Roses. To most are a generous symbol of love and dedication, roses had the power to look beautiful and deadly all at the same time. Those who tried to pick them without being careful, would meet an unfortunate pain in their hand. As roses, no matter how beautiful, had thorns, that were anything but. Especially to a certain young Ravenclaw that currently sat as still as a stone, curled up in a all of protection, his knees to his chin and his arms around his ankles. This was where Andy Hydran currently resided, in the middle of the roses, though he did not like them.

Andy did not like many things, flowers were right up there, especially roses, they did not smeel nice, to Andy, they did not look nice, to Andy and their thorns were enough to keep Andy from even looking at them. Some would call Andy a paranoid, fearful worry-wart, Andy called himself a cautious, life loving thinker, as he had no wish to die, which was why he did not touch tthe roses, they could possibly prick him, causing him to bleed, and in true Andy behavior, he would faint and then what? He could be lying out here for hours, possibly dying from blood loss. So even if Andy heard someone coming, he would not move, he would just sit, hoping that the person would not see him and walk on, though his small frame was hard to miss, since he was so pale and hhis bblonde hair stuck out from the green and red of the rose bush, that was another problem, red and green, Andy feared those colours for unknown reasons, he just did not appreciate their existence and wished tthem to ggo.

Madlyn walked the gardens by any means of getting outside of the school and away from the piling of essay waiting for her in the dormitory. Madlyn wanted vacation to start already so she could breathe a little easier with out the constant reminder of exams. Since she couldn't get away and there was no way her mom will send for her early, Madlyn escape to the school grounds. She notice a lot lately she's been in the garden more then a few times and wonder if it meant anything to her. Madlyn liked flowers but she preferred the sanctuary of the forest rather then a bed of roses. In the forest Madlyn couldn't be easily seen, while in the garden she stood alongside of the tall hedges and hated that anyone would spot her from a mile away sometimes, especially times like this. When she needed a breather or two, and it's constant disturbance did not help when the professor saw and asked that she'd get back to her assignment.

It was a nice autumn day out, Madlyn would be seen ducking into the garden wishing no professor would see her then. If her dad was still alive, there was no way she'd escape from him. Madlyn maneuver around the garden taking slow strides while being cautious of her surrounding. So far none of professors came running out after her, that was good sign she guessed. She walked along bored out of her mind till something out of focus grasp her attention in the garden. She sweared he was a ghost, he was so pale and looked petrified to death, but ghost did not own clothes nor do they sit there scared of their life in fetal position. The weirdness of the younger boy made her extremely curious and a little worried he was about to barf rainbow of colors. "Are you okay, you seem a little sickly?" Madlyn spoke from over the hedges, she would go near but he looked so scared out of his life, she was afraid he died seeing the likes of her approaching him.

Andy hated being outdoors, he could hear too much. He could hear bugs and birds doing what bugs and birds did, he could see creepy-crawelies roaming around, like they owned the place, it made Andy feel sick, having so much wildlife around him. They were called wildlife for a reason, they were wild, scary, uncompassionate life, bugs wouldn't think twice about biting him. Bird wouldn't think twice about swooping him, though Andy did quite like birds, he only liked trained or fake birds, wild birds? Were wild birds. Enough said.

At the sounded of someone's voice, a female voice, Andy turned his head to look at the source, a girl, older than him. This made him uncomfortable, more so than he already was. He didn't feel safe around people he didn't know, especially if they were older than him. But something was different about this pparticular girl, but he could not figure it oout, he could not fully see her, so he had yet to realize just how different she was, though, Andy was not ththe mort normal person going. ''I... i'm fine...'' he answered quietly, burrying his chin into his knees. ''I'm... not sick...'' he added, hoping that the girl would leave him alone, though something inside him told him tht this wish would probably go unanswered, they usually were.

Madlyn pouted. Least he wasn't sick. She stayed there looking down at the boy. She moved her legs bending one after the other, back and fourth but stationed in the same place. She had no clue what to do, he look like he didn't want to be bother. Although she couldn't help but be here and want to know why the boy was idle in the middle of roses with the look of lonesomeness in his face. "Well what's wrong? You look scared and there's nothing to be scared about" she pointed that out to him. Roses were gentle, like she was with people. Well she had no choice, her parents taught her at very young age even when someone makes you mad you can't go around knocking some sense into them. for if she did, she probably killed them the first try. That was after when they discovered she would be a part-giant like her dad.

Madlyn stop moving her legs. Madlyn wanted to know why he was so sacred looking, Madlyn tried to edge closer revealing herself a little to the boy. If he saw the rest of her now, oh what the hell not! Madlyn doubt he'd never saw her before, she was the tallest thing in school, last year her dad had been the tallest thing in school. He was killed too, that was old news. Everyone should know about her by now she thought. If the boy didn't know, then where has he been? Under a rock more likely with the way he look all battered and twig like. Madlyn moved out to the open with her hand on her big hips. Madlyn look down at the boy, "You know if you need someone to talk too, I'm all ears!"

Why couldn't people leave him alone? Why did they have to try to help him all the time? Why didn't people just shrug and wonder off? Surely they would understand that Andy liked being alone, even if he was surrounded by things he was scared of, having one more fear was getting to be too much for the ssmall Ravenclaw, things were getting too complicated, things were too busy, too hard, he had seriously been considering transferring, but he soon realized that things would be the same, in fact, they'd be worse, he wouldn't have his cousins to help him when he was scared, he wouldn't be able to run to them for support and help if he left Hogwarts, so he decided to stay, because the only other alternative was being home-schooled, and his father wwouldn't teach him anything, he hated magic, and his aunts and uncles couldn't drop everything just to help so, so Hogwarts was the only alternative, unless one of his cousins left with him, which was not going to happen.

Andy shook his head, the girl was talking to him, why couldn't Andy meet a mute? Or even better, a mute pacifest, surely they were nice, he wouldn't have to talk to them, and they wouldn't attack him, that must be the perfect person. ''There is plenty to be scared of.'' He answered, if he answered all her questions, surely she would wonder back whereever she came from. But when the girl came fully into view, Andy nearly died, she was so big, Andy was a smal boy, very fragile and frail looking, but now? He was a stone, he was completely still, he wasn't even breathing, his face was slowly turning blue and his lungs were slamming against his ribs, wanting air, willing for Andy to take a breath. Eternity seemed to pass before Andy finally took a breath and stuttered out a small reply to the abnormally large girls inquire.''I... i'm fine... thank you...'' he whispered, his blue eyes showing his worry and fear for his surroundings and company. Some one really hated him.

Madlyn couldn't understand him, he was so low into the grounds while she was way up high. Madlyn had always had trouble when others whispered to her, it's like they did not see that she was way to tall hear them and they were oblivion to the fact they had a disadvantage over her. Madlyn found it difficult but she guessed whatever was said wasn't meant for to hear. Madlyn would have ignored it and went on somewhere else but she really wanted to know what he had said. "Excuse me, I really can't hear you at all' she said nicely as not to offend him. Madlyn saw his sudden expression fall when he realized that he had been speaking to a part giant all this time. Poor kid, she really didn't mean to frighten him that way. Madlyn should have thought before she went on exposing herself, now it was a little to late. He looked pale close to fainting, oh Mother Nature please don't let me kill this kid. Madlyn step back quickly behind the hedges, she went onto thinking if she hid again maybe he would be a little alright. Maybe he won't die just get and maybe she could actually help him better this way.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise I won't. Plus I'm not allowed to hold or pick up anyone not matter the situation unless you were sick or something" she went on to clarify that before he got the idea that she would be able to hold him and beat him or something. Cause it sure seems like he didn't get it or know what it was like to meet a part-giant as herself. With that she would understand, if no one had ever met one personally she'd get it why he would be afraid. "How bout we start off by exchanging name? I'll go first..my name is Madlyn and I'm a Gryffindor" she attempted to sooth her voice and sound sincere. By any given chance he would fall for her attempt at kindness and not die on her. Madlyn would hate to be the result of someone dying on her for just talking, losing her father was enough dying Madlyn could take for a couple years.

Andy frowned deeply, his little pale face still showing the fear he held inside. The monster in front of him, that obviously wanted to eat him, was wanting him to repeat himself? She expected him to be able to reconstract his previous sentence? Was she crazy? Or was she just trying to lul him into a false sense of security? Was she planning some horrible scheme that would end in his untimely demise? Andy shuddered at the thought, but somehow found the ability to repeat himself, this time a little louder, though his voice was shaky and quiet squeaky. "There is plenty to be scared of." He said, breathing deeply to keep himself conscieous, as long as he was still awake, he had the ability to scream his lungs out, just in case the girl came closer and tried to kill him, it was obvious that it was going to happen, what with her evil face and her terrifying voice, to Andy, she looked like she was about to pick him up and use him as a tooth pick, it was so clear to him that she was here to cause him harm, how could anyone allow such a person to attend a school with other students? Surely there had already been deaths of the worst kind, he knew they must have been caused by this girl, she screamed: 'Imma kill you!', well, she did to Andy.

To say that Andy did not believe the girl that stood before him would be a gross understatement, it was clear to him that this girls only job in life was to kill him. He could not bring himself to allow himself to believe her for a second, he wasn't sure if he wanted to, she was far too scary, far too big, far too dangerous to his frail little body and his panicing and worrying mind. But at the mention of the word 'sick', Andy stiffened, sickness included fainting! If he fainted now, she'd touch him! She'd pick him up, as in remove him from the ground! As in, causing him to defy gravity! As in, making it very possible that he would fall and break his bones! He could not allow this to happen, he had to stay conscious, he had to stay alive, he had to keep breathing! The only thing that gave him a small sense of safety was that she gave him her name and house, what crazy murderer gave their poor unsuspecting victim their name and address? "Andy..." He muttered quietly, but made sure that she could hear all the same, he did not want to repeat himself once again, he wasn't sure he could."Ravenclaw..." He added. He was still frightened, no amount of soothing and calming voices would get him to settle down, not for a while anyway.

This situation was not turning around like Madlyn hope it would, if she hadn’t blink in between starring down at the boy she would swear he was turning paler that it was starting to look more like yellowish puking color. In the days that she had started to grow tall, small children were afraid of her the most till she was able to control her steps when she walked and she had walked with courage instead of worrying about what people thought of her height. Little by little others saw passed that her extreme tall lengths, she became pleasant to be around. Felt great to see humanity level has not drop amongst the magic community, she was afraid to say with Andy she worried if she was to butch, to tall, and why was he afraid so much?! Madlyn coax an eye brow, she stood firm in her grounds, and this was not a reason to be angry she reminded herself in silence. This was time to understand where HE was coming from and how HE felt about her being around and maybe HE just needed time to get use to her. Or maybe it’s just him?

“I agree, you’re right. There is always something to be afraid of.” She said softening up once more, she stood humble again and prevent the boy’s way get to her. She was bother by him being afraid of her, course she had to realize yet again she was the biggest thing in this school walking and talking. Almost half the size of a mountain troll, now those things were disgusting. Madlyn recalled last year seeing one on a class trip, if only he knew there were something a lot worst then Madlyn roaming the earth. If he indeed was a Ravenclaw, Madlyn would believe that he knew it, but everything else in the world is not around him now, stupid Madlyn you’re a giant, he’s a kid. Madlyn frown. “I’m afraid of getting stuck in small places, I use to be afraid of goblins but not anymore though I still get scared whenever they’re around. I get petrified when I’m lost, I know being tall and all I wouldn’t get lost but I do a lot.” She said making herself sound vulnerable so he would see she was just like him. “What are you afraid if it’s alright to ask?” she question, if he didn’t know it yet she was talking more to get him to talk more.

Andy was not sure what he did to make the spirits hate him so. What had he done to make the spirits of his ancestors do this to him? A giant? Really? There were so many other ways for him to die, namingly old age that sounded like a nice way to go, old age, as in, nowhere near young age. He sighed softly, he didn't know why he had such bad lucky, why he had such bad taste in wollowing places. Next time, he was just going to sit on his bed and wollow, none of this 'leave the castle' business, he had yet to faint in the safety of his bed, no one usually went in there to begin with, except to sleep, so it was purfect, they would be quiet, Andy would be quiet... it was a win win situation. But in all honesty, the more talking Madlyn did, the more ridged Andy became, he looked a lot like a stone. He was pale and was barely moving from his current positions, as long as he kept breathing, the giant coudln't eat him. As long as his vocal-cords were still functional, the giant couldn't eat him...

Andy decided not to comment on her first statement, it would be pointless and he was currently working on his heartbeat, it seemed to be going very fast, then stopping, then going very fast again and stopping once more, this happened when he was sscared, like now. He could also get her fears. Being giant, obviously she wwouldn't like small spaces, it would obviously be harder for hher to attack her prey because she would bbarely be able to move. Being giant again surely accounted for the fear of goblins, like elephants being scared of mice. And the lost part? Obviously her head would get caught in trees or low hanging clouds, it sounded like it wwould be simple for her tto bbe llost. But when she asked him about his fears? He decided that she deserved at least one reply, but it was going to be big. ''I am scared of spiders, bugs, water, heights, mountains, red, green, yellow, orange, the dark, the sun, sun burns, moon light, the moon, too much noise, too little noise, strangers, hugs, the cold, the hot, goblins, giants, veelas, werewolves, cliffs, old people, young people, scary people, ice, rocks, running, mammals, marsupial, reptiles, lightening, thunder, eating, sleeping, worrying, shaking, illness, fire and blood.'' He said, though by his face, it was obvious that the list was far longer, he just shortened it to his main fears.

Madlyn should’ve seen this coming. She heard him list out all his fears, never and she would mean from the bottom of her deepest soul have she met someone as strange as Andy. He made the boy she likes look simple next to Andy. She had to really think what to say or what how to react. It was like a-what-now kind of moment. Should she stay? Should she leave? There was little to say about that, or to him. She felt sorry for him as a person, must be hard to make friends or talk to any other human being. How did he function in life? Why was he in school if he feared the world so much?! How can his parents allow him to set food outside the world, he clearly belong at St.Munogs or inside bubble oxygen container.

“I think I’m better off leaving you alone. I don’t want anything happen to you because of me” she felt awful for being a giant now. He put her in a mood in which she felt bad for just being herself. It’s nothing that she could change and it was people like him who put her in the worst mood despite the fact she felt sorry for the poor wash out boys. It was hard to feel sorry when she hated being tall right now. Madlyn crossed her arms and turn around, she took a few steps away from his viewed giving him the impression that she had left. Madlyn did not leave she stop midway from leaving. Andy the Ravenclaw boy had her thinking now, thinking more she should say. “No you know what” she turns around wand walked over to the boy and stood a couple inches away. “I will not leave, I’m trying to be nice and I will stay here till I make a friend out of you” she said crossing her arms peering down at him. He would deal with it and that was that.

Lonely. That was how Andy felt, especially right now. His intelligent mind told him that he had insulted the girl and that he should apologies. But everything else in his mind and body was telling him that he should celebrate the fact that she had left. It was not his fault that he feared the girl, at a young age he tried to raise himself without any parenting figure to go by, except his father, who was quiet and a workaholic that was never there, so he had nothing to go by, which was how he became who he was, a fearful, timid, shy boy that happened to be scared of everything but family, and even then sometimes his family could be terrifying. He sighed, the inner turmoil he felt right now was rare, but strong. Occasionally he would find a perfectly nice person, but because of one characteristic they possessed, he would be incapable of socialising with them because he would be scared, it wasn't like he was rascist or anything, well, not on purpose, but his fears kept him from functioning correctly, it was hard.

But when she suddenly reappeared, Andy decided that he would be a little out-of-character, like Daniel, yes, like Daniel. What would Daniel do right now in response to that? Probably jump up and give her a hug, apologising for being so rude, Andy shook his head, maybe trying to be Daniel was not the best thing. He would faint if he hugged her, even if he started the hug, he wouldn't be able to handle it. He sighed once again, maybe this could be cleared by one simple sentence, he was going to say it loud and hopefully without faulting. ''I'm sorry...'' he said, standing up, he swayed slightly, he was not comfortable with standing up so close to the girl, she was so tall... it was intimidating to say the least, he took deep breaths, he could do this, hopefully. ''I agree, small spaces are scary...'' he said, trying to be funny, showing that he was trying to be more friendly than he had been, but it was hard, his bright blue eyes showing his fear and worry, but also his determination, though it was weak.

Oh brother, just realize this was not in the garden. Why me?

Madlyn ready herself to say something insulting, rude, probably ignorant. Madlyn wanted a good comeback just in case if he said something rude. And if he had said something, she would've replied something in a blunt way. Making a point to come out insensitive, no longer using her soothing big-sister voice. Madlyn was shocked, she felt bad thought she was shock. he had apologize, he had said he was sorry, not only did that he agreed with her about small spaces. Madlyn smirked, she shook her head just like he did a few minutes ago, she felt stupid but she made less obvious while he was much obvious about his feelings. He was sorry, still he looked scared to be standing right next to her, she had to once more sympathize with the tiny little wizards. "No I'm sorry, I should've known somehow you'd be afraid of me. It's not everyday thing when you meet a part-giant" to be fair to him, Madlyn went completely to the ground, she sat down on her behind and crossed her long legs. At this level they were the same, she'd be less scary and he won't have to worry about her butt squishing him.

"So tell me, if you're afraid of so much in this world. Why do you even go to public school, if you don't mind that I ask" she was interesting to know what he was all about. It be brand new to her, meeting a boy who fears everything. It was a buzzard tale, something that's most likely would be made up in folks tales.

xD You're just lucky I guess.

Andy had to agree with what Madlyn said, in all his life, he had never met a giant, he had seen some pretty tall people, but never a giant before, it was eerie for him because he didn't like being looked over, though it was simple since he was quite small, it did not make him any more comfortable with the fact that many people, some younger than him by several years, could see right over his little blonde head. "I have never met a part-giant..." He agreed quietly, deciding that since he had stepped up to continue the conversation, and Madlyn had already said that she was not going to remove herself until she made a friend of him, he might as well try to carry on some form of conversation, though his waves of shudders never stopped. Just because he was talking now, did not meant that he was any more comfortable or less-frightened of the girl, it just meant that he was willing to use his voice for more than screaming.

Andy frowned slightly with thought. That was an interesting question and he was not entirely sure if he wanted to answer it. He had come because of Daniel, Drake, Justin and Hazel, and the fact that he had been invited, but the bigger reason would have to be that fact that it was either here, or home, and at home there was going to be no learning of any sort of magic, one of the only things that tied him to his deceased mother was the fact that they both had magic, though his father also had magic, and came from a magical family, it was different because his father was alive, still breathing and moving, sure they had next to no contact, dispite living in the same house, he was still there, Andy saw him occasionally and could sometimes hear him talking to friends or family, though mostly friends, Andy was really he only person in the house that actually kept in close contact with every one in the family. But what was he to tell Madlyn? All of that? No. That would probably cause her to hug him or something, and he already knew how that would end, his heart would probably stop and he would die, or he would faint and once again, wake up in the hospital wing. "I came here because my cousins are here..." He explained, deicding to use his subexcuse as the main one. "Why are you here?" He asked, there were plenty more schools for her to go to. It was obvious that Andy needed to be babysitted by family if he were to fully function, so that was obvious as to why he basically had to come, but Madlyn could probably go anywhere, whether family were at Hogwarts or not, she didn't appear to need help in functioning in the world.

Madlyn sat stone as a statute; she tried very little now then to frighten the boy. When she went to move it was barley, she would blink her eyes and closed her mouth went to swallow back her saliva. Madlyn did small moving around, as long as he was still talking then he seem fine to her. Madlyn wouldn’t know, he was still calmly and he spoke with almost a shuttered. She bit back her lips to make a comment, it’s enough that at least he was trying, as much it might have been killing him, she gave him enough credit for trying. ”Well maybe you don’t know a lot about us? Fully giants are scary and I advise you never to talk to them, they wouldn’t understand you completely” she explain a little about the race she only knew by her father’s word and some studies she had done over the years in school. ”It’s good that your cautious” she finished up her point. Madlyn would’ve gone on; nevertheless she didn’t want to bore Andy with a quick crash course on giants.

”That make sense that means you must be close to your cousins?” she smile at Andy. Madlyn got along well with her sisters, it’s just sad they didn’t get to see each other all the time and so many of their own Holidays had gone uncelebrated because of school and careers. She was fortunate to have Briar here; she was pretty much all the support that she needed. ”I decided before I came here that I wanted to go to school and not be home school. It would’ve been easy not to come here, you know be home school and not have the experience of going to school” she remembered sorting, she had come with a tough attitude and judge everyone before they judge her. ”Then I would’ve gone in life asking what if, I took the chance that was the basically the point” her eyes dance, her smile was wider than ever. Remembering had made her easy going and relaxed, she was at ease. ”You know if you came here and you’re so afraid of the world, I think you don’t give yourself enough credit. “

Madlyn was right, Andy knew nothing about giants or part giants or anything really, but that was because he didn't go out of his way to say 'Hi! I'm Andy and I'm talking to you today to see if you'll eat me!' That would just be crazy, though he could see Daniel doing it, and the problem and worrying thing about it would be the fact that he would be serious, he probably would talk t a giant to see if it would eat him, that was the sort of kid he was, and it worried Andy a lot, Daniel really needed to learn to settle down, and no matter what Andy did, he would never settle down, he would jjust jump about and laugh. ''Is it... hard?" He asked. ''Being a giant?" He added, he knew that she was not aa full giant, she had mmade the quite clear to him, but he figured she would know that he meant to ask her if it was difficult being so gigantic compared to other students and probably teachers and maybe some trees.

He smiled slightly. If there was one thing that would make Andy smile, it was his cousins, they weren't scary and they knew him from birth, well, Daniel did, with the other three, Andy knew them ffrom birth. They shared family and blood, they shared iinterests and they understood wwhat he meant when he spoke about spirit guides or about home life, though the latter was a rare subject to ever leave his mouth, the fact tthat he could think about talking to them about iit proved that hhe trusted them greatly, possibly with his life. ''Yes I am.'' He answered. 'I've known them my whole life, they've always been there.'' He explained, more so than his oown father. He nodded to her explanation, it was a good one, and when she pointed out that he should give himself more credit, he was shocked, never had anyone ever said that to him, people would say that he needs to grow up, or that he was being silly and was wimp, but they never said that he needed to give himself credit for leaving his house, because everyone thought that it was irregular to be Andy, and it was true, but sometimes what was irregular for some people, was regular for Andy. ''Thank you...' he said quietly.

Madlyn nodded. "It's hard because they say a lot up you that's not true and then there are those who make fun of you because of your height. Which I quite frankly don't understand, everyone different in their own way" the years at school had did wonders on Madlyn. She had to learn from experience that not everyone was going to judge you or point out your flaws, yes she was different but she wasn't any different from Briar, Andy, or Minoas. She had grown out of her state of mind and walked out of her comfort zone all the time whenever she did leave to school in September. Cause she never knew if she was ever going to meet someone new who would be mean to her or someone nice, it's all about taking risk. "But besides that I do wish to be normal once in a while, it be a lot easier for like clothes and stuff" she shrug, or else she had long ago excepted her difference and there was no other way she would have liked things the way it went.

Madlyn simper, she could see they same the exact views on family. She had many cousin back in America, it was always nice to see them when she saw them on break. "That's good! I have never cross path with any of them I'm sure but I bet they are fun to have around" she lean down to one side of the grass, she had stayed not moving so long that it was hurting her posture and muscle on her back. She had to move, when she moved she lean on the palm of her big hand. "You're very welcome, really there might be more to you then you don't see" she shrug again in a just saying sort of way. He probably had some hidden potential, some bit courage ready to burst out anymore. Why he had courage now to talk to her, it was very impressive to Madlyn. However not to over do it, she stop not to mention it, poor boy was still frail. There was no telling what else set him off.

Andy nodded slowly, he was absorbing all she was telling him, though it was not swaying his fear of her, it was enabling him to compile a small bio about her, hopefully he could use it later in life to try to get himself to look her directly in the eyes, though it would be difficult if she were standing, and the fact that he found her terrifying also stopped him from looking her in the eye, he was looking at her, but not in the eyes, it was too hard for him. But he could not believe the nerve some people had, teasing her about her height? She could step on them, she could belly-flop them, how could they dare insult her? But she was right about one thing, everyone was different in some way, shape or form. "People pick on you?" He asked, quite shocked. His fear of her did not hide the fact that he registered that she was kind, but personalities could change when angry, so he had no idea why someone would ever pick on her, surely if she really wanted to, she could easily cause them great harm? he nodded to her next statement, he could see the problems when finding clothes, she was very tall. But he also had a similar problem, finding clothes for his age were difficult, he was fourteen and he liked to dress like it, not like a ten year old, and though it did not sound like a huge difference in age, clothes were quite different. But instead of sharing his annoyance, he simply nodded silently.

Andy shrugged, he doubted that she would realise if she ran into any of them, they rarely gave last names, that included Andy, and they didn't look anything like him. Unlike Andy, his cousins Daniel and Hazel had lovely tanned skins, like toast and they shared honey brown eyes and brown hair, while Justin and Drake were twins, it was quite simple to realise that they were related, but Andy was a small, pale, blue eyed blonde, they shared nothing physically in common. "My cousin is in Gryffindor." He commented. Andy was much more comfortable when talking baout his cousins, they were the only real stable thing in his life, the subject of them kept his heartrate down to a decent speed, it scared him when he could hear his heartbate, which made his heartbeat speed up. He stiffened, though he didn't mean to, his blue eyes watched her carefully as she changed her posture, obviously to a more comfortable position for her, that didn't mean that his mind didn't work in overdrive to try and keep him safe, though he was not in any real danger. But Andy wasn't sure if he wanted to see more than he did of himself, he had seen enough of himself in his oppinion, he knew what he was scared of and he knew what he liked and that was enough for him, he didn't want to know anything else. He felt his heartbeat rise once more and decided to return to his cousins. "He is quite happy to be in Gryffinor..."

Madlyn nodded. She was picked on when she didn't know or when they got the impression that she wasn't listening. There's been several times when someone would say something rude without meaning too. Madlyn tolerated so much and it was because of her dad she learn to deal with other peoples criticism about her. "Yes, but I don't care what they say, nothing they say it's true. And if it is, it's nothing that I don't know about" she shrug. Always about her being tall, always about her having the ability to crush anyone to pieces. She's heard it all. And it never stops, but why bother? Madlyn did not care. She simply ignored the negative remarks and kept it moving.

Madlyn noticed he had stiffen, he mention his cousin but when she moved he notice his reaction. He was still afraid of her, this was going to be seriously annoying if he kept doing that whenever she moved. She shook her head at Andy, the only way he was going to get over this fear was to touch her. To prove that she was like him, and no height made no difference. Taking the chance, she reached over him and touched his shoulder with one finger. She then ran her fingers slowly down his arm, "See I'm not going to hurt you, I'm human like you, I'm no difference, I'm nice? Please don't be afraid"

Andy found it amazing, how could she deal with all the names? Andy knew that he would probably buckle under the pressure if he were teased as well. But since he usually kept to himself, always sitting very quietly and trying to not be noticed, though lately all his plans had flown down the drain, he had been getting a lot of unwanted attention these past few weeks, especially from hazel since she was mortified by the fact that he had fainted. It was embarrassing and disrupting for him, all he wanted was to be braver, or at least less scared. He sighed slightly as he realized how awful he was, he disliked mean and horrible people, and that was what he was being, just simply awful. Here he was, wishing that she were not a giant, wishing that she would change herself for him, a horrible boy that was still shaking. He frowned tto himself, he felt dreadful, his worrying ways were returning, was he turning into someone that he didn't want to be? Was he a horrible person? Yes, yes he was, only horrible people wished for others to change, especially for their own good. ''I'm sorry...'' he whimpered, he felt dreadful, just simply dreadful.

One thing about Andy that when thought about, was not so weird considering his other fears. But he was frightened of contact with people, that included his cousins. He didn't like hugs, pokes, kisses or pats on the head, they made him want to run away. The added fact that Madlyn's fingers and hands were so big, it felt like she coukd pick him up and throw him into the lake, and it was a far distance away. The added fact that there was a cold breeze flying in frofrom the lake, made his mood fall considerably, why couldn't he be stronger, his heart seemed to stop, and he had forgotten to brbreath for want seemed like hours, he soon started breathing again as Madlyn spoke to him soothingly, he tried his best not to die, no matter how pale or scared he grew. "Okay." He squeaked, much like a little momouse.

Madlyn took back her hand, she was forcing him not to be afraid. And that was wrong, no one should make them feel that way. She shook her head, "There's nothing to be sorry about in fact don't say sorry at all. When you feel like you need to say it just say my bad how about that?" she smiled. If he was ever going to like her and be okay with her around, he would've have to get over his fear on his own time and at his own pace. She would have to accept that about the young Ravenclaw, if they were ever going to be friends. Madlyn moved her legs this time she bend them and tuck them under her elbows, she rested her arms on her knee-cap and wrap her arms around her knee. She wonder how long she could stay still for this long, or if she should stay any longer with Andy. He was such a sweet boy, though odd company to keep around.

"Andy, Andy, Andy" she said out loud, she did not look at him when she said it, Madlyn still held an appealing smile. Her brown eyes travel away from the pale boy, she could see further away from the rosebush it's always a great advantage when you were passing seven feet tall and almost hitting eight feet. Why she could see the cliff from here and part of the ocean horizon, the sun was still high above them but the weather was mild and a little chilly. A cyclone of wind passed her arms and up her shoulder. She shuttered, goosebumps rose out of her tan skins. Madlyn shift on the ground, she turn her eyes right back to Andy, "It was nice to meet you today, even if it wasn't much of a great meeting for you. You learn something? Eh?" she relax her shuttering posture, she was thinking what she should do now.

Andy's breathing was getting worse. He felt faint, things were going fuzzie again. He had been trying to hard to keep himself awake, to not faint, to not fall down. But it was getting difficult, so much so that he had to sit down. He folding his little legs and hunched over slightly, trying to regulate his breathing, the sad thing was that he knew exactly what to do, because this was not the first time this had ever happened, it was just one in a long line of close fainting calls. But it coukd easily turn into something bad, like him fainting, again. He didn't want that to happen again, the first time was horrible, Daniel and Hazel had gotten into a horrible fight, and his father had been told, he was not too happy at all, in fact, he was furious. Andy didn't want his cousins to fight again, he didn't want his father angry again. And he didn't want to upset the gigantic girl that sat before him, and he still wasn't sure if he could trust her, she seemed nice, but everyone could be different when scared, angry or worried, and he didn't know how she would act if he fainted. Would she leave him abandoned? Would she freak out and hide him? Would she pick him up and carry him to safety? There were bugs out here, so if she left him, he could wake up with bug bites! He didn't like bug bites! What if he was allergic to the bug? He could didie! That would bbe horrible.

Andy's train of thought was not one that he should to dwelling on, it was making his health status much worse, it was not calming down his heart, it waswas not helping him focus on his breathing. It was draining all the blood from his face, his eyes were growing heavy, his limbs were growing limp anand seemed to weight a hundred tons. It was horrible. He couldn't hold out much longer, the cold air that was blowing in from the lake was bad, the bugs there were making noises were starting to scare him more, the gigantic girl kept moving, he could hehere his own heartbate in his ears. He could see, what he thought to be, monsters behind the bushes. This had to be the scariest place on Earth, he was never to return here. He wasn't sure way happened after Madlyn spoke, because before he could manage to say anything, he fell to the floor. He fainted. Again.

Andy took long to react, very long. she was counting in her head in fact to see how long it will take before he freaked out. She was hitting two minutes, he was still breathing. Impressive, Andy was still alive after two minutes have passed. Three minutes, that's when she looked away. Her view; the ocean horizon. She could make out the clear body of water from here, she's always had perfect eye sight for such things when it came to staring. Four minutes, she turn back around to him to give him somewhat a smile and when she said Andy, Andy, Andy, that's when he stiffen. Still he was awake, she had long stop touching his arms with her long fingers, her imprints were already gone by then. Surly he would live to see another day. She had this strong feeling he would and that he would be okay once she left. Everything will be alright.

She was wrong. Five minutes, he was down. He was down and pale as a ghost. Poor Andy, he was gone before she left. the first thing she did was stared at him wide eyed, "Andy?!Andy...Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy" inside she was saying, poop, poop, poop. "Andy, come on please you're freaking me out here" then she started to panicking, and she started to feel her heart race and she felt her hands start to sweat for causing him to faint. "Oh my gawd! I think I've killed Andy!" she blurted out because she was nervous but she doubt he was dead, still he fainted because she touched him and forced him to bare with her. This really was not her day, she shook herself out of the nerves and did what only one as big as her would do, she stood up and gently, carefully picked Andy into her arms. She cradle his head an one arm and had the rest of him in the other, both arms connected underneath. "Andy get up, this is all my fault!" he was light in arms, so fragile, Madlyn headed for the school to get immediate help.
