Today Jackson had nothing to do, which meant it was time to analyse the scenery and pick possible targets for his pranks. His mission started now. As a Hufflepuff he didn't took too long deciding where he could search for possible targets, the fourth floor, where the Hufflepuff House was seemed the best, not only because of all the Hufflepuffs but also because of all the students that liked to hang in the student lounge and all the nerds that went to the library.
The boy took a sit right on the floor against a wall, trying to find a hiding spot was too suspicious and since he was a Hufflepuff it wasn't really suspicious if he was seen in that corridor. He started playing with Cashew nevertheless, just to make a plausible excuse on why he was on the floor and outside in the corridor. There was a lot less movement than the boy initially thought but he managed to pick some people who seemed to be good targets already, never much older students or professors, he was not trying to have some kind of curse casted on him, at least not when he was so unexperienced... maybe next year he would adventure himself to do so.

Jingyi had heard a lot about the castle from his sister, but now he was really curious to have a proper look around himself. If there was one thing he wanted to accomplish it was finding all the secret passageways and shortcuts before he graduated. Seven years was plenty of time to find everything he was sure of. And he felt there was no better time to get started with his searching than right at the beginning of the year. He had left the Gryffindor common room, not bothering to check for his brother, and started to head down the stairs, eventually coming to a stop on the fourth floor. He'd heard the Hufflepuff common room was around here and he thought it would be useful to know where it was. However, before he even started looking for that, his attention was grabbed by another boy, a rather suspiciously acting boy, at that. Jingyi frowned at him for a moment before shoving his hands into his pockets and wandering over to where he was sitting. "What are you sitting on the floor for?"

Jackson was suddenly distracted from his thoughts by a voice near him. He turned his head up and looked at the boy, a boy he could be sure he recognised from the sorting ceremony but wasn't sure what house he was on. He smiled at the boy, "Just playing with Cashew" he said before looking back to pink cat who was distracted nibbling his fingers. "I'm Jackson by the way but you can call me Jax" he told the boy widening his smile, "Wanna sit and play with him?" Jackson offered. The best in these type of situations was to distract other people from what he was actually doing, and Jackson was almost a professional at it, he could easily fool Noah and Gray... just not Aaliyah and his parents, but Cashew was the perfect distraction, so, if the boy agreed to play with the cat he would hopefully be too distracted to catch on what Jackson was doing.

Jingyi hadn't noticed the cat the boy had been playing with, but he still didn't really think it was an excuse for sitting on the floor. It was... suspicious. "I'm Jingyi," he did however still introduce himself with a smile, eyes fixating on the cat for just a moment. And then the boy, Jax, decided to ask if Jingyi wanted to sit on the floor as well and play with said cat. "Um... no thanks," he was rather quick to turn down the offer, shaking his head, "I'm not really a cat person." He much preferred dogs, though just thinking about that was making him miss Cho. Why couldn't they bring dogs to school with them? It was unfair and he missed his big fluffy husky companion.

This guy was kinda ruining the whole 'lay low' vibe and was just standing there looking at him, not really the most discreet thing in the world but he had already mentally marked some people that seemed good targets, he just needed to find out their names. He quickly jumped back on his feet, "Oh you are one of those" he said half smiling to Jingyi and thinking about Tim, a boy he met while shopping that also had a dog and didn't liked cats, "I personally love cats a lot more... they are independent, smarter, and just aren't as loud" he said, "Plus pink looks better on them" he half joked looking back at Cashew again who he could almost swear was smiling.
Suddenly he remembered something, he had no idea why the other boy was there "Why are you here anyways?" he asked out of curiosity, maybe Jingyi was here for the same reason he was, maybe not, or maybe Jackson was Jingyi's target to prank. He would not let that happen, you can't outsmart the master of pranks.

He took a small step back when the other boy jumped up to his feet but then he frowned at the sudden accusation. "What do you mean, one of those?" What even was a 'one of those' he was referring to? Just because he wasn't a cat person over a dog person didn't mean he didn't like cats or anything. He just preferred dogs. "Dogs are more fun," they also loved to be petted whenever and weren't prone to accidentally scratch you all of the time. "And, besides, dogs aren't even pink to begin with," so he didn't really see what that had to do with anything. But the question just had him shrugging a shoulder, "I'm just looking for the Hufflepuff common room. I heard it was around here and thought it would be useful to know where it was."
