Jasmine walked up to the Fourth Floor in search of Tristan Collins, a Hufflepuff. It was either trying to find him at the Hufflepuff table at a meal time or search for him on the Fourth Floor where the Hufflepuff Common Room was. She decided that she would try the latter first and asked the people who passed if they knew where she might find Tristan

Tristan was on his way to the Great Hall from the common room, and feeling quite good. He had one rose already, which he was happy about. As he passed a young girl, he heard her ask around for his name. Was that another rose? He smiled, tapping her on the shoulder. "I heard you were looking for me." He told her in a slightly joking way. "Any chance it's another rose?" He held up the one he'd gotten previously. The girl was unfamiliar to him, and he thought she was in first year.

”Oh good! Yes! I have another rose for you” she said to him , smiling ”here you go” she said as she handed over the rose and note. ”Looks like you have a lot of admirers” she commented.
I grant thou wert not married to my Muse,
And therefore mayst without attaint o'erlook
The dedicated words which writers use
Of their fair subject, blessing every book.
Thou art as fair in knowledge as in hue,
Finding thy worth a limit past my praise;
And therefore art enforce'd to seek anew
Some fresher stamp of the time-bettering days,
And do so, love; yet when they have devis'd
What strained touches rhetoric can lend,
Thou truly fair wert truly sympathiz'd
In true plain words by thy true-telling friend;
And their gross painting might be better us'd
Where cheeks need blood; in thee it is abus'd.

-Sonnet 82, William Shakespeare.

Tristan took the rose from the young girl and gave her a smile. "Thanks a lot, you're doing good work delivering these." He told her. She was kind of cute, if a bit young. He wasn't sure what to expect from the red rose, as it felt serious to him because of the color. Unfolding the note, he felt his face fall slightly at the sight of the sonnet on it. He tried his best to read and understand the contents, but this wasn't his strong suit. This was obviously from Vivian, even though it wasn't signed, and it annoyed Tristan that he would send him something Tristan didn't really get. If he had the internet he could just look it up, but he doubted this stupid school had a book on Shakespeare that explained it. He folded it again and stuffed it in his pocket. "Thanks again." He told the girl, though his tone was more dismissive now. He hoped she wouldn't ask nosy questions.

Jasmine grinned widely at the boy's compliment and swayed on the spot "thanks! It's more fun than I thought it would be actually. You get to meet loads of new people. Have you been delivering any roses?" she inquired, keeping the conversation flowing. Jasmine didn't really feel intimidated by the older boy, she loved to talk to anyone. "You're welcome!" she sang as he thanked her again; she shrugged her shoulders and smiled at the boy.

Tristan smiled in a polite and friendly way at the girl, even though he wondered why she felt the need to keep talking to him. They both had other things to do, clearly. "No, actually, I haven't." He said in response to her question. "I might consider it for next year, I just always feel like I'm too busy." In truth, he felt like it was a bit of a waste of time. Meeting new people was nice, but not if you had to play delivery boy for them. The idea of having to deliver a rose to somebody he hated was enough to keep him from trying it out.
