Tracey is a squib who worked at Matthew’s orphanage and noticed when he began to show magical abilities. She adopted him when he was six years old and has raised him ever since. She raised him to be aware of the magical world but he was also raised in the muggle community so he developed a love of movies and muggle books. Once she officially adopted him Tracey left the orphanage and went back to work as a teacher at the local high school and even made the decision to keep Matthew in a muggle primary school so he would socialise with kids his own age.

History: Matthew knows very little about his early life. From what he knows he was abandoned at an orphanage when he was a few months old. Nothing is known about his birth parents or even if they are still alive. Matthew spent his first few years in the orphanage but found a home when he was four years old and remained there until a few days after his fifth birthday. The home was not a happy one, both foster parents used him for the money they received and his foster father took pleasure in beating him. He took a lot of bruises and burns during his time there before he was finally taken back to the orphanage where he was discovered by Tracey who would later adopt him after noticing his magical abilities.

Tracey raised him to be aware of the magical world but for all intense of purpose he was raised as a muggle which means he is able to blend in to the muggle world. Growing up he fell in love with movies and books, he is particularly fond of old 80s movies, his favourite movie of all time if the Breakfast club, he doesn’t have a favourite book as he’s read too many to keep track of the best. When Matthew started at Hogwarts his intelligence and love of reading lead him to being sorted into Ravenclaw. His abusive early childhood left him with some emotional scars but his time at school and his obsession with movies meant that he knew how to socialise and had developed a bit of a personality that he had cherry picked from favourite characters as well as somethings that came naturally. Somewhere along the way he became what he likes to call charming, though it hasn’t done him much look with women.
