Maybe a Mentor

Sapphire knew she needed to be better. That last match had shown her that. She'd been there since before dawn, working on her speed and maneuverability. What was the point of being able to hit the ball if she couldn't catch it?

She wasn't sure if she was making any progress, or if there was any point to this. But she needed to do something. If she was called on again, she would be ready. She was so caught up in herself that she didn't see her teammate enter the field below her.

Antonio was frustrated that despite an open spot he had not been picked as the new beater and wasn't impressed with the boy who had been picked in his place. He got the impression that the captain didn't like Liam too much which begged the question why that idiot had been chosen. Antonio had many reasons to dislike his fellow Slytherin, his interest in his sister for one. Nonetheless Antonio was still on the team and determined to work hard and prove to Odette that she had made a mistake so every chance he got he made his way down to the Quidditch pitch which was where he found himself again only when he arrived he found he wasn't alone. "Sapphire right?" Antonio asked the girl as he approached her. She was a fellow alternate and a beater too if he wasn't mistaken.

Sapphire looked up as another person spoke. She recognized him from practice, though it took her a bit to remember his name. "Yeah. Um... An... Antonio, ain't it?" She asked, uncertain. She had focused more on the ball than the other players, but she knew that would need to change if she expected to work well with the team. She continued with something she did know. "You're the other alternate beater, aren't you?" She stated a little more than asked, extending her hand. "I don't think we've ever actually met."
