Open Obsidian Daycare Start of the Year Party

Chrys gave Tristan a knowing smile, his eyes softening as he leaned back against the wall slightly. "I can't help but think Mason will turn out just fine," he said thoughtfully, his voice carrying the warmth of someone who had been through the motions himself. He'd learned recently that kids had a funny way of shocking their parents, he was sure he'd shocked his after all, or would have if they'd been around much. Sometimes kids just managed to work things out for themselves, and no matter what they did it just managed to make things worse, that was one of the things Chrys was trying to avoid honestly. "It's hard to be a Hufflepuff, but if we both managed it I'm sure he could. After all, when you're considered to be "all the rest" that just means you've more room to be whoever you want to be, right?" The mention of feeling like they’d just graduated made Chrys laugh, a deep, warm chuckle that carried through the room. "If we keep talking about it, we'll probably start feeling ancient," he teased. "But you know, no matter how much time passes, some things never really change."

Honey smile brightly, her eyes lighting up as Mason spoke. "Oh, I think the grass is perfect!" she said enthusiastically, not noticing the hint of doubt in his voice. "And swings are definitely part of the fun! You can even make some flowers or trees in the background if you want - anything that makes it feel like your special place." Her voice was encouraging, as she always tried to make her friends feel good about their creative choices. She glanced over at the girl who resembled the one in her drawing and felt a twinge of curiosity. It was funny how people could remind you of something, even without meaning to. Honey hesitated for a moment, then shrugged it off. Her gaze returned to Mason, still smiling. "Don't worry, Mason. Even if it doesn't look exactly how you picture it, it’ll still be great, I promise! You just have to keep going, okay?" She gave him a gentle nudge, as if to say that sometimes it was more about having fun with the process than worrying about how it turned out.
