of a smirk. The slytherin very rarely smiled. She would smirk, snicker, laugh even, but would very rarely smile or grin. It was just the type of person she was, as horrid as that sounded it was true. Smiling was just a little too important to her to waste on just anything.

Ryuuji had had to laugh quietly to himself as he saw the girl waved his apology off. Yet, he knew that what he had done was only appropriate, after all, it was indeed solely his fault that the girl had had her things down on the ground, and thought it wasn't really his intention, he had startled her enough to actually drop her things. Yet, she seemed to not minding it at all, and at that, he was grateful.

pulling a chair, Ryuuji sat down across the girl, smiling as she introduced herself. She had a nice name and it has a nice ring on his ears. "Would Adrie or Gab be fine then?" He asked, wondering whether it would really be alright with the girl if he would call her names. Some people didn't like it, especially those from his country, only those who were close enough to be called friends are the ones who were allowed to call someone by their nickname. Yet, it seemed that the tradition in the country where he was in was different, and slowly, he was getting accustomed to it. "Ryuuji Tsukino, you can call me as you please too, though, my name is not as long as yours." He introduced himself, extending his hand for a handshake as he did so. It might appear to be rather formal, but he's kind of used to it. Just a gesture of politeness and respect it seemed.

"I like Adrie." Adriana smiled at him more and her nose wrinkled slightly. When this happened her freckles became more evident, much to her dismay. If there was one thing she disliked it was her freckles. People had made fun of her endlessly for them. From this she built up a thick skin and that was why she would be so mean to people she disliked. "And I think I'll call you..." It took her a few moments to think. "Ryuu. Is that okay?" That was the only nickname she could think of that didn't involve the word creeper at the moment. After shaking his hand she retracted her hand into her pocket and scratched her face a little. "So are you as bored as I am?"

"Ryuu, yeah, that's fine with me." Ryuuji said, it was quite a wonder though, how people would often prefer to call him Ryuu instead of Ryuuji, but that suits him just fine, for it gives of an aura of closeness as well as of friendship in his opinion. The girl's next question had caught him off guard, of course, he was just as bored as her by then, but that was not the only reason why he was talking to her, in fact, he wanted to be friends. "Well, you can say that... there really is nothing to do after all." He replied as he ran a hand through his hair.
