Corey loved being in the outdoors, he had never been one to sit still for a long period of time and preferred to be active throughout the day. It also didn't help that he was quite used to the buzz of having younger kids around since he grew up with four younger siblings. He was used to playing with them in and out of the house and now that he was a first year in school, it was quite weird, considering that he did not have many to actually invite to play with him. Especially on such a nice day such as today. The Hufflepuff had gone out to play with his soccer ball by the lake and so dressed warmly for the day, in a shirt and knee length shorts along with sneakers. Getting to the lake, and doing some soccer stunts, he began to think that maybe he should have invited Jai and the twins so they could at least have a game. But hindsight is 20/20. Corey figured that someone would come soon enough and maybe he could invite them to play or something.

September was still pretty chilly in New Zealand, but a warm day meant Amari was outside, soaking up the sun. She was happy that the school wasn't located in the South Island, where she was sure it would be a lot colder, and even the sun wouldn't have kept her warm. But that wasn't even something that she was thinking about, as she headed towards her spot, putting her sunglasses on to protect her eyes. She was wearing shorts, and a tank top, hoping to get a nice tan. It would be great to have a tan before summer even started, something that she was usually used to. Coming closer to the spot she wanted, the Gryffindor girl noticed a familiar face kicking around a soccer ball. Her shoulders dropped as she got close, and she took her sunglasses off, looking at the boy. "Oh...were you going to play here?" Not anymore you're not.

Corey looked up, taking away his attention from the ball at his feet, to see a girl - probably near if not his age - approach. The Hufflepuff grinned and nodded, as he kicked the ball a little more before picking it up and holding it between his hips and underneath his arm. "Yep, name's Corey," he said as he introduced himself. He had quite the tendency to forget introductions sometimes after all so it was better to get it out of the way early on. "Wanna join in?" he asked with a grin. Well, he definitely wasn't expecting to encounter anyone so soon, but hey, playing ball was more fun with more people, and since the Jai, Artemisa and Felicita or any other of his friends weren't out yet, it was definitely going to be easier to play with this new girl right here. No better time to make new friends than the present after all!

Amari forced a smile when the boy introduced himself, including the fact that 'yep', he was going to be playing there. He didn't even offer to move! How rude, what an inconsiderate person. "Amari Kent." She replied, proud of her name. He offered her to join in on playing with him and she raised an eyebrow, wondering what made him think she would want to play with a ball? Amari shook her head. "No...well I was hoping I'd be able to sit here. Would you be able to move? Or - did you want to sit here with me?" Amari asked, as she placed her blanket on the grass, showing that she was going to stay.

Corey grinned at the girl named Amari. She seemed nice enough though it was kind of a shame that she didn't want to play ball on such a nice day. He didn't mind though since everyone had their own interest and they didn't share his then that was fine with him too. "Nice to meet you," he said before looking over at the lawn and the spot she apparently wanted to sit on. She was definitely weird though for telling him where she wanted to sit. It wasn't like he owned the lawn. Anybody could sit where they wanted to sit. It was also weird that she wanted him to move. How much space was this girl going to need? Yep, definitely weird. Well, the twins weren't this level of weird, or he was just used to their antics by now. He'd probably have to ask his mum if a lot of girls were like this. The boy shrugged though before moving two steps away from the girl - away from the spot she apparently wanted and begun kicking the ball again. "Nah, too nice of a day to spend it sitting down," he said with a grin.

Amari sent a fake smile back at the boy, she definitely knew it was nice for him to meet her, but she wasn't sure if it was the same vice versa. He didn't really seem like someone she would want to be friends with, and though he moved a couple of paces away from her, he didn't join her, or actually completely shove off, so she didn't think she would be able to use him. Amari rolled her eyes, sitting down on her blanket and settling her sunglasses nicely on her face. "Okay then. But don't kick it near me - okay?"

Corey shrugged at the weird girl as she sat down on the blanket. Well, he supposed that other people's concept of spending a nice day outside would be to sit around. That just seemed so boring though but really, he wouldn't judge... much. He really wished that Jai or the twins were around since he'd at least have someone to play with but as it was, there was no one around except for the weird girl. So, Corey continued on to play with his ball, kicking it up in the air with his knees and his feet. It wasn't very long before he got bored of the silence though - not that it was silent all that much with a ball being kicked and bouncing around. "So Amari, what else are you going to be doing today?" he asked since surely she wasn't planning to just sit around all day. Was she? Well, if she was then that would be really weird and he'd have to ask his okaa-san if that was normal, because neither Misa nor Feli nor any of his sisters spend the day just on the ground sitting down. Therefore, this girl must be the weirdo.
