It was a strange time for the Gryffindor prefect. He had not seen his girlfriend in a little while, and it felt odd, because he wasn't sure where they stood. No one had ever known about his girlfriend, so it was simpler on that side, but as much as he was sure that he loved her, it was difficult to say when he didn't see her at all, and when he couldn't express it openly. That being said, the boy didn't even have his best friend, he was without both of those people, so while he was happy, he was feeling great. All his classes had been going well. He was in charge of his little club, and he was on the quidditch team. He had many good friends, and yet it didn't seem like it was actually enough for him. It wasn't enough for him, which felt sort of ridiculous, because he had almost quite literally everything he could want, but there was a limbo he was in that didn't really help. Putting these things to the side, the boy knew he couldn't bring those issues with him while he was dealing with the prefect duties that he had. It wasn't fair on his patrol partner, who he would say he was actually friends with. Though they hardly spent any time together anymore. Which was a little annoying, but everyone was fairly busy. It would be a good time to catch up and spend time with an old friend. That and Ty was pretty excited for this. He wasn't sure what it would lead to, he was looking forward to seeing if they would actually have to deal with anything that was a big thing. Take house points from people misbehaving. The one thing that the teen was hoping for would be no older students doing anything, and by older he just meant older than him, since he felt that was a little strange. He knew he had the right, but he still didn't think it was his place. It wouldn't maybe help the older person feel less annoyed about being in trouble by someone who was technically younger. Tybalt was nervous about this, but he knew that for the most part it would be fruitless, that they'd just wander down the corridor, and just make sure everything was alright, and no one was really doing anything they shouldn't. That students were in their dorms. Tybalt was reminded all the times he had never been caught sneaking around after curfew, so he was hoping to do better than those, but he was sure that he possibly expecting too much of himself.

Stood in front of the mirror, the boy put the final touches on his looking. Switching his contacts for his glasses. He knew that if something went wrong glasses weren't the most practical thing, but he didn't mind. He liked his glasses, and considering what he'd be doing it was a better thing to have them. The teen was dressed smartly enough in his school uniform, more smartly that he would be if he was going to class. His shirt for one, was actually tucked in, and his tie was slightly higher than normally. The final touch was placing the prefect badge on his chest and headed to the sixth floor, where they would starting the patrol. He got there a little head of time, and just sat himself on the steps, waiting for Kelsey. Who he was looking forward to doing this with. He had always enjoyed the enthusiasm that she generally had. It would be good to just spend some time with a friend, and do something that would be fairly mundane. Well, he was sure that they were both just hoping that it would just be a mundane night. Ty wouldn't mind any excitement, he just hoped there really wouldn't be any. Rather an easy first shot at this, to test the water and get used to the task. Having to deal with something major would not be fun. Well, that might just depend on what that would include. Happily the boy just sat waiting. He was glad for the night off from studying, which had pretty much taken over his life completely. It was OWL year, but this was still early on, and he hadn't been able to do much. This would be good! Ty was sure of it.

This is not a great start, other posts will be better, I promise!

Kelsey yawned as she looked in the mirror. She had been studying so much lately and trying to find time to write to Kieran, that she was having a hard time sleeping. Lately she was pretty much only living on about five hours sleep, but it wasn't really too bad, it could have been less she supposed. In the mirror, Kelsey noted that her hair was a little longer then it was at the start of the year. He hair grew really slowly though, so it would take her forever to grow her hair out again, but she wasn't really all that worried about it to be perfectly honest. Her hair was the last of her worries at the moment though. She sighed into the mirror and fixed her hair with a headband. She was wearing her robes really nicely today. Her hair was neat, to hide the fact that she was tired, probably, though she wasn't actually sure about how good of a job it was doing. Pinning her badge to her chest, Kelsey was proud of her appearance, ignoring the bags under her eyes of course. She yawned again and ran her fingers through the ends of her hair. She was going to be meeting up with Tybalt for their patrol. Kelsey was definitely glad that she had Tybalt for a partner, after all they already knew each other and were good friends, so it was not like they were going to be all awkward. She had heard that two of the prefects that were partnered did not like each other. That must be unfortunate, she couldn't imagine not liking someone or then having to patrol with them. It was rather sad.

Making the finishing touches on her hair, and the rest of her appearance, Kelsey was about to leave when she suddenly heard the chirping of her owl. She smiled, it was obviously a letter from her brother, but she was already late, so she was going to have to wait until later to read it. Pocketing the letter, Kelsey quickly ran out of the room and along the corridor and up the stairs. She wasn't paying attention however and ran right past Tybalt. She stopped when she realised and turned around laughing slightly and rubbing her eyes. Worst day ever. She smiled warmly at Tybalt and joined him on the stairs. "Sorry, I am really out of it right now." She told him yawning slightly. She looked around the corridor. "Did you want to start now or give it a couple of minutes. I mean, I really don't mind waiting." She told him, leaning against the staircase. Why couldn't she have just slept more. This is ridiculous. Kelsey rifled through her pockets. Great, she'd even forgot her jelly babies. What was she going to nibble on now. Damn she missed Kieran.

As Tybalt waited he let himself just enjoy a few moments of calm. He just sort of cleared his mind and thought about nothing. Letting himself relax completely. He didn't many chances to do such a thing, and now just seemed like a good time to do such a thing. He looked up when he heard someone approaching, and was greeted with the sight of Kelsey, who looked a little worse for wear. He smiled warmly at her, about to greet her, when she spoke first. Apologising about not being exactly on time, Ty shrugged it away. "It's more than alright Kelsey! I was happy to wait" He said with a bright smile, really not having been bothered by the fact he had to wait. Tybalt had always been a patient boy with most things, and he could find enjoyment in things that most others would be against. He didn't mind waiting around a few extra minutes. It wasn't like they were being payed or actually being watched, so it didn't matter if they ran a little late. And even at that, Tybalt was sure that as long as it got done, no one would really mind. Tybalt couldn't imagine that the time they took to get themselves ready to go would really mean that some kids would be able get away with what ever schemes they were planning. Tybalt just smiled at Kelsey warmly as she asked if he wanted to start now, or in a few minutes. From what he could tell, Kelsey maybe needed a seat, and while Tybalt was hoping to get started he didn't mind waiting a little bit until being able to just get started. What would another five minutes really mean in terms of things like this. And in any case, this was the first time they'd ever had to do something like this, they could be excused for not quite knowing how all things work. For not being able to be perfect on this first go. He thought it was perhaps the Gryffindor part of him that was more relaxed about these things.

"I don't mind giving it a few minutes if you want to" He said to her brightly, moving slightly on the bit of stair he was sitting on and motioning for her to sit, because to him, she sort of appeared like she needed it. He wondered if he should ask her how she was doing, but it did sort of seem like asking such a thing would be a pointless and silly question. He wasn't sure what else to do otherwise though. "How have you been?" He asked, figuring that was safe ground to start on, since it had been a while since they had seen each other and he wanted to know how both she and her twin were getting along. It had been good fun all of them together in that little club from a couple years back, but as if with most things, it all sort of fell apart when they had gone their slightly separate ways, and had other friends. The only thing that himself and Kelsey really did together now, were classes, competing in quidditch and now this. Which was the best thing to be doing with a friend. He couldn't imagine having to do it with the other Gryffindor prefect in his year. He didn't really know the guy but Tybalt wasn't exactly annoyed about this. It was better that he was doing it with Kelsey over everyone else. "How are you finding OWL preparation?" He asked, as a sort of follow on from the last question that he had asked. it seemed like a good thing to ask, since they were both in fifth year, preparing for OWLs, and that was what Tybalt spent most of his time doing. Between that and quidditch practice, he was kept pretty busy by this school. Which Ty was actually fairly happy about. He liked that. It was good. It didn't leave him as much time as he would want for his club, but Ty was sure it would work out eventually. He was sure he could make it work out with enough work put into it. "They really add the pressure this year."
