Mounting her broom, Lucy pushed off from the ground, and hovered a few feet in the air for the moment. She'd had a little bit of Quidditch practice, but not this year. She and Violet had been practicing at the end of last year - Lucy had played chaser, giving Violet more practice at being keeper for the games. And now she had Violet's old Firebolt, which was much better than all the school brooms. Although if she made the Quidditch team, Lucy would probably have to get a new broom over the holidays. One that was a little faster and better quality.
It was odd, that Lucy so liked Quidditch, when she had arrived here hating magic and hating having to be a part of it. Now here she was, a second year, all excited to try out for a spot in the Quidditch team. She didn't think she'd actually get a spot, of course, but perhaps she'd get to be an alternate, and maybe even play in a game! That would be exciting. She couldn't wait to tell Landon that she'd put her name down. And Violet, for that matter, because she'd know what a big deal it was for the extremely shy Lucy, who wouldn't do anything involving other people unless she was forced to, joining a team of her own free will. But she wanted to find Landon and talk to him. Something about him, Lucy couldn't quite explain what it was, but she had the oddest feeling whenever she was around him. She couldn't make sense of it at all, and that annoyed her to no end. It was something that seemed to make her heart beat faster, but she just didn't understand it at all. Shaking her head and pushing those thoughts out of her mind, Lucy ascended to the sky, stopping when she reached the highest hoop. Then she began to fly around the ground, her long blonde hair whipping about in the breeze.
