Once upon a time Harper had played here, with the other kids, zooming around and acting like a weirdo. Most eleven-year-olds were too 'mature' for a playground, and just walked around talking, but Harper was one of those kids who knew it was important to treasure your childhood. The swings and the slide, Harper remembered seeming so much bigger, but now they seemed small.
In fact, everything seemed small. The tunnel she always used to hide in would never have Harper crawling through it again; she would just get stuck. The fireman's pole was too short for it to be any fun. It was like stepping into a whole different world.
Harper wondered if any other people her age ever came here and remembered. It seemed unlikely, as Harper was one of few people who treasured her time as a small witch. Then, Harper, thinking that there was no reason not to, went and joined a group of girls' game of tag.
