Amelia walked out of the cold and depressing Slytherin Common room. She really did not like the color of her houses common room.It was so dark and dreary. It dampened the mood of the room that was supposed to be the hub of the house. To be honest Amelia didn't like her house, some of the people were such bullies and annoying.Amelia was not happy with Hogwarts. Her brothers had had such high views of the place.Amelia had expected so much and she was very disappointed. It was mostly the people that bothered her.She had stuck her nose into something and now she was stuck being a pawn in Epiphany and Luthor's games though she hadn't seen either of them in a while. It had been nice to go home and be around loving family because she certainly wasn't feeling the love here. She hadn't made any friends at all and she spent most of her days wandering with no real purpose. She had been taking some comfort in photography. Her brother Cory had bought her a proper camera and she was having fun going around the school and taking people unawares.Outside was a great place for photographs. It was so alive out in the grounds and she had some beautiful pictures.

That was what she was planning on doing at the moment. She decided to skip breakfast and head straight out to the Gardens. It was best in the morning because students hadn't come and interrupted the dozy animals and plants. It was a nice morning and the grass was still wet from the due.The grounds were quiet as it was early in the morning. It was going to be a warm day as Amelia could already feel the heat of the sun.She took out her camera and got it set up so she wouldn't be fumbling when the time came for a picture. She walked around the Great Lawn, she ventured up to the Cliffs were she took some pictures of the waves crashing into the headland. There were some lovely plants near the rosebush that she had also taken a few photos of.Finally after nearly an hour she sat down on the grass and began looking through all her pictures

It was a fine morning for the young Hufflepuff, Conan Edogawa. It was still the Holidays so he had much free time to spend. In fact, too much free time, since he woke up a bit earlier than expected. The young Hufflepuff had took a quick shower and dressed up casually, wearing his necklace, given to him by a friend of his. He took a small bag from his stuff and packed two Sherlock Holmes books in them. He would probably read once he gets bored. And with a quick glance at his room, he took his soccer ball and headed out of the dormitories and Hufflepuff Common Room.

Somehow, he ended up in the Lakefront, the place wherein he met a friend and played soccer with him. It was a fun memory, actually. The young boy started playing soccer by himself kicking the ball around by himself. It was an exercise and way to practice for him. He would probably play with his friends when he goes back to Japan. An hour has passed and the boy was tired. Conan looked for a place to sit, and hopefully someone to sit with. But unfortunately, it was still early and no one has been in the Lakefront yet. Until he saw a girl, he assumed to be the same age as him. He approached her quietly and said, "Hi. Would you mind me sitting beside you?" he asked in a kind manner. He was one to approach someone casually, and he hoped the girl would accept that approach as he waited for an answer.

Amelia was very happy with her photos. Some from the cliff were beautiful and she couldn't wait to print them out when she went home.Photography had helped the first term of the year not be so bad.She enjoyed walking around the grounds and taking pictures.Sometime she would go around the school and take a picture of someone with an interesting face or maybe something that she would think would look interesting as a photo.Amelia had really discovered her creative side. She had always been in to sports.Gymnastics and athletics had been her two favorite pastimes before entering Hogwarts.Because of that she had a very athletic figure and she was very flexible. She had practiced her gymnastics but then her parents had sent her a camera and she had become obsessed with taking photos. She found it was a beautiful was to capture nature at it's best

She looked at when someone asked her a question. She knew him from around school though no name came to mind when she saw him.She didn't particularly mind him sitting beside her.He had a football in his hand,he obviously liked the game.Since Amelia had grown up in the muggle world even though her father was a wizard she knew how to play soccer. She quite liked the sport and she had played it in school "Sure"She said a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She hadn't talked to much people in her year. Not many people seemed to like Slytherins and most of the hard core Slytherins didn't think she was worthy for the house because she wasn't mean. "You play football?"She asked pointing at the football

Conan couldn't help but observe the girl. She was quite familiar, yet he didn't know her name. It was weird, though, because Conan never forgets a face together with the name. It must mean that she haven't properly met the girl yet. It made sense. He never forgot a criminal he faced nor a police nor a schoolmate in Japan. But he would forget a single girl in Hogwarts when he hadn't met so many of them. When the girl had allowed him to sit beside her, Conan couldn't help but put on a smile. "Arigato (Thank you). I mean. Thank you," he said. He was used to speaking Japanese and he barely had control over it. And that made him a bit embarrassed.

"I'm Conan by the way. Conan Edogawa. First Year, Hufflepuff," he said bowing his head slightly in a polite manner. This was the usual way he introduced himself. And it was far from changing. The young boy had almost took his seat before hearing the girl's question and noticing her pointing at his soccer ball. "If you mean Soccer, yes I do. Do you play it too?" he asked before finally taking his seat. He didn't care that much if the girl played sports or not. He was not one to judge people that way. After all, the girl seemed to be nice, and Conan hoped it was true.

Amelia had always been confident about who she was.She had never had any doubts about that.In primary school she had had quite a lot of friends and she had gotten on with everybody. She had been in trouble a few times for getting into fights but the only reason she was in fights because one of her younger siblings had been hurt or bullied.Amelia would not tolerate any of her younger siblings getting hurt. She had practically raised some of them as he mother hadn't been able to deal with all of them and work her father included.Amelia hadn't minded, she loved her family with all her heart and she didn't know what she would do if any harm came to them. One thing would be she would hunt every corner of the earth to find who harmed them because Amelia had vowed she would avenge her family if she ever had to and Amelia was not one to back out of promises.

Amelia was momentarily confused by the use of another language. But it was soon cleared up "You welcome"She said her smile bigger this time. She sensed no threat from the young classmate. She had learned to be wary of who ever you meet because they could get you in a lot of trouble.Plus if you are known friends of Epiphany and Luthor you don't know who's attention you will have. "I'm Amelia Jane, first year Slytherin"She said smiling and almost grinning with he bowed. That was cute and she wondered where he was from. She hoped he didn't make assumptions because of her house. She never judged people because of their house, she gave them a chance to prove they weren't defined by their house. Football was the same as soccer but people obviously learnt it differently. It didn't matter though. "I played it in school, though I haven't in a long time"She said looking at the ball.

Conan was still a bit tired. Definitely tired. He had been playing soccer for an hour and it was really tiring. But it was his own form of exercise, which he could hardly do when there was classes. And he was grateful that it was still the Holidays. Meeting this girl was nice, and Conan hope they would be friends. When the girl replied to his thanks, Conan said, "Sorry for speaking Japanese. You were confused weren't you? Sorry, I do that unconsciously," he said quite a shy tone showing in his voice. He mostly speaks with Japanese students and they didn't have a problem with it. But, this time, the girl looked nothing Asian and she must not know any Japanese, which made Conan embarrassed with his action.

The young girl had also introduced herself as Amelia Jane. She was a first year as well, and a Slytherin too. Conan didn't flinch when he knew Amelia was a Slytherin. He never met a Slytherin before and he was willing to give them a chance. After all, he shouldn't judge someone he doesn't know, right? "Amelia. So, we have an intelligent beauty here," he said complimenting the Slytherin. She was indeed beautiful and from what Conan knew Slytherins were intelligent and smart. He was not judging the girl's attitude. He wouldn't dare do it, not without giving her a chance. Noticing Amelia looking at his ball, Conan stood up and held out his hand, "Want to play with me? A bit of football or soccer, maybe?" he said looking at the girl in the eyes, inviting her to play.

Amelia was very athletic. She loved every kind of sport and she basically just enjoyed staying fit.She had always been the one to motivate her family at home. She would often drag her older brother Cory from his bed at around six or seven am to have a nice, brisk walk before she had to get ready for school. She felt a walk nice and early in the morning would help walk her up and make her feel more refreshed for the rest of the day.She also ate a balanced diet. She ate sweets and chocolate but she did in moderation and she mostly preferred fruit and cereal snakes like granola bars. She just felt much better when she had eaten healthier and done some exercise.Once you got into a routine it was quite enjoyable and much better for you. "Don't worry about it"She said a small smile lighting up her face.It almost felt weird smiling-she hadn't done one in a long while.Maybe she should try and meet some more Hufflepuffs.

Amelia was glad to see no change in his features when she said what house she was in.He didn't seem to judge by houses which was a relief. To be honest Amelia wasn't even sure why she was in Slytherin. She wasn't cunning, dull and she wasn't stuck up like some people in her house. There were one or two other people like her who didn't seem to fit in with the more traditional Slytherins. She didn't get the whole dividing into houses thing either. It seemed to cause a lot of prejudiced views on people which a lot of the time were new.You weren't defined by your house. You shouldn't let yourself be defined ,you should continue being yourself.Amelia smiled shyly-something she had never done before. The smile quickly disappeared,a look of confusion following. Why was she smiling shyly. That wasn't like her at all. "Thanks"she said just simply smiling normally and deciding not to say anything about what just happened a few moments before hand. "Sure"She said grinning and taking his hand and standing up.

Conan was glad that Amelia didn't mind at all that he suddenly spoke Japanese. Of course, he would never know how others would react. Some might get mad and others confused. But, who could blame them? A young boy suddenly speaking Japanese out of nowhere? Weird. "I really have to fix that habit," he whispered, careful that he won't be heard. Amelia was kind, and Conan could see that right now. He felt like he was lucky, since he never knew if Amelia acted the same way towards others. And with just that thought in mind, the Hufflepuff smiled. Maybe looking like a fool, but at the moment he didn't care.

When the Slytherin had thanked him, probably for the compliment he gave, Conan smiled at her. "I meant what I said," he said as he looked at the clear sky. The sky was beautiful to look at and the feeling was nice. When Amelia held his hand, Conan gently pulled her up until she was completely on her feet. And there, he saw the girl's camera. The young boy removed his bag and placed it on the grassy ground. "Would your camera be alright?" he asked the girl not knowing what her answer will be as he waited for her response.

Amelia wished sometimes that she could speak another language fluently. She had only ever spoken English all her life and she would have really liked to of learned some other language or maybe grown up in a country where they had a national language that they learnt as well as English. She hated the way all she could speak was English. She would love to try a language like French or maybe Chinese or something. She didn't mind as long as she could speak it.Amelia thought she heard Conan say something but she shook her head wondering why she was hearing things. She liked the young Hufflepuff he seemed nice and kind which was a big difference from some of the people she had been meeting. It was like a breath of fresh air, talking to Conan

She followed his gaze up to the sky.It was a beautiful thing the sky.It was actually space but something about the reflection of light and the sun made it appear blue. She preferred the color blue.It was much more beautiful and even though Amelia loved the starry night ,nothing could beat the baby blue sky with puffs of white. When she was standing she brushed any piece of grass off her.She looked down at her camera when Conan pointed it out. "Could I put it in your bag?"She asked holding the camera in her hand

Conan was glad that the weather was on their side. It was sunny and a only a number of clouds roamed the sky to keep the weather cool and not to hot. It was a wonderful time to play soccer with a friend, and Amelia seemed to be a good opponent. She seemed to be sporty and likes sports. Now, he would have the chance to play a friendly game with her. "Sure. No problem," he said as he picked up his bad again and helped the Slytherin put her camera into his bag. "Let's leave it here where we can easily see it," he said as he gently put down his bag.

He kicked his ball upwards with his knees before he threw the ball to Amelia's direction at a speed where she could catch it easily. "So, yeah. Where are our goal points? Cause I don't want to play another game where I hadn't planned out where the goals are," he said with a little smile shown on his face as he remembered the last time he played soccer by the lake with a friend. They had played and played until they both realized that they hadn't planned out where the goal was all along. "You get first pick," he said with a smile as he waited for the girl's decision.

Amelia had always loved the New Zealand weather. The sun shinned most days and she didn't mind the rain as long as it didn't stay for too long. She had never been anywhere but New Zealand, with such a big family it was impossible to go anywhere together. It was usually just stressful when they tried to go anywhere so they usually stayed at home.It would sometimes drive her up the wall being stuck in a house with four younger siblings and it was even more annoying when her three older brothers were there because they liked to tease her constantly. The only sibling she really liked was Alice because she was so sweet and lovely. "Thank you"She said smiling.

Amelia caught the ball thrown to her.She hadn't played soccer in a while and she was glad she had her converse and jeans on as it would be much easier to play.Amelia looked around the Lakfront. There wasn't much places to make two goal posts but she saw two bushes. She walked over and stood in between them "My goal"She said grinning "Your turn"She said doing one or two keepy upes as she waited

Conan thought the Amelia had a beautiful smile and he was glad that she was showing it to him. After all, he was just some random guys who decided to approach her and make such a random request then randomly ask her to play a game. But, at least she was happy, right. "You're welcome," he told her with a smile as he tried to think about various things, specifically about Amelia. He wondered for a bit if he would get the chance to know her more. One way or another he wanted to know Amelia better without having to snoop around or force her.

Conan watched as Amelia had caught the ball and looked around the Lakefront. He couldn't blame her, it was hard to pick a goal since it was an almost open field. But, luckily Amelia found her goal. Conan looked at his surroundings and found two trees planted a bit close together. "Alright. Yours are bushes, mine are trees," he said smiling at the girl waiting for her to make her first move.

Amelia found herself quite enjoying Conan's company. She almost felt..giddy and totally unlike herself. It was most unusual and a bit worrying. She was acting almost shy and bashful which certainly wasn't on the usual list of Amelia's characteristics.Amelia found herself continuely looking at his eyes which she thought were beautiful.Amelia quickly glanced away, pretending to look at a very interesting flower beside her.Even though Amelia had a tough exterior, her insides were soft and squishy.Plus she had never really thought a boy was cute before and it was a whole new ball game for her,it made her feel slightly uncomfortable but she made sure it didn't show.

Amelia watched as he picked his goals. They were more or less opposite hers. She hoped he played the same way as she was.She didn't know if soccer rules wee universal or if different countries had different rules. "Shouldn't we sort out some rules first or any at all?"She asked the ball being thrown from hand to hand. She didn't mind if there were no rules, sometimes those games could be even more fun. When the whole family attempted to play there was usually no rules and they mostly ended up having a lot of fun

Conan liked spending time with Amelia. It may have seemed weird considering that they just met less than half an hour ago. But, who cares? They're free to feel how they feel. He kept looking at her, waiting excitedly at the next thing she would do. He always kept an eye on her and cannot avoid looking at her direction. It was the first time for the young boy and he wondered on what it could be about. It was a feeling that the boy liked and he hoped that it would last longer.

Conan thought about Amelia's question. He wasn't sure if Amelia played the same way they were doing in Japan. And Conan didn't set any rules when he was playing with Ryuuji, so he was quite in a pinch at the moment. He thought about the answer a lot and he could only come up with only one solution. "Would you like free play? No rules?" he asked Amelia. He couldn't be thinking about this without having Amelia's consent or opinion. It would be just plain rude to decide by himself without asking the other side. He waited for the girl's answer, quite curious on what it would be.

Amelia had never been interested in the opposite sex.She had often been too busy taking care of her younger siblings or playing sport or studying. She had never even thought of having any sort of a relationship other then friends with boys. They had been annoying in Amelia's school anyway.Always messing around and purposely annoying her, knowing they would get a reaction.Amelia hadn't been one to mess around with, she had almost got herself a reputation in the school.People weren't exactly afraid of her but they knew not to mess with her.She no longer had that in Hogwarts. She was a joke in her house because she wasn't like most of them.Amelia sighed and focused back on the cute boy called Conan.

Amelia watched Conan as he thought about her suggestion. He seemed like the sort of person who respected people, trusted them and never judged. She could see why the Hat had put him in Hufflepuff. If only it were as easy for her.Truthfully she had no idea why she was sorted into Slytherin, she would like to go back to the hat and ask him.She knew she couldn't change but maybe if she knew why she was put in Slytherin,it might help her find who she was. Amelia grinned "You asked for it"She said before rolling the ball on the ground, making sure to keep it in control.

While waiting for Amelia to make the first move, he kept on thinking about her. He couldn't take his mind nor his eyes off of her. He thought seriously about the reason for this. It took him a while to figure it out, what he thought of the girl. He thinks that Amelia was beautiful and that he was interested in her. "No way," he thought to himself. This was the first time the boy had ever liked someone. He was always too busy watching over his sister that he never really noticed any girl. But, this time, he was serious.

By the time his thoughts had stopped. Amelia had grinned and started to approach him. "Yeah, I did," he said with a small grin. He wasn't really confident in his skills against the girl, since it was a free play game. And, he didn't know the range of the skills his opponent had. He had started to approach the girl as well, hoping to actually take the ball away from her.

Amelia wondered what it was like to be a boy. They always got to mess around and get dirty and not really worry about their appearance.Amelia sometimes hated being a girl. All the b!tchyness and so on,it was tiring most of the time. Then there was all that pressure to wear make up and look pretty and beautiful and alll that cr@.Sometimes she just thought being a boy would be easier. She wouldn't have to wear dresses or anything like that either. She could just slap on a t-shirt and jeans in the morning.Though Amelia had to admit she did love putting outfits together. It was something she told no one.She blamed her little sister for it as she had tried to get Amelia to be more girly and she had introduced her to making outfits and Amelia had loved it but of course she hadn't admitted it to her sister. She would never hear the end of it.

Amelia had to keep up her tough appearance,it had just become part of her really.Amelia found herself constantly thinking about Conan. She couldn't possibly be interested in him.She was too young but still she found herself thinking about him.Amelia laughed, her laughter ringing out.She didn't laugh much so she was almost unused to it but she found it easy to laugh around Conan,be herself. She started running a bot faster, keeping control of the ball as she did so.She kept her eyes on the ball and looked up at Conan every few minutes, just to check where he was.She was half ways up their make shift pitch when she picked up speed and started running.

Conan continued to watch over the girl named, Amelia. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, and he knew it won't be too long before the said girl would notice it. At least he hoped she wouldn't notice it. It would of course be embarrassing, and he won't know yet on how to explain it to the Slytherin without the result having the possibility of her avoiding the Hufflepuff for the rest of his life. And it was something he didn't want to happen.

The game has started and Amelia had started charging towards him. At first, Conan wasn't really sure if he should go easy on her or go all out on her. But he had decided to do his best, because it would probably upset the Slytherin if he didn't give his best. The young boy charged and started to make attempts at stealing the ball. And he was grateful that one of his attempts succeeded. He ran for Amelia's goal carefully protecting and controlling the ball.

OOCOut of Character:
Sorry.... Wrong character... Forgot to change...

Amelia couldn't help but feel like someone was looking at her.Since there was only one person with her she guessed it was Conan. She wasn't sure why that didn't bother her.Usually she would bite the head off anyone who kept looking at her but for some reason she just felt self-conscience but not really minding it.She self-consciencely fixed a piece of hair. She looked up and caught him looking at her,she quickly looked back down, her cheeks red.She looked away and took a breath "Breath Amelia, breath"She said to herself. She had to stop acting like the blushing girly girl she was acting like. She had to be herself. She when she looked back up she smiled at Conan as if her previous blush had not happened.

Amelia was not going to loose to a boy,she prided herself on being better then them. It's what she did.She loved proving to arrogant boys that she could do the exact same things as them,be even better.Nothing beat seeing the arrogant look fall off their faces when she proved them wrong.Amelia was a proud feminist,it had developed when her brothers would constantly say she couldn't do things because she was a girl when she was younger. It had made her want to prove them wrong, starting her whole feminist attitude.Amelia sighed when the ball was taken from her,she quickly turned around and ran past him,she wasn't going to try and get off him.She ran to her goal and got ready to defend, grinning at him as he made his way up their make do pitch

Conan could barely stop staring at Amelia. He wished his eyes would just follow his brain and stop looking at the girl's direction. Cause, he knew that sooner or later, Amelia would be able to notice him constantly staring at her. It was a pretty scary thought indeed. Not that he was scared of what Amelia would do to him. But, he was scared of how she will react and how she would think of him. He wouldn't want the girl he likes to think badly of him, right? And that is the exact reason on why he didn't want to keep looking at her.

Conan had noticed Amelia's competitive side. She didn't want to lose, and Conan had no plans on giving up early either. He continued to charge forward, controlling the ball as his speed increased a bit. "Yosh. I got one chance with this," he thought as he kicked the ball as hard as he could towards Amelia's goal. Whatever the result may be he was willing to accept. And the game would continue on.
