Daniella missed swimming and she couldn't help but sigh as the view outside remained to be dead trees. She knew they weren't really dead. Spring just hasn't come into full bloom yet and she was missing it sorely. Winter had just about ended and the snow covering the grounds had already disappeared. The air wasn't as bitingly cold as it had been in the past weeks before classes had begun, but it wasn't really enough to be considered warm yet. Well, not warm enough for a swim anyways. The young Gryffindor sighed as she stood in front of the lake longingly. It really was too bad that the castle did not have a pool that she could swim in, especially since the lake was still too cold since it looked like the ice had just melted not too long ago. Dani settled for sitting down by the lake and watching the afternoon pass by in relative quiet. It really was a shame that the water was still cold.

One of the things that Chloe missed from home was the weather, the all-year round summer. She wrapped her scarf around her, although it wasn't as chilly as other days, it was still a bit cold, something she had to get used to. Sometimes, the girl didn't mind it, she enjoyed the view that this place had to offer and she wouldn't trade it for anything. Other times, she got homesick. Even though her mother never really told her about what was happening to her when she had those 'magical accidents' as a toddler, she missed her a lot. Her mom wasn't moving to New Zealand just yet. The first year kept walking, until she reached the lake, where another girl was sitting. She hesitated, debating whether to sit next to her or not, but she had to start making friends. She slowly walked over to her and sat down. After a few moments, she turned to the other girl. She didn't recognise her. "It's so pretty, isn't it?"

Daniella was surprised when a girl had suddenly sat by her. It was quickly becoming the norm these days, people approaching people and slowly but surely getting to know each of them. Figuring out how they were similar to her or different from her. It was good to know, she supposed, that a lot of people were comfortable with just approaching others to try and get to know them - to try and make friends. Or maybe they weren't comfortable and were just taking a leap of faith. After all this girl beside her seemed to be a little hesitant and afraid - just like she was. Dani smiled and nodded, "It is. I wish it wasn't so cold though," she said rather glumly. "It would be nice to swim only the weather were warmer," she said with a small smile. "Daniella," she said simply as a way of introducing herself to the girl that had sat by her.
