Closed Nightly Patrol

Leda was still sour that she had been paired up with Fleur instead of Mervyn for her patrols. Why did she have to be with this girl instead of her best friend? The first semester hadn’t been too bad, but the Slytherin was still unsure. She waited outside the Ancient Runes class for her patrol partner to arrive, given they’d been assigned the sixth floor that afternoon to make sure students were headed off to bed and not lurking around as the evening turned to night. Leda would have quite liked to go to sleep herself too given they both had upcoming Quidditch games and OWLs to study for, but she supposed she was one of the best people for the job of telling the younger students off too. So far she’d only managed to get into one argument with a first year at the beginning of the year, but she wouldn’t hesitate to do so again if needed.​

Fleur had noticed some of the prefects took their duties way seriously, but she herself sometimes still forgot she was a prefect at all. She didn't really mind the extra duties that came with it, but didn't take a lot of pride in them either. Patrols were okay, but she had the feeling her patrol partner hadn't quite warmed up to her yet. Leda was someone who Fleur thought was pretty cool, and she rather liked being paired up with another girl with red hair. She hoped the girl hadn't been waiting long when she arrived a few minutes late. "Oh, hey, sorry." She said with a grin. "Ready for patrol?"
