Padme found herself settling into school quite easily, much more easily than she had imagined she would. The hufflepuff had been worried about not settling in well, she knew, though her brother was doing better that there were still a number of issues with it. However, she had not run into such a problem, in fact the girl had settled in quite well. The hufflepuff had retreated to kitchens, she’d missed breakfast that day, having slept a little longer than she had intended and not wanting to wait until lunch to eat something she had gone to the kitchen for something, It was where she’d met the elves, Vader had told her there were creatures like the elves, and about what they did, but as she munched on some toast with a juice and book on the table in front of her she was mostly paying attention to what they were doing. Watching as the elves pottered about, making sure the food for the lunch was being made. It was an odd place, and she felt a bit like a fly on the wall, but had a warm and calming energy to it. Something she could definitely appreciate. This would be a good place to go for a little peace from other people.

Rioghan found herself waking up really late, just how she liked it. She spent the previous night—and morning— reading her the latest installment of her favourite book series. She was so excited and eager to know what happens next, that her insomnia struck hard and she couldn't sleep until 5:30 in the morning. Looking at the little amount of sunlight that got through the bed curtains, she couldn't feel any regret, even with the pounding headache. 'Books.' she thought. 'It's always worth it when it comes to books.' Suddenly, her stpmache growled and she was reminded of her other needs. Jumping off the bed, she changed from her yukata to sweaters and a pair of jeans before marching off to the kitchens with her book. Running a hand through her wavy mess of a hair, she asked the elves for some scrambled eggs and rice before spotting a Hufflepuff and grinned.

"Hello, may I join you?" she said as she sat down. "I'm Rioghan, but please, call me Ree!"

Ava, hungry from all the drama that seemed to occur inside her dormroom, wandered around the castle hunting for light snacks. The Slytherin failed to observe exactly what time she was supposed to go eat lunch in the Great Hall and just opted to take out something edible in the kitchen. It was a rather short walk considering the kitchens and the dungeons were at the same floor but it did provide her some time for her thoughts.

Arriving at her desired destination, Ava proceeded to ask the elves for some warm fluffy pancakes. At the same time, overhearing the Gryffindor's introduction, Ava situated herself on a nearby corner and quietly observed the interaction.

Padme had been watching the house elves work away pretty content with just doing that for the entire day. She was surprised by the person who joined her and sat down next to her. She looked at her a little startled but nodded in response. ”Sure,” came the slightly delayed response. She smiled at the girl as she introduced herself, ”I’m Padme, it’s nice to meet you,” Padme said in response, she hadn’t minded giving her name in recent weeks as it appeared people did actually like it. But she had still a light shy-ness in her expression as she did so. ”I’m just watching the house elves, they’re pretty cool,” she wasn’t sure if this girl would agree with her or if she’d have a much stronger differing position about the creatures. Padme had never seen anything like this before in her life. It was just something so entirely new and amazing to her. ”You can ask one of them for something, and they just do it.” the girl explained, in case Ree didn’t know that was possible, like Padme hadn’t known it was possible until she’d expressed a desire for something to eat. Padme certainly hadn't noticed the other girl in the room.
