Beckett was in sitting in the library trying to follow Minnie's advice to follow a schedule. He was in his study time and was five minutes away from his social time. The thing was that Emmaline was probably the last person that wanted to see him because of their little competition going on, Oscar was Merlin knows where and Sawyer was hanging with some other people so Beckett was left with no people to talk to during his social time. Great! First day with a schedule and I'm already flaking it, he said to himself.
There was a boy sitting in same table as him, relatively close, but he seemed older and for some reason disturbed or maybe even sad, Beckett couldn't exactly tell. The first year wasn't about to start talking to him out of nowhere, first because he was older and not every olderstudent likes to be disturbed by a younger one, secondly because he seemed disturbed and Beckett sucked at dealing with others emotions and being compassionate, or at least he thought he would suck since he lacked experience on that department.
Beckett closed his book, his five minutes were up. Since he had nothing else to do he just closed his book, it was time to socialise not to study and even though he had no one to socialise he wouldn't give in to the temptation to study. He started looking at the ceiling and all the books in the shelves, trying to keep himself from opening the book that he was using to study, this was harder than he expected it to be.

The holidays had been rough for Chase which had put him in a less than positive mood during the first few weeks of the new school year, as such he found himself retreating to the library doing homework and getting a head start on studying, if he wasn't going to be miserable he might as well be productive in his misery and spend it studying. He was joined at his table by a young looking boy, first year maybe who seemed to want to do anything other than read his book. His inability to sit still proved to be very distracting for Chase who sat back in his chair and sighed. "If you aren't studying what are you doing here?" He asked.

Beckett stopped looking at the ceiling and gazed the other boy, how dared he talking to him like that! He was studying! If it wasn't for his stupid break and schedule he wouldn't be staring at the ceiling but the other boy was totally unaware of that so Beckett took a deep breath, not very loudly, and answered "Well, someone advised me to follow a schedule to balance social and studying time." he said making slide a piece of paper through the table so the other boy could have a look at it "It's my first day following that and technically I should have a "social break" now but I don't really have anyone to talk to but you and you are clearly busy being a..." he said struggling with giving the boy a compliment "Studying" he ended up saying. His lack of social interactions was showing, he could barely keep a conversation from being awkward.
