Shaylah walked into the great hall and, as always, sat at the Slytherin table. This morning, she had woken up after what she considered to be a decent nights sleep-in other words, she had more than five hours. She got changed and walked down to breakfast with Sydney.
As Shaylah sat at the table, she started grabbing a few pieces of toast and putting them on her plate ready to eat.

Sydney followed her younger freind into the hall with a smile on her face. She had been a bit down for a few days, understandabley, but felt much better after her little chat with Isaac. She spotted him sitting at the table lower down but made no move to acknowledge him. Sydney grabbed some toast and buttered it heavily before taking a bite. "What lessons you got?" She asked Shaylah, her mouth still full of toast and butter,

Shaylah grinned. "Charms. So boring." She bit into her toast after buttering it. "What about you??" Shaylah looked over the other tables wondering who was in the hall or more importantly, if Sam was there. Perfect view for breakfast She thought to herself.

Sydney shrugged and took another bite as she swallowed. "I 'unno, 'Ransfi'uratio'." It would be amazing if Shaylah could understand her, while Sydney acted like a girly girl alot and was into fashion, she couldn't have more male eating methods.

Shaylah laughed. "I thought I was meant to be the tomboy here." She grinned taking another bite of her toast. "Anyway, I'd rather have transfiguration than charms. That professor actually bores me to death. He could at least get a little life in his lessons." Shay hate how boring the charms teacher was. The only fun thing about it was she had it with Steph and Sasha.

Sydney nodded and laughed, this time making sure she swallowed first. "Just 'cause I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't be hungry on a monday morning." She grinned cheekily before leaning over and grabbing three more slices of toast and covering them with butter aswell.

"I second that." Shaylah smiled as she also grabbed more toast. "At least I'm not the ony one that eats like a bloke." She laughed remembering how her dad always took the mik out of her for it. She always had a come back which made him think abot what he was saying.

Ivana grinned as she finished her letter, even managing to include one of her faourite childhood songs. Her daddy said they were going back up to New Zealand for a bit, that meant catching up time for her and her childhoos best friend: Shaylah Rouge. The brunette sealed the letter and held it out to her family owl, soon she would get her own, and watched as it flew off.

The owl flew in with the rest of the morning post and made it's way towards the girl he was delivering to. He dropped it in front of her and flew back home.

Hey Shay, guess who.

I'm sure you have no idea who it is so I'll give you a clue, We're one in the same. You get who I am now?

Anyway, onto the reason for this letter. Daddy says we might be coming back to New Zealand for a while, I don't know when but he said we can come up to see you. Apparently he has 'unfinished buisiness' with your daddy, It's probably silly like usual. Just to give you warning, I hope you haven't changed to much since we were seven, I look forward to climbing a load of tree's.

Your's amazingly
(As always)

Sydney watched as an owl flew down and dropped Shaylah a letter. It was funny, the owl wasn't her dads' and she didn't know that anyone else really wrote to Shaylah, apparently she didn't have many freinds outside of New Zealand. "Who's that from then?" She asked as she watched her freind read it.

Shaylah watched the owl as it flew away. She didn't recognise it and her dad usually used Flake. Shaylah picked the envelope up and opened it reading the letter on the inside. As she read, her mouth opened and her eyes widened. She couldn't believe it. "Merlin's beard." She said quietly. "I don't believe it." A smile widened across her face. "It's my old friend, Ivana. We haven't seen each other since we were seven. She says she's coming to New Zealand." Shaylah could't believe that Ivy was going to be there. They had been like best friends when they were seven but hadn't seen each other for so long. "Do you have a quill and ink??" Shaylah never brought her bag down to breakfast, she only got letters from her dad and she wrote back to him in her own time.

Sydney grinned and nodded, it was nice to see Shaylah happy over something that wasn't violense related, quidditch included. She handed over her school equiptment after rumaging in her bag to find it. "Here y'are, I want it back though, no slipping away with them."

Shaylah grinned and took the ink and quill of Sydney "Thanks." She then started writing a reply on the back of te letter.

Hey Ivy

I can't believe you're coming here. I haven't seen you in sooo long. Tree climbing is going straight onto my schedule (don't worry-I don't actually have a schedule). I can't wait for you to get here. We'll have to arrange to meet up at some point and go around New Zealand. It's so cool here (well, cooler than Scotland anyway).

Cant wait to see you.
Shay
