Felix had always wanted to try bobbing for apples. It always seemed so fun but for some reason he never got around to it during the Halloween feast. Usually he was too busy trying to eat as many sweets as he could without getting sick or checking out all the different spooky things around the great hall. But this year he made the mistake of betting Thistle he could get more apples than she could and they had been in a bitter competition most of the night. But the one thing he hadn't considered before issuing the challenge was their costumes. The way it covered their heads made it nearly impossible, even when they opened it far enough to get their heads out. It was still too bulky to be any good at the game. In a way they were both losing and the apples were winning.

Dressing as frogs had been Thistle and Felix's best idea ever. She was sure of it. Getting around in the bulky costume was.... challenging, but they looked AWESOME and that... had been all that mattered. Until now. Thistle had never in her life backed down from a challenge given by any of her siblings, but Felix was by far the one she had the best chance of beating, especially now that they were the only two left in school. So she had done her absolute best to tackle the apples, sopping wet to match her costume as she ribbited in false triumph between apple retrievals.
