The next day after the night of the Sorting Day and Hogwarts Feast, Katerina woke up early for her first day of school when the bell rang. She was very excited to attend every classrooms. She was rushing even though it's too early to be late. After all, she waited for her the acceptance letter when she was already 10 and a half even though she's a witch. It was quite nonsense because wizard kids don't have to wait for acceptance letters because for sure, they would receive one once they turned eleven. But there's a reason why Katerina have to wait, she knew that everything is going to change once she received one and she promised that she will do her best.

It was an enjoying moment as Katerina spent for 9 hours for attending classes. She met lots of students that she became her acquaintance and all of them were nice to her. They were talking with some things in the Muggle World and she loves to talk about it everytime she was talking to wizards that were never been in the Muggle World because it really made them amazed. It was very happy to hang out with them in every break they take after and before classes. Hogwarts was really a home.
By 5 am, she decided to stay for awhile in the garden where she could study the lessons in advance instead in the library because she thought that it would be very relaxing since Katerina loves to hang out in the garden.

The garden was very beautiful than the other gardens that Katerina had visited in the Muggle World. It was very serene as the breezy wind blew over the place as Katerina decided to sit under the big tree. All was green and the birds were crooning as Katerina opened the book. It was pleasant to hear, so she decided to listen for it for awhile like eavesdropping. It was almost like a lullaby which made her sleepy but she quickly alarmed as she realized that her eyes were about to close. She shook her head and turned to her book and started to study. The scenery was almost like an autumn because of the orange painted-like sky and the leaves were falling from the trees. It was a beautiful afternoon and Katerina would like to get a piece of parchment to sketch the place but it seems that the garden was tempting her. She shook her head again and started to read. She couldn't concentrate well. It took minutes before she managed to control herself.

It was quite uncanny.

While she was reading, Katerina felt sad. She really missed her mother. She think about eating dinner without her mom and sleeping alone on a four-poster bed. Katerina bowed her head and burried face on her arms and started to wept. She missed the moments that she and her mother were eating together and kissed her before she sleep. Now who can do that for her now she's in Hogwarts? Then someone poked her right arm. Katerina looked down. It was Coquette her cat which almost like a tabby one. Katerina smiled and started to wipe her tears. She took Coquette and put it in her lap and started to caressed it which made it purred. Katerina smiled sweetly, it wasn't a regret that she bought this cat.

The silver tabby stroked past her leg as Cerridwyn Price stepped out into the beautiful grounds of Hogwarts after a long first day. She smiled down at Tinkertoo, her only friend at this enormous new school. Her hand brushed the soft fur atop the kittens delicate head and Cerridwyn crouched down to address the small creature.
"Oh, Tinks," she sighed with a light glittering through her eyes, "I wish mam and dad hadn't made us all move. Then you could have still been with your mam and litter mates."
The small kitten mewed beneath Cerridwyn's palm. The lanky girl smiled and shook her head, standing up and feeling all the blood rush to her knees. For some reason it brought back the memories of her days at the old school in Wales. The one where she was called 'sparrow legs' and 'bean pole'. Those were the memories she did not wish to remember.

Fortunately, as Cerridwyn walked on, she grew evermore distracted at the sight of a second cat. Somebody else's. It moved with swiftness to a further part of the Hogwarts garden and Cerridwyn decided to tail it.
"Come on, Tinks," she gasped back to her kitten as she began to jog along, "let's go see if we can make you a new friend."
The kitten dashed along at her heel, and together they followed the cat until it moved out of sight. But Cerridwyn did not give up. She hurried on, looking this way and that until she broke through a veil of plants and stumbled out into an opening where she could hear what sounded like somebody crying.

Approaching slowly, Cerridwyn listened out for the noise. It grew louder and louder until suddenly, and rather abruptly, it stopped. She tilted her head with curiousity before her eyes picked out the shape of a young girl petting the cat. Cerridwyn hoped dearly that this was not a private moment she had so unintentionally encroached upon, and attempted to remain quiet for a few moments as she moved closer to the girl. She had to ask, it was only polite. And she didn't like to think of someone crying to themselves when there was the possibility she could help in some manner.
"Erm.. Excuse me?" Cerridwyn spoke softly, smiling gently at the girl, "are you alright? Only, I though I heard someone crying and I just thought that maybe.."
She trailed off as Tinkertoo caught her up and began curling round her ankles, purring loudly.

Katerina squinted. She already knew that it was a complete student because of her young voice as she has.

"No, I-I'm okay." she lied but it was turning out to be true since she's not sad anymore because of Coquette.

She looked at the girl again and noticed that she has a cat. It almost looked like Coquette. Coquette was British Shorthair which was a gray cat that has black stripes and has a very large yellow eyes. And this one was a silver tabby. Katerina suddenly heard her cat purred. She caressed her cat again. And then, she noticed that the girl was wearing a yellow and black stripes necktie and had a Hufflepuff Badge. Now Katerina knew that the girl was from Hufflepuff. And since the girl was a Hufflepuff, she knew that this girl might be a friendly one. So if Katerina dared to befriend with her, it's too impossible that she might get ignored. Hufflepuffs maybe not like that.

Katerina didn't know how to start a conversation since she's not good of making friends. It would just make such awkward if she didn't think about what she's going to tell. She thought that it would be a little bit silly if she would introduced herself for awhile because the girl had asked her if she was okay. And then Katerina told she's alright and... introduce next? That wouldn't be a good start, it would make an awkward thing.

"Are you a first year?" Katerina suddenly asked with a friendly tone.

At first Katerina thought that it's kinda silly to ask that question but later on, she noticed that this might be the best one to ask before she could introduce herself.

Cerridwyn was relieved the girl was okay; she didn't much fancy trying to find her way through the winding corridors up to the hospital wing, which she had no idea as to the location of, anyhow. She gave the girl a gentle smile, hoping to come across friendly and not as her usual grumpy self. She was also thankful that the girl did not simply tell her to go away and even began what sounded like the start of a conversation. "Yes," Cerridwyn responded politely, "a Hufflepuff." She glanced down at her own school uniform, realising how stupid she must have sounded when her robes were emblazoned with the badger symbol. ".. Obviously." She muttered to herself feeling a little awkward in her words.

Cerridwyn allowed her attention to drift to the other girl's uniform, to recognise that she was in the house her parents probably would have liked her to be in. A Ravenclaw. One of the bright ones, she assumed. The house of the brainiest young students entering the school. It must be nice to be thought of as intelligent or to have such a willing nature to learn. "How did your family feel about you coming here?" She enquired in her prominent Welsh accent, "Ravenclaw is a good house to be in."

Katerina nod without even trying to let it show after the girl answered her question. She didn't know if it's quite obvious but it seems she decided not to mind about it. She just want to start a conversation. She wiped her remaining tears on her face by her handkerchief and put it back on her pocket.

"Well, they were happy about it." Katerina replied grovelly in a sudden. "What about you?" she asked. Katerina wasn't very eager that day. It was like her grief was coming back again but she was trying to control it besides, she didn't want to show it in front of anybody. She tried to think about the Sorting Ceremony last night to let her happiness back. Trying to get back the time that she was sorted in the house she desired, Ravenclaw. And it was a coincidence when she was thinking about it, she heard the girl hailed the Ravenclaw house. "Yes, it is. Ravenclaw is the best I think." Katerina agreed with a smile, hoping that her sadness won't come back again.

The weather was becoming more fine as the sun continued to sink on the orange sky and the landscape was becoming more majestic than she saw it on morning. If only she could get her camera but if she would dare to get it to her common room, it looks like she wouldn't mind anymore about the girl standing beside her, leaving just like that, so she decided not to get it. She jostled and leaned gently on the tree and noticed that she had almost forgotten to introduce herself. She moved forward and turned to the girl.

"I'm Katerina Montereal by the way, what's your name?"

Cerridwyn could sense there was a lot more going on in the girl's mind than she chose to reveal. And that was entirely her own business. Cerridwyn had learned not to intrude upon the emotional space of others and to tread carefully when allowed in to another's heart. She thought back to her own situation with a little self-pitty, though she wondered how many other students at Hogwarts were in the exact same position of being turfed out of familiar surroundings to be thrown down in this bustling wizarding country. Cerridwyn shook her head with a frown. "Yeah.." She tried not to crumple her face with thoughts, "My folks are pleased as punch. I'm happy to be here, though New Zealand was a jump and a half emotionally. I'm hoping I'll at least fit in at this school."

She smiled, thankful for the change in subject matter and blanked Tinkertoo purring and brushing up against the plants. Some of which seemed to his and purr back. "Cerrid Price. Well, Cerridwyn, but that just feels a little long and snobby." She fanned her hand as if to brush away any suggestion that her family were a proud and ancient one. While the former was not all that true, the Price family did have their place in wizarding history. Several places. None of which Cerridwyn wished to discuss unless pressed to do so.

"So, Katerina, do you like Quidditch?"

"A little bit." Katerina said, not quite sure. She had always thinking about Quidditch when she was at her own home. She knew that Quidditch was a very interesting game but when Katerina led her way now in Hogwarts, she was much more fascinated with knowledge of magic than sports. She had once thought or maybe hundreds, that Quidditch is very cool, riding on a broomstick beating up the other opponents by hitting a Bludger towards them, trying the Quaffle to get in through the ring, or preventing to let it in. Seeker was Katerina's most favorite position, catching the Snitch as much as you can. Katerina had dreamed that someday she will be a Seeker once she step her foot on her second year. Dreaming herself that she had successfully caught the Snitch while riding on a very famous broomstick. But all those dreams popped out when she's finally a first year, who had changed her mind deciding to stick up to her books instead of sports.

Floating in the air while riding on the broom... Katerina had imagined herself. And then she remembered that she had a phobia about heights. Broomsticks can bring you to a very high place and Katerina might get collapse if she dared to try it.

But even though Katerina's dream to be a Seeker someday popped to change her decision and made her way to the world of books, she would never forget her most favorite Seeker at all times who studied at Hogwarts Scotland whose name was very famous, Harry Potter. This made Katerina continue the start of conversation about Quidditch and made her feel to be interested with the topic.

"But I can say Seekers have the coolest position." she said delightedly. "Their moves were astonishing and stupendous. They have their own styles on how to catch the Snitch. They are very creative."
