Meeting the Family: Part 1

Patricia couldn't be happier to be back in New Zealand, even if it was only for a short while. The holidays had started and all worries of school were behind her, for now, and she was just ready to blow off some steam before starting her 5th year at Hogwarts New Zealand. As she walked through the streets of New Zealand she watched as all of the new first years made their way from shop to shop for their new school supplies. Was I ever that small? she wondered to herself with a small shake of her head. The past few years had been somewhat of a blur and despite the somewhat rollcoaster of emotions that her fourth year was she was excited to start her 5th year. She was nervous about it, of course, with a few more responsibilites added to her regular schedule she knew it was going to be hard but she was up for the challenge.

Pulling her blue coat around her a bit more as a cool breeze swept over her. She never stopped being amazed by the fact that while it was winter in New Zealand, it was Summer back home - yet New Zealand was warmer. The soon-to-be 5th year Hufflepuff, stopped in her tracks as she realised where she was. Turning to lean against the wall she checked her watch and saw that her father would be arriving soon to take her to his house. Patricia was actually looking forward to this meeting, she was still a bit sore about her Professor being her dad but she wasn't going to let that bother her too much. No, she would be visiting Niccy and her new little brother and even though it was weird that her friend had a child with her dad she was still excited to see the newest addition to her family - something that was happening a lot lately. As she waited she absent-mindedly fiddled with the charm on her necklace which Ruki had given her for her birthday.

Kalif was just a little busy with finalizing the grades, and when Kaleb entered the office, Kalif knew that he was going to be a little later than usual. Sighing, he finished everything, he sent the grades to the castle, and he gathered his things that he would need to go home for the break. Patricia seems to be attached to her new step-mother and Kalif had no issue with her coming to the Styx Manor to stay. Though he would prefer muggles to stay out of it though. Kalif started to walk with his son down to Brightstone to meet with Patricia. Once they had arrived, he stood behind her and he muttered, "Ready?" Kalif folded his arms across his chest, and he said nothing more.

Patricia jumped a little when she heard the familiar cold voice of her father behind her, Why does he do that? she thought angrily as she she turned round to face him. Despite his cold demeanour Patricia was trying not to let him ruin her life anymore. Smiling she nodded her head and lifted her overnight bag, "Hello to you too." she said as she lifted her overnight bag. "OK I'm ready!" she said as she lifted her arm and waited for the awkward sensation that came with apparation.

Kalif put his hand on her shoulder, same as Kaleb. He sighed and he apparated the two of them to the Styx Manor. With that, he turned and went back to his office in his home, and shut the door behind him. Kalif needed some alone time, and if he didn't get to relax and read, then someone would be killed.
