Nathanial was in Gryffindor, the noble red house. He was not an expert on the houses here, as he had neglected to ask Speed, or his mother about them. But now, he was here to figure it all out by himself and by Merlin was he ready to go through this place like a tornado. He was separated from his sister, Emily, and, to be quite frank, it was a blessing. She was a tattletail, and was always telling him what to do. Now, he had a little bit of freedom. And freedom was nice. Emily and him just didn't have the same interests. He still remembered when she tattled to Dad about the flobberworm he put on the counter, and she also told their father how he had a collection of crickets in a bucket in the bathroom. She was the worst, and now she wasn't his problem. It was such a bonus to the young boy.

Wearing his Gryffindor robes and a small smile on his face, Nathanial walked as the chilly wind blew through his long, fluffy hair. He was heading towards the Rosebush, because he liked flowers (though he would take such affections to his grave). The newly sorted Gryffindor stood before the flowers and gave them some of his time. He was going to explore everything and see everything, so he may as we'll start with the pleasant stuff, and then work on the not as pleasant stuff, like the forest. He had his eyes on the forest. The only problem was the professors. They patrolled through there. He shrugged his shoulders at the thought and continued to look around the trees. It was starting to get a little bit boring, to be honest, and he sighed. He needed someone to talk to, otherwise he may as well just nap all the time.

Fixing his tie, Nathanial ducked under some lower hanging branches, and smiled when he thought he may have seen a snowy owl, and recognised it as his own. "Oh!" He began to chase the creature, who stuck to tree branches, doing something that had to be a mix between hopping and running, but not quite flying. The Gryffindor had neglected to lock the cage, and now Clarence was out - again. "Come on Clarence!" He called, holding out his arm. Clarence stared wide-eyed at him, and hooted, before scrambling off again. "Clarence!" That was it. Nathanial looked at the tree beside him, trying to measure it up. It would be a bit tricky to climb without some help, but he tried anyway. Unfortunately, he managed to wedge himself between the trunk and a branch. He attempted to wiggle and kick his way out, but he was stuck. "Awe man..." Now what was he going to do?

Bellamy was taking a walk, she really needed the fresh air. After living at her summer cottage for six weeks everything seemed a bit stuffy, and the smell of flowers usually did the trick. Her hair was down today, and she tugged at the bright green Slytherin robes she received. Bellamy stops to pull her scarf out of her back, a sudden gust of wind blowing. Back home the autumn time wasn't very warm, so she expected this type of weather.

The Rosebush was gorgeous, the flowers overwhelmingly beautiful. Colours beyond imagination. She noted the bees and wasps, not her favorite of critters, but she tried to not pay any attention to them. Bellamy heard the sound of running and maybe a hint of frustration. She stood up and jogged around the corner. A Gryffindor boy, first year, was chasing a beautiful owl, a snowy owl, she thought to herself. She walked over "Hi, I'm Bellamy. Do you need any help with your owl?" she then realized she didn't know how she could help if he did accept. He seemed friendly, and a bit flustered.

Nathaniel was exploring the grounds. this was a beautiful place. His dad had told him a lot about hogwarts, but he didn´t expect it to be that beautiful. There was lots to explore for the new sorted Gryffindor.
He was interested in finding out everything, also in finding the secret passaways his dad told him about.
The young lion decided to start with the grounds, before spendig his spare time to explore the floors in the castle. Nathaniel had heard a lot about that forest. And he wished he could explore it. The boy was so nosy finding out what lived in there.
But this day he had visited the lake and the fields. His steps brought him to the rosebush where he stopped. They had one at home. He liked the smell of it.
As he looked around he could see he wasn´t alone. A boy was hanging between the branches and a Slytherin girl was asking if he needed help. He walked towards them, his arms crossing in front of him, he smiled and said with a giggle. "Man what are YOU doing up there? Need any help to climb down?" Nathaniel recognized the boy from the sortig ceremony. They were sorted into the same house. He wondered if they could become friends.

<SIZE size="50">Nathanial blew a piece of hair from his face, and cocked his head upwards to glare at his owl. They weren't even supposed to be active in the daytime, right? That was what he was told. Clarence looked pretty perky right now. His ribs hurt now, as well. He once again tried to release himself, but it just was not working. All the Gryffindor could hope for now was someone coming along and helping him out. If it was a professor, he only hoped that it was Speed and not his mother. In fact, anyone would be better than his mother right now. He did not want to speak with that woman. Just thinking about her made him mad. He was going to have to make sure he closed Clarence's cage in future, or maybe check to make sure it isn't broken or something, because he was positive that he closed it this time. Maybe.

The first year looked up when some girl came along and found him. It was not exactly the rescue party he had hoped for, but it was better than his very own mother. "Well, I'd actually like help with myself, first," he replied, still dangling in the tree. Nathanial rolled his eyes when another person wandered along. A boy, a Gryffindor, and someone that saw some comedy in this. Nathanial had to admit, if he were in the shoes of the Slytherin or other Gryffindor, he would be laughing too hard to ask if he needed help. He tried one last time to release himself, but it was not working. He looked at the Slytherin and Gryffindor with an awkward smile, since he hated having to ask for help. "I'd really like help. I'm Nathanial." He knew Bellamy's name, but nothing of the Gryffindor boy, so he looked at him, expecting a response.
