During the school year Jonathon frequently found himself on an emotional low. It was hard enough to trudge himself around already without the added weight of assignments to his shoulders, it wasn't that the sixteen year old couldn't handle the assignments. He could be pretty bright when he wanted to be, he just knew how much easier life would be without assignments to worry about. It would let him read his comics in peace that's for sure. Why did professors give students so many assignments anyway? Couldn't they teach this stuff in class along with everything else? Jonathon shook his head. Now wasn't the time to work himself up about school. He'd already missed dinner twice this week and again today thanks to it. Stressing about it now wasn't going to help a thing. Surprisingly enough he had found a coping method for some of this stress. This coping method being the distraction of his two best friends, Dalton and Rosalie. They were his sidekicks, his confidants, the ones he could laugh with at the end of the day. They were the two people that somehow made the stress of school worth it. A faint smile crept its way onto Jonathon's pale features, a welcome consequence whenever he thought of his friends. Sadly Dalton and Rosalie would probably never know how much they meant to him, anybody could tell he's never had a way with words. Being kept inside a shell for most of his life didn't help either but eventually would find a way to tell them, he just needed to figure it out first. Today had gone by as a blur, and it seemed that with a blink of an eye, Jonathon ended up in the dining hall. He knew he was way too late for dinner but once most of the students had left, the place was rather peaceful. It was practically empty this time of day too, minus the odd groups of students talking among themselves. Everybody else had gone back to their common rooms. It was nice to finally wind down after such a stressful day. The assignments could wait until tomorrow, now all Jonathon wanted to do was sit back, relax and read.
