Stepping into the park as dusk fell across New Zealand, the blonde was pleased to find the park mostly empty. Now that the children were back in school, Athena could tolerate going back to Takarokaro park. She had arrived with an oddly shaped bag that only those who were astronomers would recognize strapped across her back. In it was the custom built telescope that she had received for her graduation present. Astronomy was really the only class that she’d had that had interested her, and it was the only hobby that she continued to enjoy. It had been months since she’d gone out to stargaze, but upon waking up earlier that day, the urge had crept into her, slowly at first but growing as the day wore on. Athena had tried to push the thought away at first, but she had eventually given in. She knew distinctly when she’d last stargazed. It had been just before her breakup. The woman had given her siblings the impression that she didn’t really care about the breakup, but she was sure that they knew better. Readjusting the bag in her hand, some food to snack on, Athena marched forward into the park, stopping at a bench to eat.

Nibbling on her sandwich, Athena watched as life went on around her and people jogged past her. The blonde was naturally slim, a bit too slim since the breakup, and exercising had never crossed her mind. Still, she found it interesting that some people actually enjoyed doing things like running and playing sports. At least, some of those people were cute boys and the woman found herself smiling at the men that she found good looking. It was a fun way to pass the time. Through her periphery, she spotted a couple of the men turn their heads to see if her gaze would follow them. She wasn’t that interested though. Reaching for a notebook that she’d brought with her, Athena began to alternate between taking a bite of her sandwich and setting up her notebook. She still had plenty of time before it would be dark enough to see anything of note, but that was fine with her. At least she would be able to enjoy some peace and quiet in the meantime.

Kialla Smith had been doing everything she could think of to avoid going home. Even after the incident with that halfblood girl, Alliyah Jackson, Kialla had told herself that she still needed to stay in New Zealand. Initially, Kialla had been worried that her Grandmother would send someone after her, but it seemed that she had failed to do so quite yet. Safe in the thoughts that she would not be forced to return any time soon, Kialla decided that she might as well at least try to enjoy the country whilst she was here. She had no where to stay and she was jumping from place to place, but she wasn't sleeping rough and that was good enough for her. She had not spoken to Benjamin as much as she would have preferred to, though she was sure she would be going back home by the end of October. She knew she would definitely have to be back home by December in any case. They didn't celebrate Christmas at home, but her Grandmother would still want her there, most definitely. A sour woman who controlled everyone in the family was troublesome, even for Kialla. She knew Isla was going to be pregnant soon, if she wasn't already, it was literally only a matter of time. Kialla didn't want to be married young, she didn't want to live a life that her Grandmother chose, but she could tell she had little choice, not if she went home. Still, maybe it wouldn't be all bad, except that she would not be able to see Benjamin again. As a married woman her ties to her family would be severed, so to would her tie to her friends. Maybe it as all worth it just to get away from her Grandmother, though she would regret losing her only ties to Ben.

Stepping out into Brightstone, Kialla looked around. She had to find somewhere new to stay now, seeing as she couldn't stay to long in one place. That was just tempting fate really. It was only dusk, though the sky looked beautiful at this time and Kialla found herself admiring the stars. She was not much of an Astronomer, not really, but she knew enough to be familiar with a couple of the constellations. As she looked harder, she was rather surprised that she could see their very own Galaxy. It was quite amazing and very beautiful. Kialla couldn't help but to smile and continued to look up at the sky as she walked. She supposed the fact that the wizarding world had little light pollution really helped in seeing the sky, though the surrounding muggle areas probably still impacted on what they could and couldn't see. Kialla wondered about what they would be able to see with no muggles around, as without muggles there would be no pollution of the skies or even at all. Muggles dumped their rubbish, wizards and witches simply burned it all, or banished it. It was a much better life. This was something Kialla had learned recently, muggles were so destructive. Reaching Takarokaro Park, Kialla looked around for something to do. She supposed she could just hang out there, whilst she was waiting to think of where to go next. As she was walking, something caught her eye, or rather, some one. Athena Zhefarovich. She was about a year or two older then Kialla, but they had been in the same house and Athena was prefect, so everyone knew her and the fact her bestfriend was Kiara Tine, someone she was surprised to see a Zhefarovich associating with. Kialla had to wonder if they were still friends, though she doubted it. "Athena Zhefarovich. Hello." Kialla walked up to her, curious as to what she was doing. "I didn't know you were into Astronomy."

I'm so sorry, this really isn't my best!

Hearing someone mention her by her full name made Athena's head whip in the person's direction. She'd been busy admiring a man as he passed her and had almost considered waving if he happened to glance back. She liked to have fun like that. As she gazed at the young woman before her, it took but a moment to remember the girl's name. They'd been housemates back in school. Kialla Smith. Instantly, a stream of information about the girl flowed into Athena's head. It wasn't much, but the most prominent thought was that she was a pureblood. In the grand scheme of things, it was pretty important.

"There's a lot you don't know about me, Kialla. It's not like we were friends or anything" the blonde stated with a shrug. It was true. They traveled in similar circles outside of school-the pureblood world was a rather small one. Inside of school, they'd shared some mutual friends but their age difference had helped to keep them in social circles that rarely intersected. Using her wand to vanish her garbage, Athena looked to the empty space that she had created. Now that she had gone through the trouble, the young woman had better sit. "It's not dark enough so I have some time to spare. Sit...What have you been up to?" she asked, her silver eyes taking in the young woman's appearance. She looked very much the same as Athena remembered, from what she remembered of her.
